I've received an email from OVO re a refund on my old PAYG account (something to do with an Ombudsman decision) followed by another one from Paypoint telling me to click a link to get the refund transferred into my account.  Is this genuine?  I've since moved (2024) and there's a normal meter where I am now.  Thanks

Hi please can someone help advise whether Ovo will install an additional GivEnergy battery for me to extend my system.I believe GivEnergy are no more , so once physically installed how do you configure the battery as I understand that GivEnergy needed to send some instruction to the inverter any help and guidance really appreciated Thanks colin  

Hi Ovo, I wondered whether the API that powers your live and historical usage page in the account menu is something you could look into opening up a bit so we can freely access our raw data and also perhaps it may stimulate some interesting community projects? For instance (more sport related), Strava and Fitbit.

I have just received an email regarding my new fixed rate tariff which is due to start in August when the present fix ends. The link in the email does not take me to the new tariff details just to my present plan. This is not very helpful!

had old gas meter with £118 credit..gas went off went to check it said faulty battery phoned ovo got engineer out to replace it..when I asked for the credit to be put back on my new meter they said the engineer's report said there was no credit on my old meter but it was just reading faulty battery nothing else no reading..nothing..ovo said as I have no proof of topping up..we are payg they won't credit it back on our meter..very frustrating...any idea's 

I have a SMETS2 meter and a 10 kWh Fox ESS battery. Phone support told me I can't switch to Economy 7, but I would like for winter grid-charging. Can a forum moderator help me push through a remote profile class change(i belive this is what its called?)? Also once im in economy 7, are there specific tariffs that would work with a 10KW battery setup? Many Thanks Raf 

Hi,I have just taken delivery of a Skoda Elroq, replacing a Tesla Model 3. The Tesla charged without issues from day one. I recently experienced a problem when I plugged in the car one evening at 40% and set the OVO schedule to 80%. The charge started and got to 55%. It then stopped due to busy period/looking for a cheaper window etc, and the car went to sleep. The OVO app couldn't wake the car up again and abandoned the charge.I contacted OVO anytime support and we went through the car's settings and no issues there. OVO support did mentioned that this is a know issue that when a car goes to sleep, mid-charge schedule, the app cannot wake it up again. I was wondering if there are any Skoda EV owners who have experienced a similar issue and what workarounds/solutions you have used.. 

It’s been a long story… Some while ago we were offered a SMETS1 smart meter, but we delayed until a SMETS2 was available. Then an engineer came to install a SMETS2 meter, and left saying something about no signal, leave it a while. The meter is in a lower ground floor area, with a mobile signal.Finally, July 2020, new SMETS2 meter installed - not talking to the network, but wait a bit and it’ll ‘probably’ be OK. No IHD left. I thought that even if the thing couldn’t talk to Ovo at least an IHD would allow me to read the meter easily, so I requested one, which eventually arrived. Silly me, I didn’t realise that the meter - supposedly installed for MY benefit - wouldn’t talk to my home network if it couldn’t talk to OVO first.After a while we got back to Ovo who said there was nothing they could do and we would have to move our meter, at our expense (approx £250) and hope the new position had a better signal. Wondered if anyone can answer my query Im an existing FIT payment receiver (solar panels installed with single string inverter 11 years ago) so receive a decent FIT payment. Recently had installed a EcoFlow 3.6kw inverter with 10kw battery storage, the generation meter was changed to a bidirectional meter as instructed and followed the correct schematic. However the meter is showing a negative number and I can’t seem to work out what the solar panels are generating apart from what shows in the EcoFlow app We charge the batteries up at night using an off peak rate and then any solar during the day tops the batteries up. am I correct in thinking there should be another meter of sort between the solar panels and inverter just to monitor the generation from The solar panels? installers seem to think by summer it will change to a positive but that’s no good to me right now when I’ve generated about 30kw of solar   

Please can someone tell me what the new Export Tariff is from 1st April 2026. My advice email tells me the new FIT tariff but not the the new Export Tariff. What is the RPI increase date that OVO use? Any help please. 

