How do I know how much cash left or how many days left for electricity or gas in the smart meter.

Good Afternoon. We recently had a power cut in our building. Shortly after that, when we got electricity back, i realized my meter had a blank screen and I could not see how much credit I had left. I contacted OVO assistance to book an engineer to come fix it, which they did, but I was worried that I could run out of credit before they come (almost a week later). They told me I should not be worried because when that happens the meter basically starts working as a billing meter, so there’s no possibility of me running out of electricity in the meantime. Could someone confirm if this is really the case? I really don’t want to call 105 in the evening and wait in the dark for three or more hours waiting for help to come. Thanks very much.

Hi, i wanted to pay bill by cash on pay point but they were asking me for a barcode to scan which I haven’t got on my bill. How can i do that?

I moved into a new property (owned) in December. It had pre-payment meters for gas and electricity with a key and card for top up. I had smart meters installed on May 3 and on May 15 received an email from SSE/OVO advising my final bill had arrived and could I log in and pay it. I have not received a bill and have never used emergency credit on either meter. After two hours of phone calls speaking to six different people, a two day chat in Whatsapp and thirty minutes on hold today I am no further! They advise I owe £60.27p however no one on any call or message system could confirm how or why I allegedly owe this amount, or whether it is for gas, electricity or a combination of the two. I have not received a bill and no one has been able to send me another copy of it. I was hoping to transfer to being a direct debit customer but I’m not sure about this as you don’t seem to be able to get finance correct when I pay in advance! Any other pre-payment customers receive random emails about bills that don’t appear to exist?!

Hello, Hoping someone can help me. Asked web chat for support but no response. My query is whether I can buy a top up card for my daughter’s pay as you go meter for her electricity to give to her to use ? She lives in another town and i hoped to see if it were possible for me to buy a card to give to her when i see her. From what I gather, it might be the case that she would need to use her card and that would mean that I would need to be with her when she tops up to pay. Is that correct ? Many thanks, Liz

My IHD says the standing charge for Gas is 298.93p per day?? This cannot be correct surely? We are on PAYG and my gas credit is disappearing fast!

topped up for gas this morning, still not been added to meter, 3 times this has done this £30 down for no gas

Hi, I have switched to a different supplier recently but foolishly topped up on your old key. I'm trying to find out how I go about getting a refund on the credit now on that key. I do have the receipt for that transaction and any advice on the correct way of going about this would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help I topped up my smart/not so smart electric meter on Saturday with £10 just before it was due to run out. Well I’m now running on friendly credit the £10 has been taking out of my bank I’ve tried entering the UTRN code but it says its already been used. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me and I usually keep putting extra money on. I’m so fed up with this I keep having to go outside to look at my balance as my indoor display never works. I’m fed up with OVO I never had a single issue with my previous supplier.

This message here is my last chance to get help. No one at OVO will help. They just pass me around, 10 times!!! Next step it to take legal advice. I have no choice! OVO support staff WILL NOT HELP!!! I spent two hours on the phone and spoke to 10 different people. And not a single one can help. The web site will not allow me fix the issue online as the house has a pre payment meter. I have to phone. My old OVO account was closed when I moved out of my flat a month ago. I could not be sure my purchase would happen. So I had no new address at that time. So the account was closed. I have now purchased a new house. The new house has a pre payment meter with a key I need an OVO account so that I can then buy electric No one at the OVO call centre can help. They just keep passing me from department to department. Why can I not buy electric from you? I want to give you money but you don't want it. I'm pay as you go and have just gone to top up, but the metre is only displaying the green light with no credit etc? I've put the key in and nothing, pressed the blue button and nothing. Im worried that I'm going to end up in darkness with not knowing when the fault started? We did experience a power cut a couple of weeks back. Can anyone advise? I've rang over and they're only accepting emergency calls such as no supply.

Hi, I've been sent an ovo code by text to use at a new key shop/ stockist to get a new key to put in my prepayment meter. (Having a key posted is not an option ) All the shops in a wide area that provide new keys that actually have them are not ovo branded keys but another such as Scottish power etc but on the phone the shops have said I can bring my ovo code and it will activate any of the new keys they have and still work in my ovo prepayment meter. Several shops have said the same thing. My question- Is this the case please? Many thanks, Jonathan P.s.this has been a nightmare and phoning ovo doesn't help cos they don't understand exactly what I'm trying to explain. (Also, btw alot of the shops listed as stockists by ovo on phone actually only do top ups not new keys but nevermind that infuriation!!)

A quick question recently signed a tenancy and did top up electricity and gas £10 each a week ago. I've not moved in the property yet and my balance on electricity & gas is already below £5. Can someone tell me how does this pay as you go works and how can top up disappear when there is no electricity or gas switched on yet Thank you for your help and advise

I have topped up £100 on the 5th December, paying back emergency credit leaving £76 on my meter. Now today is the 8th December with only £9.87 left. I live in a 2 bedroom flat with one child. I have not used my cooker nor did any washing this week and my heating has been on low. What on earth is going on OVO? when I call and ask for temporary credit, I have to pay it back putting me in more debt. Why? I do not need need this kind of stress. OVO you have already sent an engineer out to test my meter and claim there is no faults on my meter but looking at my spending I believe there is. I am fed up and frustrated. At this point, I'm lodging a complaint with my citizens advice bureau and I am demanding answers or my money back because this is ridiculous. This is not the time to be playing with money during this winter season.

I recently had an electric smart meter installed.(KAIFA) My old meter used to display my balance. How do I find my balance on the new smart meter?

I am a pay as you go customer (PAYG) who was an SSE customer. SSE used to send out a statement every 3 months showing usage and costs. I got changed over 8 months ago and can't get a billing statement sent out to me? I am told look at the app but the app is only for D/D customers so no billing info is available to download for PAYG customers, why? We all pay for our energy so why can't PAYG customers get billing statements sent to them? Customer service send me on a merry-go-round with no ability to assist and the Web site does not offer this service 'O' but they do for D/D customers are payg customers less important OVO energy? Sort out your app that allows PAYG customers the same service as DD customers, SSE offered this service via their app why can't OVO offer the same???

My gas smart meter display has always shown how many days I have left in gas after I top up, and obviously goes down, however it's just changed from this to the amount going up like it's now billing me, iv just topped up and it's the same, the credit isn't on my smart meter, and bill is still increasing, anyone else had this? Any suggestions?

We have bought a house which has pre payment meters I obviously want to a ) change details over b) get rid of pre payment I just cannot get through on the phone and it’s driving me to dispair there is currently no supply at all

hello guys, I purchased a £10 voucher few days ago and I think I accidentally put my receipt in the bin. My meter dome times doesnt show and just when it does i bin it lol It was from my topup card so wouldn't that show as not used? can I claim it in credit? thanku

I got this text the other day. When I log in, there’s nothing indicating this on my account, but the text automatically flagged as being from “OVO”. Any help much appreciated!

Please could someone advise if it's RTS meter? I asked OVO and they said they can't advise. I don't want to switch to smart meter just yet if I don't have to. The photos attached are of my communal cupboard where my meter is circled in red. There are 2 other meters serving other flats.

Good Afternoon. Shortly before I got my old electricity meter replaced by a smart one, I topped it up with 10£. I now have the smart meter running ok, but I just would like to know: is there a way that I can get that 10£ credit for the new smart one? I still have the old top up key, and the receipt. Could anyone let me know how I go about doing that? Thanks.

Why does my meter have to have zero credit before they will send and engineer, when the web page states to ring before your supply disconnects?
