Well after some deliberation I've left OVO for Octopus.Reasons are:Inability to run Charge Anytime and Battery Boost simultaneously (...soon)Rebate system for 'add ons', making it difficult to reconcile usage and cost.  Compare with Octopus' overnight flat rate of 7p per kWh.The Ohme saga.Givenergy EV charger incompatibility with Charge Anytime. (...soon!)Limited customer support (has anyone at OVO called Octopus customer helpline?)Handing over control of charging the battery to OVO/Kaluza rather than controlling it myself.With respect to the final point, even though I left OVO a week ago, OVO/Kaluza still control my battery! This results in any programmed setting (the obvious one is to charge up overnight) is immediately overwritten and deleted by OVO/Kaluza.Those of you using Battery Boost and choose to jump ship please note.At what point do we enter complaint/ compensation territory?

Hi,I’ve been trying to setup Charge Anytime to connect with my BMW X5 50e.I don’t have a compatible charger but the car is listed as compatible.Ive downloaded the Charge Anytime App and successfully logged in. It all works up until the point where I need to log into my BMW acccount to give permission. The App appears to direct me towards the BMW USA site (I’m in the UK). I’ve setup an account for the USA site to see if this helps but now just get an error.Ive logged into my BMW UK account outside of the app to see if I can give permissions but can’t find anything.Ive emailed the Charge Anytime team but the only response was to contact BMW. BMW customer services have no idea what I’m talking about. I emailed OVO back and explained that and I think the issue is probably to do with Kaluza or Enode and where the app is directing me.Any help would be appreciated.   

Hi,I have just moved into a property and my tenancy is 6 months but the energy tariffs shown are all £101pm for 1 year. I have tried calling customer service but i keep getting cut off by the AI Bot. What do I do as i can’t speak to anyone?

I am owed money by OVO after closing my account when moving..I have sent pictures by email to them of final meter readings as asked for by call centre now I have an email asking me to call the call centre to give my final meter readings who have asked me to email pictures of my final meter reading.Any one able to help with next step please as it is nearly £400 owed to me when they took over SSE whom i was with before this shower came along..

Hello all,I have a new smart meter installed to replace two very old meters recently. After the installation, I realised that the hot water tank (again old style) couldn’t be turn on as it was during the peak time. Also the engineer at site said this would’ve always been the case which I didn’t understand. Because with the two old meters (one peak and one off-peak), I was able to turn on and off the hot water anytime I wanted manually. Now I feel like that I lose my control over the hot water, and it messed up with my lifestyle. I thought to have the economy 9 plan it would be cheaper to turn on the hot water at off-peak hours but didn’t know I won’t be able to turn on when outside the hours. So this is really not the plan for me.I’ve contacted OVO a few times already regarding this issue, as before the new meter it was completely fine, so clearly the new meter stops the hot water to be on when it’s peak time.OVO responses vary, some said to change economy 9 to flat-rate (single-rate)

I have topped up £100 on the 5th December, paying back emergency credit leaving £76 on my meter.Now today is the 8th December with only £9.87 left. I live in a 2 bedroom flat with one child. I have not used my cooker nor did any washing this week and my heating has been on low. What on earth is going on OVO?  when I call and ask for temporary credit, I have to pay it back putting me in more debt. Why? I do not need need this kind of stress. OVO you have already sent an engineer out to test my meter and claim there is no faults on my meter but looking at my spending I believe there is. I am fed up and frustrated. At this point, I'm lodging a complaint with my citizens advice bureau and I am demanding answers or my money back because this is ridiculous. This is not the time to be playing with money during this winter season.  

Hi, I’ve recently had some Solar panels fitted and I need to take an export reading for my SEG application. I have a Landis+Gyr E470 SMETS1 with a Trilliant comms hub identicle to this one:I’ve read a couple of guides online and tried to find the Export on this thing with no luck. Going through the menu I get;TimeDateCredit ModeStanding ChargeTotal Act ImportRate 01 Act ImportMeter Balance Anyone know what I have to do or is it not possible with this thing?

Hi - new to this forum - first question here….We are currently building a new house and would need to get a meter (ideally smart) installed.We have a 3 phase 200A incoming supply with a solar array (31 Kwp) with 3x Tesla power walls on the system.   The supply is a single family dwelling, domestic house only.The electricity provider (SSE) is bringing power to our plant room and providing a cut out where the new meter should be installed. Is this something OVO can assist with please?   Thanks very much.

