Hello,Is it currently possible to switch to an economy 7 tariff with OVO? I’m struggling to find any recent information about this as it seems like everything has come to a standstill with the impending October energy price rise.Thanks. 

Hi 1st post just noticed that my smart meter on the electric part isn't doing anything not showing how much I've got or how much I've used and the actual electric meter isn't doing anything either pushed buttons and nothing  happening we have still got electricity was just wondering why they have both stopped is there anything I can do to try and fix it as I'm worried going to get a  big bill as not sure if I've used my credit up the gas is working fine any info would be great

Hello,I have inherited a property from where the previous tenant (life-renter) died and I fell heir to it via my fathers will. The property has a PAYG meter served via OVO and had a current debt owed balance of £197.00 when I took over the property. I spoke with OVO and set-up my own OVO account in my name and was assured that the previous tenants debt was not something I should worry about as the account balance would be set to zero at the point of me setting up my account. I was told I was not responsible for the previous occupiers debt.In order for this to happen I have been given several codes on different occasions to add at the Paypoint to a new key I was provided with. The first code failed as no-one at OVO told me these are time sensitive and last only 24/48 hours and it took 4 days for the new key to arrive rendering the code void. I was then given a new code which the Paypoint operative said was successful when added to the key.OVO’s instructions were to then insert the key i

I have smart meters for both gas and electricity. However, neither is currently able to connect to OVO and hasn't done so for quite a while now. An engineer came to try to boost the signal but all his attempts failed. He said something about needing to wait for an additional bit of kit to be installed locally. How much longer do I have to wait? I really don't want to have to provide meter readings...I shouldn't have to with smart meters! 

Hi, I have just moved into a property which you supply. I want to submit my readings and fix my bills but the suggested price is £129 a month. This seems very high as there is only myself in the property. Is this just an estimate that will change once I submit my meter readings?

Hello, I have a very old imperial meter made by Parkinson Cowan (Ser/ No S512290) that works in ft2. Would someone kindly help with the conversion to kwh please. I also would like to know if it measures in ft2 or 100ft2. This is an image, many thanks. 

I have recently switched to OVO Energy with an Economy 7 tariff.Shortly before, I had a multi-rate smart meter installed by my previous supplier. The off-peak times were in two blocks: 22:30–00:30 and 02:30–07:30 (times GMT; and also ignore the random switching offset). For the period 00:30–02:30, the tariff returned to the day rate.On transfer to OVO, it appears that the new tariff information sent to the meter has set the off-peak times to a single 7-hour block of 00:30–07:30 GMT (so currently an hour later due to BST).However, while the tariff times have changed, the meter’s switching times have not. Thus at 22:30, the storage heater circuit is turned on, but the meter is still charging the more expensive rate. At 00:30, when the meter starts clocking the night rate, the storage heater is switched off. Then, finally, at 02:30, the storage heater circuit comes back on and the meter continues on the night rate until 07:30.This is a problem for people with storage heaters because the i

Does anyone know why over a year with Ovo energy a customer still can’t login to their account via the app and still have to be transferred via online account not strange technology   What’s complex about accessing your account to view/ send meter readings etc and after  this  time period Ovo energy haven’t done anything about it  

IHD = correct balance and mirrors meters.Gas & Electric meters = displaying correct balance. App payment history = correctly reflects payments. OVO app = only showing balance from the 19/20th for electric & gas. Full bar signal between IHD and meter (1 foot away). All lights on meter flashing green correctly. Only variable is the God-awful app. Anyone in the know: any to a way to force refresh the balance on the app?Seen similar old posts where OVO acknowledge 'issues' with the app, but any reason this is not updating correctly now. Makes me suspect the app more than any 'communication' issues). (PLEASE, please do not give me generic advice / cut & pastes et al for a specific question - it won't be helpful).Thank you in advance.✌️

Hi,We had our smart meter fitted in the summer and we have switched to E10 as we have storage heaters and an E7 immersion water heater which was fitted approx 4 years ago after the decades old one started leaking. My parents are elderly and I now need to install a heater in their bedroom and the 30 yr old storage heater in the front room has just failed this week. We were debating whether to now get modern electric responsive heaters, instead of forking out for new storage heaters. We are stuck on whether we need to change the water tank though. I read that an electrician can re-wire it, can that be re-weird to a timer so we have hot water without having to flip a switch and wait for it to heat up? We would then of course switch to a fixed rate tariff. When we did the sums earlier in the year (looking at a years worth of back bills) there wasn’t much difference in the costing for fixed rate vs E7/10 as we use a lot of daytime electricity on the higher rate. I’m looking to buy heaters t

I had a smart meter installed at the beginning of July.  It’s in dumb mode as there isn’t enough WAN in the village where I live.  Prior to this, I was sending monthly meter readings to Ovo and, on average, I was using 33 kWh a month.  So, it was rather a shock to see that I used, on average, 86 kWh a month since getting the smart meter.  In addition, we had lovely weather in the two months since getting the smart meter, ie. not the middle of winter when you expect your energy usage to be greater.  Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated.Many thanks, Cate 

