Hello - hoping someone can help or advise. Newly-fitted smart meter (electricity only) has emitted a high-pitched sound since day one. Not sure if the unit is faulty, but I find the pitch/frequency of this sound extremely distressing, and think it has contributed to me developing tinnitus (and the associated anxiety). Please note that I don’t subscribe to any conspiracy-type theories! … I’m just really really sensitive to this high-pitched sound. Switched everything off at the fuse box to test, but the noise continues. Has anyone else experienced this, and have you resolved it? I have raised a complaint with OVO but they’re slow in responding. I’m desperate to get this sorted. Thank you.

I’m no longer able to use the Top Up App and, as advised, have downloaded the new App.  This only shows my Gas A/C which I pay by direct debit.  There doesn’t seem to be anywhere to add my electricity account so now I’m not able to top up my electricity.  I did use the online chat and was advised that I could just continue to use the existing top up app, which is obviously no longer active!

Hi,I have a traditional electricity meter which is faulty and needs to be replaced. There is restricted room to install a new meter - even the existing traditional meter overhangs the back-board that it is attached to (this is possible because the screw holes for mounting the meter are located in areas where the back-board is available).It seems that only Smart Meters can be installed now as no replacement traditional meters are available. The Smart Meters are larger than the traditional ones and I can see the dimensions shown in other posts on this forum. One thing I haven’t been able to get is a mounting / screw template for the new Smart Electricity Meters. Having such a template would help me to work out if a new meter can be installed on the existing back-board, or whether a complete reconfiguration of the meter cupboard and it’s contents is required. Is there actually an easy way of talking to Customer Services? I've been waiting on online chat for an hour and I'm still in a queue. All I need to do is register for the new Ovo app so I can add credit to my meters. One would have thought registering for an app would be simple and straightforward. Apparently not, as Ovo insist on telling me I've entered the wrong account details. I haven't got time to wait any longer as I've got things to do. Don't Ovo realise that people are busy and haven't got time to sit around all day?So, I've wasted all that time and still can't use the app. Now what do I do?

I used the website to set up 2 monthly payments for gas and electric but since the website changed the payment went out but has not shown up on the meter, I cant find the outgoing payments on my banking app to cancel from that end so what do I do?

I've just opened the OVO website to input my meter readings, which I do on 6th of every month. I noticed that on my electricity meter reading, another reading has been added (not by me) on 13th July. It says "Network actual". Does anyone have any idea where this came from or why this was added? It is actually less than the reading I sent a week earlier. This is the first time I have ever noticed this. 

Today I logged on to update my meter reading and to make a payment and saw that a random meter reading had been added for my electric bill (nothing was added for gas)The reading says     20 Jul 2026 · Network actual 66689On this months bill it’s displayed as  19 Jul    Actual 66689.900 Both my electric and gas meters are located inside the house and can only be read from inside.No one has come to my house to read the meterI did not make or submit this reading Why has this happened, and how can we stop it happening again?

Hi,We tried to top up our pay as you go “heritage” meter and were met with a flashing display of “call help”. To cut a long story and multiple (poor signal peppered) conversations short, the engineers have failed to show up twice, and we’re still without a gas supply.Has anyone else had a similar problem, and more so, is there any way to circumvent the singular process put in place to deal with our issue? Regards, Customer666

Everything was normal. But since yesterday, I noticed the IHD unit shows “Waiting for Balance..” since yesterday, been about 24 hours now.. Unplugged and plugged back in, no luck. Thankfully, I topped up recently and still have electricity.  

I was asked today to dl the new top app by ovo to manage my account and top up but when I logged in to my account only my gas account is on there no sign of my electric so I can't top up my electric does anyone know a fix for this problem.   

Bit of background - I drive an Audi EV and have an Ohme home charger. Key points are that the charger is not supported by Charge Anytime but the car is, so I have paired my car with CA and use the charger as a dumb device. That all works fine and once I managed to get all the settings correct I have had no problems and CA decides when the car will charge - I just plug it in and let the system sort things out. I also have a solar panel installation supported by a battery; this is configured to feed the house load, then charge the battery, and then feed to the grid. I have an Ovo account which pays me for uploaded energy as well as providing my usual domestic supply. My charger is not solar-aware, unlike one or two more sophisticated chargers.And now the question! In this recent sunny weather my solar panels have been delivering 5-6kW during the day, most of which is exported and earns me 12p/kWh. Hi,      Does anyone know if the mercedes cla EV will work on charge anytime. It doesn’t have the fully electric CLA in the list. It shows the mercedes CLA 2021+ hybrid. My car is a 2025 model year. ThanksPeter  

