I need help to pay my bill I cannot sleep????Is there a charity I would be so grateful  Hi I have have several issues with OVOsince they took over sfe? Anyway we have an arrangement I pay monthly and amount that is affordable to me they agreed  each month I have never missed c , I have several health issues and have more bad days than good ,They send the man to read the meter as they say it's estimated every time my caretaker says I show them where the meters live  they don't come down the stairs and walk past ,I have reported this to OVO nothing every time I speak with them each one tells me something different , they don't bother reading above on the system and say I haven't paid this month than they say for miss a payment you get charged I have not missed one month for years ,I'm told by step change they should be chasing those who don't pay anything  not you least they get paid something rather than nothing. The bill seems to go up up and up is there any help to pay some

I’ve recently received an email stating that my analogue Electricity Meter is out of its Certification Period and needs replacing. I suspect that replacing like for like will not be an option so I may have to have a Smart Meter.I don’t (and won’t) use WiFi. I’m sometimes told mockingly that I am a member of the “Tin Hat Club” – well each to their own.Instead I use AV2 MIMO Homeplugs (made by Solwise/AZTech) to route Ethernet traffic around my flat. Some people disparage this as “legacy” technology but my experience with it over many years has been excellent. It is extremely reliable and the actual achieved transfer rates are good – 350Mbits/second between two PCs some way apart in different rooms (measured using iperf3).I’ve seen several reports that Smart Electricity Meters introduce noise onto the mains which can disrupt AV2 Homeplug working. I cannot see the boiler bundle for existing customers on the app or the web. When I spoke to OVO customer service they said it was being resolved (3 weeks ago) Any suggestions ?

Have just noticed that my online account is not updating with readings from my smart meter (since 08/12). This is despite my meter showing the usual flashing green lights and the display on my desk continuing to show the usual usage readingsI completed the online form to report the issue,which came up with the correct serial number but said “Your smart meters are talking to us” and didnt give any other options aside from Contact Us. I tried calling, but in the runup to Christmas I dont have time to sit on hold for 30+ mins at a timeI know you can submit manual meter readings, but I really dont see that as a solution, more of a sticking plaster. Its a bad time for this time to happen as Ive just had to start using my awful night storage heatersAny ideas? Ive had a search on the forums but cannot really see a definitive answer

Hi ,Ive had a letter for the Warm Home Discount Government scheme that tells me my prepayment meter will be credited by the energy supplier which has been OVO for a year i believe . However Ive heard nothing  from them concerning the discount credit . What has confused me is I received a call at my door tonight by a young guy from EE who was telling me he needed to access my meter to do help me with my warm Home Discount . it was all a bit confusing and he told me he “ had accessed my meter “ .he was a pleasant guy but I became very suspicious and told him to leave . So basically I havent a clue who ,which company or what info to trust , who is paying what and how because there is also the Winter  Fuel Payment which is paid to a bank . Im told to not trust emails ,texts and now even letters and it’s all a bit chaotic and I’m wondering if Ive now told this man to go away when he had my Discount credit for the meter ? Or Does OVO credit my meter ,and when and how ? As I said Ive heard no

Since updating the charge time app my devices have been wiped off my account. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Logging out and back in but it lets me connect the car however it doesn't show as a device in my account settings and when I try and add the charger it gives error something has gone wrong please try laterthis has been happening for two days now. I have a monthly plan with 1000 units paid for on my account however as the car is not registering I am being charged at full price the two charges I have done this month have cost £40 so far, I have raised a ticket through the ovo service yesterday but not had anything back as yet.has anyone experienced this ? 

I'm pay as you go and have just gone to top up, but the metre is only displaying the green light with no credit etc? I've put the key in and nothing, pressed the blue button and nothing. Im worried that I'm going to end up in darkness with not knowing when the fault started? We did experience a power cut a couple of weeks back. Can anyone advise? I've rang over and they're only accepting emergency calls such as no supply. 

Hiya, I very gratefully received the electric blanket as I have MS, however I've only used it twice and for no longer than 2 hours each time, and it wont turn on at all anymore. Can I contact ovo about this? Thank you.

I have been emailing ovo at hello@ovoenergy.com for the outstanding bills. Property was leased out in mid November and contract was terminated. However, it seems Ovo is still billing me. Beside the above email, how can I still reach out to the for clarifications? 

I have just tried to get a free electric throw /blanket. However, OVO have stopped issuing them now (10th January 2025), as they have had a lot of demand, and ran out of stock. 

We had a powecut on sunday and my screen is blank, the green background light is there but with no numbers telling me how much I've left. Once the credit has gone will it cut my supply off? Ive got a meter being installed on the 2 January. Im on prepayment for electric and gas and its the electric thats gone. Very worried about this

Good morning!!! I'm Radmila Turcan and I received a letter from OVO saying that the electricity meter is not working properly and I need to make an appointment for the technician to come and see what the problem is.

I live in a 3 bed semi and have for the last 15 years. Recently switched to ovo and then had the smart meters installed .My usage has crept up over the years like everyone's. Now on OVO with smart meters and nothing has changed in my home  my monthly usage/direct debit has gone to £246 a month that's a second mortgage any ideas why my bills have double since i switched to ovo?