Can anyone recommend a good efficient electric wall heater. The one I currently have is eating electric and I can't afford to have the heating on.Any help would be appreciated 

Hi, I tried using the smart scheduling for the first time last night to charge my car. My car was unlocked, I plugged in the cable both ends and my charger started to flash, this was around 19:30. Checking my app all night nothing seemed to happen. I last checked at 23:00 and still nothing. Thinking it may not charge until after midnight I went to bed. My app was set to finish by 07:30 but following that this morning, no charge had been started at all since last night. Unlocked my car this morning (changed smart schedule to 10am) and it started charging straight away. Seems strange that it will only start if my car is unlocked? Anyone else had this issue?

So I recently received a letter saying that I was being switched from OVO- however, I have no intention of switching, and I have made absolutely no actions to do so. I believe this might be an Erroneous Transfer, but I really don’t know. The problem is: I have tried to get in contact both via e-mail and phone, however for some reason, neither will recognise my OVO account number when I enter it, so I cannot get more information and I cannot correct this. Any advice? I want to switch from my current variable plan to a 1 year fixed loyalty plan + boiler cover. The problem is that I already have a boiler cover in place, so what will happen when I switch?  Will I end up paying for 2 plans or will the current boiler plan be automatically added?  There are only 2 options on the application form, which is “With Boiler Cover” or “Without Boiler Cover”.

Does anyone know of any shops in/near the dy5 area of the west midlands that supply ovo gas cards? Before anyone suggest post office or morrisons shops with a post office in, these two places do not supply them. Both said ovo was meant to supply cards but never came 

Got a call from them today and since I setup my account in the last few days, I didn’t second guess giving my details away. Now afraid this might have been a scam call. Is 03308227052 a OVO number or not?Thanks

Been using Hypervolt 3 in conjunction with OVO Anytime for at least a year now. Recently I set Anytime to complete by 2100 hours before an important journey and was surprised on departure to find nothing had happened and had great difficulty in getting the charger cable out of the OBC. Used different vehicle and tried to resolve problem with various resets a day or two later. Eventually I called the Anytime support number and was redirected to Hypervolt who cleared the problem from their end. Where can we find guidance about who to contact in different scenarios? My biggest single issue is the hand-off between suppliers, installers, EV app and go-betweens such as OVO. A simple “map” would save a lot of time and trouble for all.

Hi, I’ve recently noticed (after living here 7 years!) that our gas usage seems high vs similar properties on the OVO app. We live in a 4 bedroom 1920s extended bungalow - 2 upstairs loft bedrooms - 2 on the ground floor with 2 sitting rooms and a conservatory, we have unfilled cavity walls in the original part of the house (we had a quote for cavity wall insulation which suggested that since we had 3 walls containing chimneys in the older part of the house it wouldn’t be worth filling them) underfloor insulation and some loft insulation. In terms of cost I accepted our energy bills would be higher than our previous house but when I’ve looked at the actual use we seem to be roughly double average for ”similar” houses. I noticed even when we were on holiday - in the summer and there was no heating or hot water being used - that we seemed to be using kWh - about 2 or 3 per day.  Could this be a sign of an issue with the boiler? It’s about 8 years old and a Worcester combi boiler. Or are

Hello, I’ve just moved into a new apartment and it’s prompting me to put in a meter reading. I know how to put it in and read it. However, when I write out the meter reading the website gives me an error. On the app, it doesn’t allow me to put in the reading at all, giving me an error before that point. Could this be because there have been no previous energy readings? thank you. 

Wondered if anyone can answer my query Im an existing FIT payment receiver (solar panels installed with single string inverter 11 years ago) so receive a decent FIT payment. Recently had installed a EcoFlow 3.6kw inverter with 10kw battery storage, the generation meter was changed to a bidirectional meter as instructed and followed the correct schematic. However the meter is showing a negative number and I can’t seem to work out what the solar panels are generating apart from what shows in the EcoFlow app We charge the batteries up at night using an off peak rate and then any solar during the day tops the batteries up. am I correct in thinking there should be another meter of sort between the solar panels and inverter just to monitor the generation from The solar panels? installers seem to think by summer it will change to a positive but that’s no good to me right now when I’ve generated about 30kw of solar   

Hi,I’ve been trying to top up my OVO PAYG meter but the payment keeps failing. The exact message I get is: We’re sorry, we couldn’t take your payment. This is probably due to a temporary technical issue. Please check your connectivity and try again. I have sufficient funds in my account, my card details are correct, and I’ve tried both the app and the website. I also switched between Wi-Fi and mobile data but it still doesn’t work. Is there a known outage or issue with the PAYG top-up system right now?And if not, what should I do to get my payment through? Thanks in advance for any help.
