Do you have Solar Panels & Charge Anytime? We’d love to hear your thoughts

It's an exciting time in the EV and Solar market for customers. We're looking to get some feedback from customers who have Charge Anytime and Solar on what they would like to see if we were able to offer both services at the same time. Currently customers with solar panels are not eligible for Charge Anytime. Charge Anytime works by crediting customers, for each kilowatt hour (kWh) of EV electric vehicle charging that occurs, from their grid imported home energy rate down to 7p. Currently, when customers with solar panels charge their EVs, we can’t tell the difference between imported and self-generated energy, leading to problems with getting credit and rendering them ineligible. We’re looking to solve this and we’d like you to take part in some research.  Are you eligible for this research? You’d need to either: Use Charge Anytime  Have an Electric Vehicle or use Charge Anytime and be considering installing solar panels  Or have an electric vehicle and solar panels  If you’re interes

A New Chaos - A Greener Future: Part OneBlog

 This was supposed to be a short piece. My apologies in advance to the part of your life you won’t get back after you have  read it but it does a condense a lot of thought and research into one article so I think it’s worth reading. To save time you  can skip the boxes.   This is an personal journal of how the use of energy in one household has evolved over the past few years with a  surprising setback but also an unexpected development and future possibilities for getting towards Net Zero. However,  this is not about how a typical migration might happen. This is about an experiment that was kick started out of the chaos  that was the result of Covid and then Russia invading Ukraine and how it influenced my thinking about how to reduce my  costs with very high energy prices..  ...ContinuedThe diagram is a crude illustration of how the various technologies compare in installation and running costs. The heat pump starts off at a minimum of £500 per year due to the initial cost and that is after the grant. It’s over a £1,000 a year without a grant. The AAHP is standalone, £800 over 10 years. The gas boiler starts off at £4,000 over 15 years but probably 20 as it’s very lightly loaded. It’s only really going to be used on the coldest of days or if the electricity prices are high for some reason. With TRVs (that you can’t use with a heat pump) the gas boiler will only be heating the other rooms in the house as required to balance the heating. You are only asking the AAHP and the gas boiler to do what they do best so the combination is saving both money and gas at the same time. The immersion heater is saving gas on the lowest priced days but it’s capable of storing a certain amount of extra heat (as a  battery) for later use so may save more than is initially es

Power Move Flex Charge Anytime Session

Hi all, So I’ve joined the Power Move Flex with Charge Anytime.  I’m looking for clarity on what constitutes a session. For every 3 hours is a session but if I plugged in for 6 hours does that count as 1 or 2 sessions?  Wondering if I would need to unplug and replug in day every few hours or at least every day or can I leave it constantly plugged in, if for example I didn’t use the car for a few days.  thank you

Renault Etech not connecting with charge anytime app

The last step on the OVO charge anytime app tells me to enable the ‘find my car’ functionality for vehicle location. I have been searching for this in the car as far as I can see location is on but there isn’t anything specifically that says ‘find my car’. Can anyone help?

Indra Smart Pro flashing 5 times (purple) - charger is offline

Hi guys,I was wondering if anyone could shed light with my issue. It just started today and only had it installed June 8th. As I was plugging my car to charge instead of your usual indicator, it started flashing purple indicator 5 times. As well as in the web app it is not recognising the device.Please help.

Charge Anytime won’t connect to BMW

Hi,I’ve been trying to setup Charge Anytime to connect with my BMW X5 50e.I don’t have a compatible charger but the car is listed as compatible.Ive downloaded the Charge Anytime App and successfully logged in. It all works up until the point where I need to log into my BMW acccount to give permission. The App appears to direct me towards the BMW USA site (I’m in the UK). I’ve setup an account for the USA site to see if this helps but now just get an error.Ive logged into my BMW UK account outside of the app to see if I can give permissions but can’t find anything.Ive emailed the Charge Anytime team but the only response was to contact BMW. BMW customer services have no idea what I’m talking about. I emailed OVO back and explained that and I think the issue is probably to do with Kaluza or Enode and where the app is directing me.Any help would be appreciated.

Trying to understand how to set up my EV with Charge Anytime

Hi Folks,I’ll begin by saying the setup for EV charging hurts my brain!I have a Cord One charger, which is meant to be Ovo compatible and I’ve been using their recommended app from Monta to manage smart charging.I’m on Ovo Charge Anytime and also have the CA app installed on my phone. I’m not sure if that’s needed or not though. It seems like that and the Monta app fight for the right to schedule my EV charge times.To confuse myself further, I’ve just enrolled in the Power Move Flex option where I’m supposed to have the car plugged in as close to 24/7 as is practical.My dilemma is, if I set my Monta app to smart charge then the Charge Anytime app doesn’t see the car as being plugged in, so does that mess with the Power Move Flex sessions? However, if I set the Monta app to ‘Charge Now’, then the car is being charged at any time, day or night, and I don’t know if I’m then paying peak rate for the electric.Should I even have both apps installed? If yes, which is in control? Otherwise, wh

