OVO having installed a Givenergy AIO battery Gateway and PV panels about 6 months ago, I now intend adding an EV charger. The EV installation team now insist that additional groundworks are completed involving drilling through a 3m thick granite and concrete wall.The solar and battery installation (using a 5m long catenary) was signed off by OVO engineers as the only reasonable method of connecting a detached garage to the meter box without drilling through the aforementioned granite wall. The panels and AIO are up and running and working fine and appear safe as the catenary is 4m above ground. Has anyone else faced this situation as the intention was always to add an EV charger at a later date?Failing that, does anyone know a reputable installer in the SW area (Plymouth)? 

I know this might seem obvious to some people but how do I stop charging the car during scheduled charging if I need to use the car? I’m reticent to just try and pull the cable out of the car charger point, is there an option in the OVO app to stop charging, I have an Andersen A3 charger.TIA

We’re considering installing a charger at our house. Will either of the chargers Ovo install work with any type of electric car? Are there any drawbacks with Ovo installing a charger as opposed to a local specialist electrical outfit? 

I don't seem to get my Indra pro to smart charge my BMW for the last 2 days . It seems to connect and shows waiting to charge Via the app but after leaving over night it didn't charge. I can boost charge it via the app so I don't think there's a communication  problem . I'm not sure what's going on as it's been working for months with no problems. Tried a reboot etc to no avail. Any ideas ?

I have just had a Hypervolt Pro 3 charger installed and have the Hypervolt app and Charge Anytime app. My wife has a hybrid vehicle and wants her own charge anytime app. is it possible for the 2 apps to be on the same account?

Hi all, I’m a newbie to EVs and have just plugged my car into my Hypervolt Home Pro 3 and set my ready by time to 8pm this evening. The Charge Anytime app is displaying a status message of “Planning your next charge” but I’m curious how long this should be in this status and I’m wondering how soon it’ll start to charge the car. Any help would be warmly welcomed. Thanks. 

Charge Anytime was working great with my BMW iX3 until a week ago, then the CA app stopped recognising when my car was connected. I removed the car from the app and when trying to re-add it, got the following, but there’s no way to accept the Ts & Cs. Help please? 

Having not long moved house and new to how everything works I have a headache trying to work it all out! We have solar panels on the original FIT scheme, an air source heat pump and a Pod Point Solo3 7kw charger already installed. We are about to buy  a 59kw/h electric car.  Am I best going for a heat pump tariff which is around 14p/kw 3hrs at night but also at 1-4pm  or an EV tariff which is around 8p/kw at night? 

Is there a list anywhere of which charging networks you can use with the Ovo charge anywhere card?

Hi, just had my hypervolt 3 pro installed and very helpful engineer. One thing I’m struggling with is how to use grid energy to precondition battery, before a journey.i ask ChargeAnytime to be ready by 7 and I might be leaving at 8am, with my old 13amp charger, I could tell the car, leaving at 8 or even just getting it to defrost by manually setting it and it would use grid energy saving the battery for the journey. i don’t mind that the preconditioning is on a more expensive rate, but I assume the charger won’t accept the request from the car and just use the battery.  Is there anything I need to do, or is it just the way it is? colin

Maybe I should ask this question, but, Ovo offer the Hypervolt Home 3 Pro for £999 if you go to the Hypervolt website its £690. Both fitted both with the 5m cable if you want 7.5m its an extra £100 with Ovo and £42 from Hypervolt am I missing something? Given a £310 saving from the manufacturer is there something extra Ovo are offering? Is the only way to get Charge Anytime is if Ovo charger is bought through them. It feel like i am being negative on the Ovo forum… apologies! Many thanks for your advise in advance.

