I have recently joined the Power Move trial but am already finding limitations with the time periods offered so far?The suggestion is to use dish washers, washing machine etc, but as today, if the time period is only an hour in length, the heating cycle is nowhere near completed when the hour finishes.i would suggest users really need 2hoyrs to be able to make significant ‘Power Moves’? any thoughts?

Our Aclara SGM1416-B was fitted on Friday 6th June 2025. Nick F was excellent, and answered all our many questions. In this remote Argyll location we have no radio control signal, but we do have O2 4G and the WNC UBC-TN6 SKU1 connects to it.  So all the worries that I've picked up from reading this forum evaporated.One puzzle is that off-peak switches on/off 10 minutes after the tariff changes. I know that the switching time needs to vary a bit in an area to prevent massive changes destroying transmission gear, but I thought that the signal change would coincide with the tarrif change.The IHD (IHD3-PPMID-AAA  type 1) shows the tariff changing at exactly the times listed for Economy 10, eg 2:30pm and 5:30pm, but the storage heating switches 10 minutes later. So we are charged too much for 10 minutes. I know this may not add more than about £50 a year, but it’s a niggle.   Is it likely to synchronise as the system settles down?  

No communication because the meter is too far away(1st floor up to 7th floor) The engineer said fit a battery in the back of the home unit so it resets itself then take it back up to 7th floor still no communication why the engineer could not complete the installation and do this himself i dont know he has walked away from it. I assume this is a job for OVO engineer.No comunnication

Hi, I've been sent an ovo code by text to use at a new key shop/ stockist to get a new key to put in my prepayment meter. (Having a key posted is not an option ) All the shops in a wide area that provide new keys that actually have them are not ovo branded keys but another such as Scottish power etc but on the phone the shops have said I can bring my ovo code and it will activate any of the new keys they have and still work in my ovo prepayment meter.  Several shops have said the same thing. My question- Is this the case please? Many thanks, Jonathan P.s.this has been a nightmare and phoning ovo doesn't help cos they don't understand exactly what I'm trying to explain. (Also, btw alot of the shops listed as stockists by ovo on phone actually only do top ups not new keys but nevermind that infuriation!!)

Had a MINI Aceman for 4 months now, charging successfully at home using a granny charger and the Charge Anytime app (connected to the EV). Smart charging always takes over the charging plan and has reliably had us back to 80% by 7 AM whenever plugged in.Plugged in as normal last night, received the expected 2 notifications (charging started followed by charging paused). Got up this morning and the smart charging had never resumed overnight, so car was still at 55%. It’s a bit unsettling with a long journey planned this weekend.What to check? Both MINI and OVO apps seem fine.

As an Ohme Home Pro user I wasn’t looking forward to having to use the CA app, a rating of 2.5 on the Google Play store wasn’t very reasurring.Once I set it up the app and connecting it to my Renault Scenic etech 2023 model the app told me I had a Renault Megane etec 2025 model. No matter what I did it was insistant, just for clarity my Renault account shows the Scenic. It must be my car as it does show the correct battary status. But not a great start.My first couple of 80% charges went well until I need to do a full charge as I was going away for a weekend. Plugging in the car (around 7.30pm) the app sat there doing nothing and after a couple of hours of me disconnecting and reconnecting and whatever else I could think of, it finally acknowledged the car was plugged in but told me I was away from home. Given the hour I let it charge but due this issue I didn’t get the reduced costs.I emailed Ovo that evening and a few days l got a reply, pretty generic, have I updated the app, is the

Before I tear my hair out anymore. Can anyone advise or give me a step by step what I need to do.I have the Ohme app which worked great. Plug in, accept and off it went. Until OVO have now, in a matter of words divorced with Ohme. I got the email with the step by step instructions which I followed. Since then I haven't been able to charge my car on the cheap 7p rate and the OVO app doesn't even recognise when the charger is plugged in!I have a Renault Zoe and also have been having issues with the Renault app. I am hoping there is someone out there that actually knows what they are doing as the help desk at Renault and Ovo, in a word are useless unfortunately

Anyone else experiencing trouble with the app. It’s very slow to upload.  Checked signal and all fine.  🤷‍♀️. 

I’ve tried to claim the reward for restaurants but couldn’t find the QR code. After looking at the map to see what restaurants are available the Rewards Company flag up that I’ve already used the voucher.it’s so difficult to claim a reward and get a voucher code and I wish that OVO would save the money and reduce our bills instead. It would be OK to be offered a reward if it could be used.

According to the online dashboard, the usage for yesterday is triple to what it was according to the smart meter.The online dashboard suggests we have used 31kWh yesterday, but the IHD says 11kWh.Any idea what is going on?The online portal also suggests we should increase the direct by almost 3 times, but this is not reflected in the actual usage. 

Hi, I can see there's an offer for 12 months free Ev charger cover. Does anybody know if there are any cancellation charges if the cover is cancelled within the 12 month free cover period? Thanks

I have to leave OVO as my car is not supported by them as part of the Charge Anytime fiasco. (Sorry but been with OVO for over 10 years and feeling a ,little burned by this) I would like to know before I start deleting things - Do I just delete the charge anytime tarif from my Ohme charger then move to another provider? Or is there a requirement to delete my account etc as I have sen on other posts but not sure if this just applies if you are moving to the charge anytime app charging etc? Thanks in advance

Anyone having issues accessing the OVO app this morning?