Hi.  I am hoping to buy a SMART #1 electric vehicle in the not too distant future.  From the information I see on the OVO website I don’t think this specific EV is compatible with the Charge Anytime tariff … can anyone please confirm?  Also, at the moment, I am considering installing a Zappi charger which also does not seem to be supported.  Again is this correct?  And, assuming I am correct, can anyone from OVO comment in terms of SMART cars and Zappi chargers being supported in the near term?  Please note:  I do have a smart meter installed at my house.Thanks in advance

Just updated app to 2.2.0. Was working yesterday without problem. Today the app says I am charging away from home (I’m not) and does not show anything on the dial (it did yesterday). Anyone else having problems? - That said it has just charged to maximum.  

Solar panels were fitted over a year ago and despite many messages I can get MCS certificate to claim payment for electricity i send into the grid. What can I do?

Since then I have bought a plug-in electric vehicle and I think it may be more economical to charge at 'Economy 7' overnight rate. I have two questions...... 1) Is it possible to retrospectively change a smart meter to dual rate mode? 2) If yes, what are the current costs for each rate? Many thanks for your help.

Since BT in their wisdom changed my landline service to Digital Voice  ( I had no choice in this) I have not only lost my answerphone service but my IHD  is not showing anything, which is the most serious implication

I currently have boiler cover with ovo. I’m looking at the new tarrifs and it seems cheaper to take a new tarriff with boiler cover combined. It seems if you already have boiler cover you cannot have this tarriff. Why?

I am trying to get a smart meter installed but was told when they attended that there was a problem with the earth wire so couldn't install it. I rent so reported what was said to my landlord & they sent an electrician but I was told that uk power network would contact me but I never heard from them. I really have no idea and don't want to book another insulation just for the same thing to happen again. Anyone able to tell me what the problem it please. .

Good evening,I had my smart meter installed Monday.Since then I don’t have hot water or heating (storage heaters).I found out yesterday as for personal reason myself and my kids we weren’t home.i thought it might be because electricity was out and a reset my thermostat program but still not working. im calling ovo tomorrow first thing in the morning, but after reading some comments I just would like to ask to any of the members if is anything I should say to ovo for them to fix my problem as soon as possible?thank you in advance 

I have an OHME charger for my EV. OVO emailed me and told me that they were stopping use of the OHME app and I needed to install the OVO charge anytime app. I followed their instructions to the letter.3 days running I have tried to charge my car and the OVO app tells me it will be ready by 0700 - scheduled to ensure I get the 7p/kwh. 3 days running my EV has not charged.I have emailed OVO several times but they have not bothered to contact me (quite how they are number 1 for customer service I do not know) even though I have to,d them that I am disabled and they will incarcerate me in my own home as I rely on my car to get out and about.can any one help please? Has anyone else had problems switching apps? 

Several years ago OVO fitted two “Smart” meters and ever since then I have been unable to physically read the figures on the gas meter. The reason for this is because the meter is in a box in the ground and the “window” with the figures is pressed up against the side of the meter box.Assuming they exist, I need a meter that has the display at the top.Gas meters enclosed in a box in the ground are not unique but the inability to supply a meter reading scuppered my move to another Energy supplier a few years ago.OVO refused to change it because it was not faulty.The meters are several years old now & there is a black box (Zigbee?) plugged into the router to send readings to OVO. So can my elderly “Smart” meters be read by other Energy providers these days?I did read it was coming but that not all “Smart” meters are compatible.

Good afternoon all, I’m after any advice on a very frustrating issue we’re having since moving in to our new home in January. I have spoken with the Ovo helpline 3 times now and keep getting nowhere (helpline directs me to email, email directs me to helpline and on and on on etc!). Our home has an MPAN number which corresponds with the name of the property. I’ve triple checked this with UK power networks. The name of the property is the same as the Royal Mail database, the title deeds to the house and the local council reference.  It appears however that our meter serial number does not match with this MPAN, and is linked to another property name. We have spoken with neighbours, and there appears to be no house in the area by the name linked to our meter S/N, or certainly hasn’t been for 20+ years. The meter is a smart meter fitted in circa 2017, so it cannot be that old!  The MPAN for our house is 100% previously supplied by Ovo - again I’ve triple checked the details with UK PN. So I

I just moved into a new house, and the energy supplier is OVO. The units were running out, so i tried to top up, but it wouldn't let me do that on the app, so I had to do it online on the Web. My account was debited £20, and I got a prompt saying the transaction wasn't successful, yet my money hasn't been reversed, and I don't have units!
