Questions to solve

Hi. I want to remove my ex partners name from the ovo account and add my name onto it. I have been seperated for several months and have been trying to get this done but been told that I have to have my partners verbal permission, he has been on the phone to the customer service several times but get no where. They keep saying to close the account and send a final statement. I dont wish to close the account as I still live at the property and still need the gas and electric all I want to do is to remove his name and add mine onto it. My email address and phone number are already on the system just need my name on it.Surely should not be as difficult as it is just to swap names?Thanks.

Good eveningI have received a couple of emails over the last one/two months advising that my gas meter needs replacing as per advice from my ‘network operator’ (apprently it could become unsafe).  However it was only installed last year (2025) and has a note stating it was ‘refurbished’ in 2023.  It is a traditional PAYG meter that was an exact replica of the old one that was removed due to a fault.Do I actually need to have my gas meter replaced going by the above information? Many thanks in advance.   

Can anyone explain why when I get emails to pick a two hour slot to receive a little help with my heating and I book slot get reminders yet when I receive my bill there is zero discount applied to my bill 

Has anyone who received an electric blanket from ovo had issues? Mine was working perfectly but the plug has now stopped working and I've tried all the troubleshooting! Does anyone know how or where to get a replacement power connector? 

My ovo energy meter is wrongly calculating my daily usage. What should I do ? We were not at home,still it shows the usage on daily basis and even no heating is on, no electric fridge or anything on, still everyday ,it is same. I think there is some problem with our meter. Please help how to solve it

Hoping someone can help shed some light on my current situation. We recently bought a new house on 5th December, and looked at whether I could take my current OVO account across from old to new address however not possible. I’ve been with OVO since 2021 and have had nothing but positive experiences so I was keen to stay with them.So I notified OVO immediately of a moving out date of 31/12/2025 whilst also asking for the Direct Debit (DD) to be cancelled with immediate effect (I believe this was requested with ample time). As we were a considerable amount in credit already, we were told OVO would just use that amount to cover the final bill and refund the remainder. We also had a smart meter fitted so any final readings would be automatically submitted to them.Fast forward to 01/01/2026 and OVO had taken the supposedly cancelled DD out of my account. I use the OVO Energy integration to monitor and record my energy usage in Home Assistant, and I noticed today that the integration stopped providing data to my meter reading entities around 4 days ago. Does anyone know if this is a temporary thing and what the cause is?

A little help with heating, opted in, received reminders emails but got nothing on bills

When we have high demand in our house (like switching on a shower), the lights go dimmer. Recently our car charger has frequently stopped working saying there is a supply problem. I’ve just discovered that we can see the voltage on our smart meter, and it goes down as low as 190V.  The highest reading I’ve seen, with virtually nothing on, was 220V. We are in a very rural area. We have storage heating and when the meter was installed we were told it was a 3 phase supply. Does anyone know what’s going on? 

Is it more costly to have electricity supplied by OVO and gas by another company?

I recently received a heated throw and although I have used it a few times it has just randomly stopped turning on, I tried to unplug it and reset it but it’s still isn’t working. Does anyone know what I can do?

Hi, as the title suggests.I just moved to this one bed flat by myself.I actually lived in this flat for a total of 7 days in December, before leaving abroad for work and came back today (3 weeks later). I was checking the usage via the app and for the first few days after I left it was normal and as expected by an unoccupied flat. But then usage started going crazy, to the point that some days usage was more than when I was actually in the flat.Before leaving the flat I checked and everything was unplugged. Also the electric heating was off.The flat is supposed to be EPC C if that makes any difference.Any ideas what might have happened?thanks.

Can I change from Economy 10 to Economy 7 online?

Hi, Thanks for reading. I have a dumb prepay meter, which I have been topping up with the prepay card. However, for some reason, about a month ago I was put on a pay monthly plan without my knowledge. I now owe £97 on this account, even though I have kept my prepay meter in credit.I have also had a letter asking me to book a engineer visit to look at my gas meter. When I tried to book the visit, I explained the situation to the customer service team, and was told to ignore it and send pictures of my gas and electric meters over email - they would then verify the meters that way. I have done this, but I have received no follow up email, and no action has been taken regarding changing my account back to prepay. How do I get my account back to just prepay? Thanks in advance.

Long story short. Received the ‘Welcome to your new Home’ letter from OVO, set up new account using given Ac No. Wouldn't recognise Ac No, spoke to Helpline, that issue resolved and continued to set-up account. Then received a ‘Ready to finish setting up your online account?’ email to confirm email address. Done. Tried to log-on, but just get the ‘We're working on a new website for you’ page - I’m wondering if this is the OVO equivalent of the ‘blue screen of death’?  Any help appreciated as I’m reluctant to lose an hour+ waiting on the Helpline.

Since updating the charge time app my devices have been wiped off my account. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Logging out and back in but it lets me connect the car however it doesn't show as a device in my account settings and when I try and add the charger it gives error something has gone wrong please try laterthis has been happening for two days now. I have a monthly plan with 1000 units paid for on my account however as the car is not registering I am being charged at full price the two charges I have done this month have cost £40 so far, I have raised a ticket through the ovo service yesterday but not had anything back as yet.has anyone experienced this ? 

Hi everyone,I’m looking for some clarification regarding the OVO Beyond Heating offer for customers with electric heating.As per the offer details, customers with electric heat are eligible for a 63p weekly credit for 10 weeks, starting from the week commencing 27th October, provided we opt in each week. I have opted in every week as required.So far, I’ve had two bills generated, but on both bills I can see the OVO Beyond Heating offer credit showing as £0.00.I wanted to check with the community (or OVO moderators, if you’re able to clarify):1. Has anyone actually seen this credit applied on their bill yet?2. How exactly does this credit work in practice?3. Is the total credit applied after the full 10-week period ends, and then reflected in a subsequent bill, rather than weekly?4. Or should the credit appear incrementally on each bill during the offer period?Any insights or experiences would be really helpful, as the billing part isn’t very clear from what I can see. Thanks in advance

Here is an extract from the table showing my gas usage yesterday evening. As you can see, two values are recorded: 8.30pm and 9pm. If usage is recorded at 8.30pm, does this show what has been used between 8pm and 8.30pm or what has been used between 8.30pm and 9pm?