Little help with heating ?. It states on ovo beyond that a little help with heating if you join each week you will get 63p credit to bill each week now on week 4 (signed up every Monday as asked) still not reciev3d any payment yet, could ovo explained when this will be paid.

We’ve been going through major issues getting smart meters installed for the first time, and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced similar? It’s seems to be almost entirely down to the ridiculous subcontracting system Ovo use which means each engineering visit is to do a specific job rather than just get the meters working. Each time the engineer identifies a new issue, instead of being allowed to fix it, it gets logged as a new job which needs another appointment.  We’ve had 7 visits so far, with a further one supposed to be scheduled soon.The summary so far is:Visit 1 (July 2025) - Installed meters and IHD, advised all would be operational in max 4-6 weeks. Result - working gas smart meter, no working electric or IHDVisit 2 - Visit to perform full reset. Identified issue with electric meter. Visit 3 - Replace electric meter. Identified issue with comms module. Visit 4 - Replace comms module and recommission everything. Result - electric working, gas no longer working, IHD no

Is IHD 3 Type 1 no on off switch compatible with SMET 2 meters.

Good afternoon,According to my ovo bill, I’m on the following tariff:Simpler Energy - Economy 10 My property is an all electric flat, originally supplied by SSE but subsequently transferred to OVO.I have always been on economy 10. I have a smart meter, which was fitted by OVO. To ensure that I’m not getting fleeced, I want to check: the hours of the day that are deemed off-peak the price rates being applied to the off-peak and peak hours.How can I check the above? thanks in advance

Hi all. I am really confused. we have paid the tariff cost of £37.50 and are plugging in our car at around 18:00, the car starts to charge immediately. It will continue to charge until 80%when I check the smart charge says it cost £0 but on my OVO account it is showing that we have used x amount of electricity and it charges us for this. does this mean we have to pay the tariff and then another cost on top or do we get this money back the following month. it is really difficult to understand. thanks for any help. 

I have a Scottish Power IDH with is now 11 years old. Yesterday it stopped working and when it is switched back on it shows the electrical reading and gas reading and then switches itself off.I have an account with OVO for my energy how do I get a replacement IHD and have it programmed to my existing smart meters?Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, not an OVO customer but seems a good forum for advice…Yesterday had my old multi rate electricity meter swapped out for a Landis e470 smart meter. Last night my economy 7 didn't activate to heat up my storage heaters or hot water. I live in a flat and the meter is in the meter room so don't have the smart meter display. With my old meter economy 7 activated at 00:30 until 07:30. Also turned on and off with a clunk from the consumer unit. I did verify with the engineer who installed the meter if economy 7 would work the same as before and he said yes. Is this likely going to be because the meter is new and still needs commissioning? EDF customer support isn't open weekends so just after some advice until I can contact them. Thanks in advance.Old and new meter photos attached  

We've had updated Dimplex storage heaters (Quantum QM100RF etc)  for 2 months now, and there’s one thing that isn't good. The kitchen has a patio door. In fine weather the sun comes through it in the afternoon and heats up the room a lot for an hour or more. We are on Economy 10, with its afternoon charging time coinciding with the most heat from the sun  to this room. The heater’s smartness seems to decide to stop charging it up with heat for later. I suppose it “thinks” that it's warm weather outside so it won't need to output much heat later.  That’s been OK until recently, when on some days it’s been sunny but very cold outside (freezing yesterday). The result is that the Quantum heater runs out of heat early in the evening.  The other rooms are shaded from the sun, and their heaters’ output fully all evening. Is there any way in which I can influence it to input energy more during this afternoon off-peak period?  I cant see any settings that let me. PS   various leafets, instructi

My local area had its gas supply upgraded by northern gas from old pipes to new and when they did this they ran new gas pipes up to every property and capped them. If you used gas they attached your meter and everything was uncapped and back to normal. We do not use any gas in our property so our supply is capped outside our property to an empty white box. we still have the meter we always had inside the property but its not connected to a supply or any appliances (ie cooker, heating) it just sits there doing nothing. i spoke to someone at Ovo and they wanted £80 to remove it even though it’s not connected to any supply, so we left it in as the standing charge is about the same. We are at the end of our contract with OVO now and we will save money if we change supplier. My questions are....do I still have to pay for both gas and electric with the new supplier? Who does the redundant meter belong to when we do change?

Ovo want to increase by direct debits so that I am one month in credit by the end of March next year. I queried this with them as previously the payments were worked out so that the amount was £0 at the end of the 12 month period. They’ve said they have changed their DDM calculations so I have to accept this. I think this is v unfair. Is there any way round this? 

Hi,I have recently had a Vaillant aroTherm Plus heat pump installed, which is eligible for the Heat Pump Plus add on.I have entered all details in the eligibility checker and got a message back saying that OVO will get in touch in the next 5-7 days. It has been more than 3 weeks and I haven't got any correspondence with OVO.I have sent an email to OVO, and also I have been redirected to Heat Pump department but the line just drops after a while.I have exhausted all communication channels to get to some one to no avail.Any recommendations as what to do now? Basically their tariff is the main reason I signed up with OVO but I cannot do a simple thing of adding their tariff.
