Hi, I live in Dundee, Scotland which is a fairly large city, senior citizen currently on pre payment meter THTC and know all about the RTS switch off. Made arrangements with OVO to change over to pay as you go Smart meter, Engineer arrived yesterday and couldn't do the switch as the Smart meter failed to connect, he sent the relevant information to OVO that no installation had been made, what happens next?Engineer just said let OVO figure it out, can someone help

Hi, Any idea why my gas meter sends smart reading but electric doesn’t?  

I don’t get the hype and that they actually save money! You use what you use and don’t really want to get over excited about checking home displays every five mins. Benefit for me, though is topping-up (PAYG) meter without having to find a working sweet shop terminal.

Awakened this morning to find that the IHD showed a large energy cost despite no appliances on overnightwhich incidentally doesn’t match my energy useTried switching the IHD on/ off several occasions yet will not match the Smart meter energy cost display Also despite not setting a budget and cancelling it the display still continues to show a budget setI’m  assuming the IHD has developed a fault as can’t find any way to reset it so it matches up with the Smart Meter 

Why today have Ovo with no notice (& on the priority services register) suddenly changed my tariff from Economy 10 to Economy 9?

Just had smart meter installed in April, not charged for any Electricity since April.

hello,Has anyone on this forum successfully bypassed the date of birth question when making a card payment via telephone?I have been told that if you press star or hash it will move onto another security question. It does not and have repeatedly told them this.Thank you. 

Grateful for any advise/suggestions.I’ve been trying to get the 2 electricity (under THTC tariff) meters changed since I could first book an appointment in October 2024.  An Engineer did appear at this first attempt in October 2024.  He tried to install a smart meter (with economy 10 tarriff) but the signal was an issue.  Subsequently, I have had to keep phoning OVO to find out what was happening - OVO have never contacted me even though I have been told a numerous times they would be in touch.  I have twice more booked appointments in January and today which have been cancelled.  The first one I was told it was a wider area network (WAN) problem and OVO would be in touch in 8 weeks - this didn’t happen.  I phoned intermittently and was told the problem hadn’t been resolved until I phoned at the end of April.  Today the appointment got cancelled again for a system reason - I am still not clear if the WAN problem has been resolved.  I tried to re-book an appointment today but

When I'm logged on to myAccount, I can't seem to find any links to show me the currently available tariffs and plans (like the information I received when I had to renew). Am I missing something? The lack of a search facility from myAccount doesn't help either (or is that something else I've missed)?

Had one installed for the first time about 6 weeks ago, was told not to send in my own readings, but to let the meter sort itself out which could take a couple of months.Logging into my online account today it says:---Your electricity smart meter hasn't sent us any readings lately. To keep your account up to date, you'll need to send us regular manual readings.--- So, do I still wait, or fill in the online thingy to tell them my usage, or will that break something if I do ?I notice it says for entering meter reading:Off-PeakPeakOn the meter itself I says:Rate1 = 328 kwhRate2 = 883 kwhWhich is off peak and which is peak. :-)It also mentions+A Value is 01212 kwhThat seems to be alll the information the meter is willing or able to hand out.

Hi,This is my first post on this forum. I wanted to highlight as an OVO customer the critical safety error made by engineers. This nearly caused a house fire and led to the National Grid coming out and doing emergency work. I installed a smart EV charger a few months back in anticipation to getting a new EV. I bought the EV and then moved to OVO as a new customer. I had my conventional meter exchanged for a smart meter and OVO were aware this was being done to qualify for the Anytime Charge tariff. The smart meter was changed and the engineer noticed an EV charger was already installed. I was under the assumption that the electric wires (tails) were changing from 16mm to 25mm. This was to compensate extra load on the circuit. The engineer conducted a safety check and told me everything was fine. Moving forward a few months, I noticed a really strong smell of burning and hearing the sound of 'electrical buzzing' from my cupboard. Hi,It’s a trio touch button in-home display and it was fine for the first few months. I only have electricity and that’s what it displayed until a few days ago.Now it has a split screen showing gas and various gas options.Gas Usage is 0.0 of course, but I’d like to make the electric display full screen again. Unplugging it overnight didn’t help.I also tried deleting settings and then data. 

 I have the Indra App which works fine and it was linked to the Charge Anytime app until I deliberately deleted it today. The reason I deleted it was because I wish to use Solar to charge my car. I enabled the solar settings on the Indra app yesterday and for the first time I saw some regular charging activity during the day. I then read the article “How solar works for Indra customers in the Charge Anytime app”. OVO have been promising access to online account mangement via their new website for over a year now and it is still not available. Why is it taking so long to migrate customers from a legacy system? This is a task that should not be that difficult. Everytime I need to make a change or sometimes give an extra meter reading I have to spend ages on the phone or on the chatbot.

I have been using Charge anytime for years. Up to April the monthly saving on my app matched the anytime credit on my energy bill. For May and June there is a large discrepancy.n Anyone know why?

OVO have treated their customers who are on their legacy on-line portal very badly. OVO decided not to inform customers by email that their on-line access had been suspended and have failed to pro-actively keep us informed of when our on-line access will be restored. Despite being assured on multiple occasions that on-line access would be restored by the end of 2023 this is now promised in Q1 2024. Customers need to let OVO know that they need to keep us regularly informed and make it a priority to restore our on-line access by the end of January not the end of March 2024. A selection of my recent correspondence with OVO is below.   9th December“I am afraid I have no infinitive date on when you will be migrated over to our upgraded system, where you will be able to use the app.  When we spoke some time ago, we said end of the year However, let me take this away and see if I can get an update.”11th De

I have 2 IONIQ 5s, every time I want to charge one I have to disconnect one from the bluelink account and connect the one I wish to charge. Is there a work around? Or am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated.

Hi,I have just had a smart meter and IHD fitted - it’s an IHD3. I can see how to see my live electricity usage (ie electricity now button).However, is it possible to see how much gas is being used live?Thanks

Ovo increased their electricity standing charge massively in April. I have asked them to itemise what the Standing Charge covers and then justify the increase - they are refusing to do this.The Standing Charge should relate to the actual cost that Ovo has delivering electricity to your home. Those costs did not substantially increase in April.Wholesale gas price rises meant that the unit cost of electricity went up but that should not have affected the Standing Charge.Ovo have just taken the maximum that Ofgem allow the Standing Charge to be decided to charge it.You can try to avoid unit costs by cutting back on usage, but you cannot avoid the Standing Charge.Customers need to band together and get them to justify the increase.