The email I received from OVO on 17 July 2026 informed me that my Direct Debit has gone up by 29.8%.It says “These are the possible reasons for why your payments need to go up”, and lists all the possible reasons Obviously the new price cap is one reason, but how can I tell whether any of the others apply, and what those effects amount to?My latest bill shows that, as of 1 July 2026, my electricity price went up by 6%, and my gas price by 28%. Daily charges for both are down very slightly.Given that I do use electricity - about 1/3 of a typical winter bill - it seems likely that the increase in my Direct Debit is not fully explained by the increase in the Price Cap. Hence, I’d like to know, or be able to work out, what the other factors are. The email from OVO does not help me do that.Regards, George 

Solarman app on iphone not providing daily solar production. I did reinstalled the logger on my 8kw Megarevo with no success. Any suggestion please?? 

Moved into HMO in January 2025. We pay our bills through our rent.Following the advice online, I sent all mail to previous tenants back with a sticker reading "return to sender, addressee no longer here," or similar.Saturday 27th September we get a visitor at the door who leaves us a letter saying the previous tenant owes almost £2k. Housemate 1 explained the previous tenant hasn't lived here since before January.Monday 29th Housemate 2 calls to confirm what Housemate 1 said.Saturday 4th October, another letter, which I open even though it's addressed to previous tenant. Letter says this is a final notice, and someone could show up and install a PAYG meter with the £2k already applied, so we would have to cough up that amount before even being able to use electricity.I send OVO an email saying absolutely not, this is not our debt. Get an automatic email back saying, "your email address isn't linked to any account so we can't reply to your email." I forward the email to OVO's lettings e

My gas account is not showing on the new OVO account i had to download, my electricity one is there. I can not top up with out this, i have tried doing rhis through the online chat but it was useless and i was told to add the accunt by hitting the + sign ,but that is just to top up electricity. Can anyone help me.resolve this please

Good morning… last week my electricity meter was updated. When completed the engineer set up an IHD which was working. I asked he could instead set up my own chameleon IHD7. He suggested I should ring in with the GUID number and have it initialised.This was done and their supplied IHD3 was turned off.Needless to say they could not initialise my device which has worked faultlessly for several years.I am now looking at two devices which are dead ducks. I have reported this and their answer was to be patient and if it is still not working in 28 days time report it again. I do not wish to raise a complaint yet but I am becoming very frustrated.briiow.

Hello, Some time ago I put a post on here regarding underfloor heating with a smart meter. As I said I have two meters one of which is a radio signal one which is permanently connected and has not shut down with the switch off. I did have a smart meter booked but as they wanted to put me on economy 9 I after some thought cancelled it. I have since found out that a neighbour had  a similar set up to me but is not with Ovo. His provider has fitted two smart meters, one for standard electricity and one for underfloor heating and hot water. This seems like the best arrangement for myself. Is this something that Ovo can and would do. Thank you all.

I signed up for power move months ago and it always said updating settings come back in 48 hours,I left power move and tried to sign back up but now it says couldn’t update setting,check your connection, any idea on how to get past this

Has anyone downloaded the new app & got an unexpected credit into your balance? I’m hoping it’s just an expected thing and not a mistake but scared to death I’ll be hit with a bill for their error if it’s a mistake. I’ve had a similar issue with this in the past so extra nervous. I do usually get a winter payment but not usually in the summer 

Hello. Recently moved into a rented property with £47 of Emergency credit on the gas meter. Was given guidance by Ovo over the phone to take my gas card to a paypoint for a Zero Vend. Had no idea what to do after that as it wasn’t explained. Since then i have bought gas via the card and topped up only for the Emergency credit to now show £ 41.  No idea what is going on or where I’ve gone wrong?? Any help greatly received! :)  Thanks  Ste

Hi All1st question so please take pity on melooking to get an Kia EV3 on the motabilty scheme ,they will install the charger (OHME HOME PRO)Ovo dont support these? however they say they support the EV3, but it needs to be able to use the internet?Sorry to say im over 60 and have no idea if the EV3 can use the internet any help would be greatfully received,i would rather not move supplier but if that is the only way to make it work i may have to.many thanksColin
