Hi I bought my Ohme charger in Dec. Just 6 months ago. It was supplied and installed by Ovo. When bought it was compatible with Charge Anytime.  I have 2 Questions.  1. I bought the Ohme in good faith from Ovo as it was compatible with Charge Anytime.  Will Ovo be providing me with a new compatible charger free of charge? 2. If no to above and I am forced to seek an alternative provider will Ovo wave the £95 early exit fee from my tariff?

Hi I have a UK government workplace voucher. Does ovo accept this as part payment for installation of home ev charger?

I have an Indra pro and solar power system with battery. I don’t want the car charger to draw from the house battery as this will reduce its lifespan. I manage this by setting a period in the inverter (eg 1030pm - 330am) as a window for charging the car.this means I need to specify a time for the charger to start. This used to be simple - set a schedule on the car and plug it in when I liked. since the new app has rolled out it seems this is impossible as I can’t set a start time. Is this the case?

Hi Everyone, just would be interested in the thoughts of those original beta testers of the V2G - I don’t think the charger is eligible for the “charge anytime” tariff and wondering whether there were any other tariffs within OVO people had moved to. The standard variable, which most of us have been stuck on for a while, in my case, more than negates the rebate in terms of a competitive price/KwH. Thoughts? Thanks

I’ve set up Charge Anytime account and put my house on the map during set up. My car is on the drive charging now but app is saying it is not at home (so it charges as soon as I plug in).There are no settings option in the app to adjust things like my location??Anything I can do?

Has anyone else been having problems trying to get CA working over the past 2 weeks?I’ve had spells of 2 or 3 days without any CA schedule and very intermittent at other times, with often short intervals at unusual times.The CP is a Hypervolt Home 3 Pro. Tried all the usual tricks of reboots, re-register CP, amending schedule, checking its over greenest periods etc.Up until this period CA has been reasonably stable and predictable.“Urgent Charge” works fine, but obviously attracts the higher price. I’ve had to resort to this most days. So the costs are now starting to mount up.I haven’t been able to get any response from the CA team via their email process, so will try calling next.Hypervolt have investigated and state this is an OVO problem and they are aware of issues OVO have been having with CA.

I have recently signed up for charge anytime for us at home with my Wallbox charger and Mercedes EQC.I have followed the instructions, linked my car etc and set the “ready by” time on a few occasions yet the car has never charged overnight and I'm forced to manually check and start charging early morning.  I cant think what I'm doing wrong - is there anything that I need to do in the Wallbox app? At present when I plug the charger in, the car starts charging immediately which I then manually stop in the wallbox app in the hope it will charge at some point overnight using the the charge anytime app/tariff. Am I supposed to stop the charge like this?  Cant think what im doing wrong - would appreciate any assistance.

I got an email from Ovo asking me to take part in a review of the new upcoming app. Concerning they were not interested in customers that had the Ohme or Indra chargers….as Ohme was de-supported recently I wonder if the Indra chargers are next!?

Updated on 05/11/25 by Ben_OVOHi all, Like many customers, I’ve been affected by the OVO-Ohme fallout.  I have the Ohme ePod, recommended and installed by OVO, and a Mercedes-Benz CLA 250e. I've recently deleted my Ohme account and started charging via the Charge Anytime app.  Mercedes only have beta compatibility with the Charge Anytime app but OVO assured me that customer’s are using it without any issues.  My experience so far is concerning. As soon as I connect my car, it charges at full capacity instead of smart charging on and off throughout the night like Ohme did.  However, when it reaches 50% it stops and shows as complete. I go into the Mercedes me app and the vehicle settings have been changed from 100% to 50%. I change this back to 100% and it starts charging again at full capacity until complete.  

I have an EV due to arrive in about 2 weeks. We are with EDF and have solar panels on FIT, but no smart meter. We are looking to move to OVO Charge Anytime, but I am unclear about whether we will need a smart meter, whether I should get EDF or OVO to install it, and what order should the installation of smart meter and charger and account transfer happen. Can somebody advise please? I assume that we will need an Indra Smart Pro, but I would also be interested in whether that charger is also supported by other energy providers. The car is an Audi E-Tron if that makes any difference.

Hi I own a Hyundai IONIQ Electric 2022, and unfortunately I don’t have a driveway. Is there a way I can use Charge anytime? 