Hi AllI have a new EV car and signed up for the Charge Anytime Tarriff, I see a credit against the tariff, but I seem to be paying for my full electricity usage (and the tariff on top) it doesn't seem to be reflecting the EV charge out of the total which is double my usage compared to last year?  I’ve seen that at the beginning of each month it should credit this back but for me it’s charging for the tariff, crediting back a small amount, but still charging me for the full consumption.  (This is the 3rd month on the tariff now)Anyone else getting this issue?  Thanks 

I may have a fault on my HD unit. My fridge and freezer are plugged in all the time. The meter shows yellow. Then I plug my kettle in and the meter shows red. This can’t be right. Any ideas please?

Hi all recently moved into my new home. OVO supply the gas and electric. I have already have my energy account set up. My issue is I'm interested in a smart meter installation which I already have booked for the 10th of September. The gas meter is in the living room and easily accessible. But the electricity meter is in the kitchen surrounded by some units (access might be a issue not enough room) can I just have the gas smart meter installed or do I need to cancel and reschedule my appointment 

I have just received an Email with details of my new Bill. That is all fine. However further down the Email is a section about replacing my gas meter, which states  Important: your gas meter needs replacing   Your gas network operator has flagged that it could become unsafe. This is because of its age, make or model.   The only problem is I don't have gas so how has a network operator flagged that up.   I presume this is just a mistake by OVO and will just ignore it. Has anyone else had this?   Thanks for your help.

I have just read that I don't need a 5port smart meter to get new quantum heaters is this correct .Have I just wasted months fighting to get one?

I am about to buy a Kia EV6 and I believe it is not compatible with the ‘charge anytime’ offerings, however, if have one of the two OVO recommended charger installed as per the recommendation here https://www.ovoenergy.com/electric-cars/smart-charger? does this allow then Charge Anytime offering/saving to be used? Many thanks in advance.

Hi All1st question so please take pity on melooking to get an Kia EV3 on the motabilty scheme ,they will install the charger (OHME HOME PRO)Ovo dont support these? however they say they support the EV3, but it needs to be able to use the internet?Sorry to say im over 60 and have no idea if the EV3 can use the internet any help would be greatfully received,i would rather not move supplier but if that is the only way to make it work i may have to.many thanksColin

Every time the price cap changes, my IHD fails to update the pricing it is using, and so the on-screen value is incorrect. I don’t always get onto it straight away but when I do eventually get to it I have to fight with online support for ages, when I already know what needs doing to fix it. They just need to send a tariff refresh message to the smart meter.If I go through online chat for support, they seem to be completely unaware of the possibilities to fix this relatively common issue. And I have to argue with them for hours to get them to fix it. I’ve done it three times now over the last couple of years. The third one, today, was a failure. They basically cut me off after doing an IHD remote reboot (which I know for a fact will not fix it; can explain how I know if anyone needs to know that).Am I even talking to the right people using online chat? They seem like they don’t really have much knowledge about the system they are supporting, and it’s very hard to get them to do anythin

I am really stressed and upset.  Earlier I topped up my prepayment electric key and when I tried to out it on the metre it said error:A4.I have contacted ovo, received a code for a new electric key but no shops have them, I have tried so many. I only have enough electric for 1-2 days, can't use emergency credit as the key doesn't work. I will phone up the emergency line but what are my options? Could they send out an engineer with a new replacement key  If I changed to a credit metre how quickly could they do it.  

IEC 1107 port ? Where is it and how do you get a reading from it Please. Our Landis Gyr E110 meter has become faulty and shows no Digit at the 10,000 space. Consequently we are receiving no payment for one of the sunniest 1/4s ever. I have looked it up and the brochure indicates that if you access the above port you can read the memory and we should be able to get a reading. Can anyone advise Please. I have tried to ask L&G they won’t come back to me. I have tried several P.V. electricians who similarly don’t seem to know how to do this. The only advise I have found was an Indian you tube which sadly I don’t understand but seemed to show exactly what I need.Please help, asking on behalf of my nonagenarian father

Every time i’ve tried to log into my account for the past week, i’m met with “We’re working on a new site for you”. I can’t see any info anywhere about a site update so can only assume something's iffy with my account?Any advice appreciated 

Since Wednesday my online account and my ihd have been showing zero credit. I know both my gas and electricity accounts are in credit but online accounts are not showing this. I spoke to customer support on Thursday and was told that this would be resolved at midnight when the system updated. As of today, Friday the problem is persisting. Is anyone else experiencing the same?
