Is the mercedes EQA compatible with the charge anytime  program yet?

Hi @Chris Western ,

According to the list I’ve got handy, yep! As long as you’ve got a 2021 or later EQA, it should work.

Just a heads up that Mercedes is a Beta integration, so it may not work perfectly - in particular OVO will have to manage the charge limits so please allow it to do so.

Thanks,  this means I don’t need a compatible charger? And it’s all controlled through the car and app?

That’s correct. You can do it directly with the EQA and the Charge Anytime app.

However, I would recommend you do it via the Charger if possible. What Charger do you have right now, or were you planning to get one?

I have a EO one that refuses to link to the internet anymore, so I was looking at getting a new one

Gotcha! In that case, I’ve got a few I can recommend.

Your best options are either Indra, Hypervolt or Andersen. All three are fully supported by Charge Anytime and means you can bypass the issues that the Mercedes integration might give you.

You can check them out at these sites:

OVO: https://www.ovoenergy.com/electric-cars/smart-charger for Indra/Hypervolt

Indra:https://www.indra.co.uk/ - the Indra Smart PRO or Indra Smart LUX is the one you’d want

Hypervolt: https://www.hypervolt.co.uk/ - please go for the Hypervolt Home 3 Pro

Andersen: https://andersen-ev.com/ - only the Andersen A2/A3 are currently supported

These are just the regular links so I won’t get commission or kickbacks if you use them - they’re the same as what you’d find on Google.

From what we’ve seen on the Forum, Hypervolt appears to be pretty popular and tends to be the most reliable, but you’re welcome to explore all three and see what works for you.

Let me know if you’ve got any questions about them. If you get any of these, you’d want to hook the Charge Anytime app up to the Charger rather than your EQA for best results.

Hey @Chris Western

Welcome to the Forum!

I’m glad to see one of our volunteers has already stopped by with some really helpful advice on this, I hope you’ve found it all very helpful.

I’ve linked below to a helpful topic on how to set up a compatible electric vehicle with Charge Anytime which may be helpful if you opt for that method:

In the guide for setting up charge anytime it says you need the vehicle app username and password, what vehicle app?

The instructions you need should be in the Charge Anytime app. The vehicle username/password are the ones for your Mercedes me ID account, assuming you have one.