HiI moved over to using the Charge Anytime app successfully last month when you guys instructed me to do so when the issues with Ohme were identified. This has been working fine and no issues. I have however noticed that the app is saying reconnect your car which I am trying to do but getting an error when putting in my Mercedes me details. When this fails I get a TAN number from Mercedes via email but no where to enter it in the app. I am concerned that I may not be getting the charge anytime rate, which will be disastrous for me. Can you advise or help please 

As I have reported elsewhere, I have had issues with the change to charge anytime with the location pinpoint map being out of date and not showing my 3 year old house. That is now resolved and one of our cars ( a Toyota RAV4 Plug in Hybrid) is now behaving properly. However our VW ID3 which is a pure ev  will not smart charge because it keeps turning off it’s location data. Speaking to VW it seems that I have to pay a subscription of £129 to enable this function. As we only save about £40 a month it would take three months to recover the subscription charge. Thank you OVO/OHME. I do not understand why the system needs to know which car is connected to the charger, the charger knows a car is connected. Therefore it can charge the car at the reduced rate when the power is cheap. Why do they need to know which car it is? Presumable to stop people “ selling” their cheap  electricity to all and sundry. Hi, we live in a house with 3 phase supply and on Friday we are replacing our existing meter with a 3 phase smart meter. However having read another post about Charge Anytime not working with three phase I’m now not sure if I should go ahead with the change to a 3 phase meter or do I need to swap it to a single phase smart meter? Any advice gratefully received - thank you :-)

Followed all the instructions on how to charge through the chsrge anytime app  not the ohme charger. I've just set a schedule in the charge anytime app, plugged in, app can see car is plugged in. App says next schedule after 16.00. Car is charging straight away, Ohme app says smart charging! Worked so well before Ovo and Ohme fell out.

So I recently got my home charger installed. It's a Project EV Apex, not on OVOs list of directly supported chargers, however I have a 2023 BMW i4 which is.The experience so far has been abysmal, never had more that 14kwh go into the car via smart charge. It changes the cars schedule to be ready for 4 days time and in the bmw app the charging status is just stopped not paused.  Is anyone else having issues with their BMW? I really hope there's just a setting I need updating or something because this is the worst app I've ever used.

Had a MINI Aceman for 4 months now, charging successfully at home using a granny charger and the Charge Anytime app (connected to the EV). Smart charging always takes over the charging plan and has reliably had us back to 80% by 7 AM whenever plugged in.Plugged in as normal last night, received the expected 2 notifications (charging started followed by charging paused). Got up this morning and the smart charging had never resumed overnight, so car was still at 55%. It’s a bit unsettling with a long journey planned this weekend.What to check? Both MINI and OVO apps seem fine.

As an Ohme Home Pro user I wasn’t looking forward to having to use the CA app, a rating of 2.5 on the Google Play store wasn’t very reasurring.Once I set it up the app and connecting it to my Renault Scenic etech 2023 model the app told me I had a Renault Megane etec 2025 model. No matter what I did it was insistant, just for clarity my Renault account shows the Scenic. It must be my car as it does show the correct battary status. But not a great start.My first couple of 80% charges went well until I need to do a full charge as I was going away for a weekend. Plugging in the car (around 7.30pm) the app sat there doing nothing and after a couple of hours of me disconnecting and reconnecting and whatever else I could think of, it finally acknowledged the car was plugged in but told me I was away from home. Given the hour I let it charge but due this issue I didn’t get the reduced costs.I emailed O

Before I tear my hair out anymore. Can anyone advise or give me a step by step what I need to do.I have the Ohme app which worked great. Plug in, accept and off it went. Until OVO have now, in a matter of words divorced with Ohme. I got the email with the step by step instructions which I followed. Since then I haven't been able to charge my car on the cheap 7p rate and the OVO app doesn't even recognise when the charger is plugged in!I have a Renault Zoe and also have been having issues with the Renault app. I am hoping there is someone out there that actually knows what they are doing as the help desk at Renault and Ovo, in a word are useless unfortunately

Hi, I can see there's an offer for 12 months free Ev charger cover. Does anybody know if there are any cancellation charges if the cover is cancelled within the 12 month free cover period? Thanks

Having moaned here about the change to charging, i thought it only fair to provide an update.having switched to charge anytime but being unable to fix my location because of the crappy map, which apparently some people think is not the fault of OVO, personally I think if you use a service for your customers, you have a duty to ensure it is fit for purpose but….ehnayway, I wrote to the support, after 7 days, stony silence, I rang support, after another 7 days of total silence it has suddenly started to work, I.e. recognise that one of our cars at least lives here. The other one is away right now but there are issues with that one constantly turning off its location data for no apparent reason. So I now need to monitor to see what gets reported, so far it has cost me about 5 hours of my time and about £50 in lost rebate. It would also have been nice if the support boys and girls had bothered to tell me they had sorted my location issue. BUT THANK YOU ANYWAY

I have to leave OVO as my car is not supported by them as part of the Charge Anytime fiasco. (Sorry but been with OVO for over 10 years and feeling a ,little burned by this) I would like to know before I start deleting things - Do I just delete the charge anytime tarif from my Ohme charger then move to another provider? Or is there a requirement to delete my account etc as I have sen on other posts but not sure if this just applies if you are moving to the charge anytime app charging etc? Thanks in advance