volvo EX40 and Hypervolt 3.0 pro

My anytime charge has failed for three nights. I’ve only just had the equipment installed and it hasn’t to the best of my knowledge ever worked.  The services are connecting though as when I select urgent charge in the ovo app it successfully starts, communicating with Hypervolt charger. has anyone seen similar behaviour please? thanks sophie

adding a second Tesla to a Charge Anytime account

Hi,  I have been very happily using  Charge Anytime with my Tesla for the past 2 years.  My son is now also planning to get a Tesla but under a lease scheme. I believe he would have his Tesla account linked by the Lease company as a driver of the vehicle. The limitation on adding a second Tesla to your Charge Anytime account is you have to use the same Tesla account. Can this be achieved if the Tesla account I’m currently using is identified as  a driver of the leased Tesla?  I think added drivers get access to most features so I’m hoping this would work. Can anyone confirm this?  Unfortunately I only have an older  Hypervolt V2 charger so that’s not yet compatible with Charge Anytime.  Many ThanksRob

How to get a charging station added to the map?

Hi,I’m considering to start using OVO for public (AC) charging of my electric car.But: the public charging station closest to my house, so preferred station to use, is not showing on the map in the OVO app. No idea why, two other stations a little further away from the same operator (TotalEnergies / Greenflux) are shown. It’s definitely not a new station. And it works. It is visible in pretty much every other charging app I have.How can I get OVO to add this specific charging station to their map/database?Rough location: The Netherlands, Utrecht, De Meern.Thanks,Matthijs

How to set up your smart charger to use it with Charge AnytimeTutorial

If you have a compatible charger (such as an Indra or Ohme) then you need to link the charger to your OVO online account. You don’t need the additional Charge Anytime app. Ohme have made step by step instructions on how to set up Charge Anytime.We recommend opening your OVO online account in Google Chrome, and following these steps: (If this doesn’t work the first time please try this using a new ‘Incognito’ window) Go to the Offers and Upgrades section. Click on the Charge Anytime banner. Select the compatible charger that you have (Ohme or Indra). It’ll ask you for the username and password to log in to your charger manufacturers’ app. This will link your charger to your OVO account and you’ll get a new heading in your OVO account called ‘Your EV’.  You’ll still need to schedule the charging in your charger manufacturers' app. And after you’ve charged, the savings will show in the Your EV section of your online account. NOTE - If you ‘Boost’ or ‘Max Charge’ on the charger to charge i

Why is Hyundai Ionic showing up as unplugged?

Hi, trying to charge my Hyundai Ionic 5 for the first time, appreciate it's only beta at present.  I've plugged in but ca app says unplugged and no urgent charge option. Any ideas please?

Mercedes max. charge level discussion- Any workarounds?

I have read through some of the forum topics and it is well-documented that Mercedes and Indra/OVO has an as yet unresolved problem, that being the maximum charge level is re-set to 50% by software Gremlins.I wanted to start a dedicated forum topic about this issue and keep it going until it is resolved, because this is not a minor inconvenience. It would be THE reason for me to not have ordered and signed a finance engagement for a Mercedes EV, or paid over £1000 to OVO for a charger. In my circumstances, charging at home is a key reason to have an EV. Without that, I would go back to a diesel tomorrow.I will update the thread when Mercedes replies to me by email, now that I have been able to pinpoint the issue for them. So far (before I knew there was a big problem), they have replied quickly but with the generic “reinstall the Mercedes Me app - send fault logs - what phone are you using” etc etc etc.So, I invite you to write your workarounds (if there are any), your communication wi

Hi All, I am a newbie to the EV world. I did my first charge last night via the anytime app. However when I have looked this morning my anytime app is saying 12.1kw and smart charge is showing £1.69 however my Hypervolt is showing 48.20kwh charging and a cost of £7.04.  has anyone seen stuff like this and what can they advise as I don’t want to be paying the full price and not get the 7p per kWh

Charge Anytime  When I tried to Addon charge anytime tariff gets to last page says Sorry, there's a bit of a problemWe couldn't connect to your EV charger.Omhe home pro charger which works on OVO standard tariff  any one fixed this problem I have emailed smarthome they are looking into this but no reply since last week

I am an existing OVO customer with smart meters and want to add the Charge anytime option to my account. I have just purchased an Ohme epod. When I follow a link I get the message “The Charge Anytime bolt on is currently unavailable” What is wrong?

Hello Like most people in this forum, I've recently started having issues with my Ford MachE using charge anytime. I seen on another thread we're hopeful to have an update today, can anyone confirm if we've a resolution.Ill simply have no other option but to leave and join one of the company's offering a discounted EV