A quick question recently signed a tenancy and did top up electricity and gas £10 each a week ago. I've not moved in the property yet and my balance on electricity & gas is already below £5. Can someone tell me how does this pay as you go works and how can top up disappear when there is no electricity or gas switched on yet  Thank you for your help and advise 

Hi there, On Thursday I done an install at a customers house and I asked him who his energy supplier was and he mentioned OVO, I said you will get the 7p tariff but he said it is going up to 14p is this true?I’ve also been told ohme is no longer going to be compatible with charger anytime, is this true and what if you have a existing ohme charger?  

Have been told I can get 2hrs free electric per week via app. I cannot find how to do it. Old lady ,not very good at apps any help grateful 

So….I clearly should have spent time reading this forum instead assuming the OVO offers wouldn’t be so restrictive. I am having an Ohme Pod installed next week and recently changed from a Tesla to a Genesis GV60. I’ve just gone to complete the form to take advantage of the Charge Anytime offer in the app and have now discovered (after arriving here and reading a couple of posts) that I have possibly the most completely incompatible charger and vehicle combo! I chose Ohme as I have to have a specific brand as it will be linked to an Allstar account.Unless I am being really dumb, can anyone kindly confirm that there is no way I’m going to be able to access the discounted rate? My charger is also being installed on the 15th, which seems to be the cutoff date also??

Location ShetlandSmart meter (SKU2 celluar + mesh) fitted last Friday, 06/06/25.  Got electricity BUT it's not communicating with storage heater & immersion heater circuit 🤔Was told by OVO everything is working 'fine' and to get an electrician (at my cost) to check things over.Electrician has established all is working as it should, so back to OVO. Now they are arranging an 'emergency' appointment for an engineer, who will have to come from the mainland. This will only be arranged on Monday now, due to my remote location.Have to use the water heater boost to get hot water and I have no heating. Just as well it's not the middle of winter.I believe my issue could be due to a misconfiguration. From looking at info on the OVO forum, there may be a command that can reset the meter and yhos could be done remotely?!Anyone else had similar issues and have any tips/advice I can relay, so I can get this resolved. for nearly 2 years, I had an Inda Pro charger, and used their legacy Web app for charging.  I had ZERO issues since being forced to switch to the new app, and let OVO ANYTIME schedule charging, i have had constant issues the latest one, the OVO app, says my Car is not connected.  Yet both the charger app, and the Carr App show it is.if I leave it, the car will start charging under the anytime schedule, but my app says its not connected What a junk piece of software this is, please Ovo sort out the interface between APPS!!!!!!

In my Experian credit report, the OVO account section has some random late payment codes for specific months of about three years ago. These make no sense at all, as I never paid a bill late, and I suspect they may be related to the switch from SSE not long before that.Experian recommends to contact the lender to have the incorrect information amended, before opening a dispute if that doesn’t work.Did anyone have a similar problem? What’s the best way to get in touch with OVO to remove the incorrect information?Thanks!   

Whilst submitting my monthly meter reading on 11 June 2025, I read an offer from OVO to renew my current 1 year fixed rate loyalty contract that is due to end on 30 June 2025. I did not submit any renewal request at that time, because the offer was 2.2% more than I am currently paying. However on revisiting my account on 22 and 23 June, I found that the offer had been withdrawn and replaced with a higher cost offer, 4.4% above the previous offer. i.e. approx 6.7% higher than I am currently paying! This increase was totally unexpected and I submitted a formal complaint to OVO on 24 June 2025 entitled “Unexpected price increase with no forewarning”. Their initial response has been unsatisfactory, citing changing market conditions and revised pricing from 17 June 2025. I have suggested that increasing their fixed rate loyalty renewal price within 30 days of the current contract ending, without giving any warning of the impending price rise is sharp practice. Has any one else on the OVO Co

As per the title my IHD and gas meter are displaying a stupid amount of gas usage (£2302)for the first three weeks of this month. (My total gas usage for May was only £16) In fact £2000 would be approximately 4 years gas usage for my two bed semi detached bungalow. My online account details show a figure which is as expected of £5.13 gas usage for this month.  why such a discrepancy ? also my online account shows readings of 5719 have been sent on 20th 21st and 22nd Juneyet my Ihd and meter display 63769.440 under meter reading.i tried querying with online chat only to be told that consumption varies and basically the meter is a smart meter and will be correct.  Fair enough if the meter is sending in accurate readings,  but if Ovo were to manually read my meter or ask for a manual reading they’d be getting the much higher read.  I did ask if the reading on the IHD is converted at some point to the reading they use their end but was told  no.  My electric meter readings coincide with wh

Hi, earlier this year, I had an ECO4 grant, which has given me an air source heat pump, insulation and solar panels.A couple of months ago, I was contacted by the company that did this work to say that I was eligible for evouchers - four times a year, for two years, to set against my energy bills.  The scheme that these are going to come through is - www.affordablewarmthsolutions.org.uk   (This is not the winter fuel payment)So, I got my first evoucher today - £100 - and I’m not sure how to link it to my account, particularly bearing in mind that I pay by direct debit.I went online to Ovo, spoke with an advisor who told me that they couldn’t help with this, but gave me a phone number to ring.  I’ve just come off the phone to a very pleasant woman from Ovo who also admitted that she doesn’t know how to do this.  I suggested to her that I’d ask on the Ovo forum and she seemed to think that this was the best thing to do!!  Can anyone help, please? Many thanks, Cate

Hello, I would like to get a smart meter installed but my house (mid-terrace) apparently has a 3-phase supply, 1 phase each for me and my neighbour on either side. I was told by a different supplier before that they would have to visist my neighbours’ houses to turn off their elecytricity for installation and I would basically have to make sure that they are both in for an appointment. This is near impossible as one of my neighbours is hardly ever in, especially during the day. I did get a new fusebox a while ago and there were no issues at all with cutting the power for installation. Is this doable without my neighbours having to be in?Thanks