Hi. I'm new8 to EVs and have just a charger installed.  As OVO offers a flat rate of 7p per hr for charging, I've added Charge Anytime.  I've gone to do my first charge and am confused. I want the vehicle charged by 7pm tonight. I've set that in the App. That's 3.25 hrs from now but it's not started charging. If I hit urgent charge, it says I won't get the credit back so I'm not getting the 7p anytime rate. It's very co fusing to a newbie getting to grips with everything EV. My immediate.reaction is that the claim of a flat rate is false but I know that can't be the case. Any help or explanation would be much appreciated. Thanks  

I have been using the charge anytime since August but has suddenly stopped working. I tried deleting my car from the app and reregistering but my car is no longer on the list. Being a pensioner I find it difficult to cope with the technology, any ideas?

I’ve just moved over from Octopus as shifting usage to off peak hours wasn’t working that well and I figured it would be cheaper to have the slightly lower rate plus charge anytime that Ovo offer. When charging my car with the Octopus integration I could select a percentage to add. So if I had 30% battery I could pick ‘add 50%’ and when I got in my car the next day I’d have 80% battery.  In my car’s manual (Peugeot E-208 GT 51kwh) it recommends to only charge to 80% for regular use to avoid battery degradation.  With the charge anytime app and Ovo integration there doesn’t seem to be an option to add a specific percentage - although I have seen and read reference to, ‘set the amount of charge to add’. I only seem to be able to charge to 100% with no option other than the ‘ready by’ setting. I want to be able to select a percentage of charge to add. Has anyone used Aurora SEREN 600000 EV Electric Vehicle Car Charging Point 7.4kW 230V with OVO Charge Anytime? 

I just installed Charge Anytime for my Mercedes EQC 400.I have it set on Min 50% and Max 100%.  My question:Why can’t it just be set to a 100% charge, or even 95%? I don’t want it to only charge 50%. I’ve tried it twice and all I get the car charged is around 50% but I need the battery to be fully charge for my longer journeys. It’s quite stressful not knowing if I’ll have enough battery or not when I leave the house in the morning.Is it meant to work like this? Why can’t I just set the % I want it charged at? The highest I can move the Min charge to is 50%. I’ve contacted OVO but they’re not getting back to me. Thanks.

Hello,I’ve just bought a Volvo PHEV, but where I park is outside my home WiFi zone. The car has the facility to connect to the internet via an in-car SIM. My question is, how much data do I need if I’m connecting to Charge Anytime every night? I’m charging with a Mode 2 cable and 3-pin plug.Thanks.

I have a Kia Niro EV and a Pod Point charger.  After some initial incomplete transactions, I now seem to have the system working OK, but the savings are lower than expected.To avoid peak rates, I started the last two chargings at around 1:00 to 1:30 am each time, with the car itself set to charge to a maximum of 80% - both times from existing levels of around 40%.   As expected, the details shown by my PodPoint App show charge amounts of 30kWh each time over around 4 hrs each time - so finishing well before 7 a.m.For 30 kWh the Charge Anytime rate of 7.07p/kWh compared with my OVO rate of 27. 07p/kWh gives a saving rate of 20p/kWh, so I expected to see saving of around £6.00 for each charge.   However, in my Charge Anytime App, savings are shown as around £4.00 each time.When I sent copies of my data to Charge Anytime at OVO, I received a re

I’ve just received a quote from OVO to install an Indra charger.  It reads…“We are happy with all the information and your quote of £1354.99 is ready to be sent through, along with the corresponding payment link.We are just awaiting approval from your local DNO before we are able to do this. Once we have received this approval, your quote and payment link will be sent to you.”As a result I’ve since received several emails from SSEN asking for further details so they perform a “load check”I’m almost certainly not going to go with the OVO quote as my local, certified electrician will supply and fit

I’m a non-OVO user considering using the Charge Anytime tariff.If I carry out the compatibility checks for my EV and charger for Charge Anytime it says I am OK - provided I lie about my solar panels and say I don’t have any.If I click the radio button for ‘yes, I have solar panels’ (the truth) and re-submit, it tells me I’m NOT compatible for Charge Anytime.What is the reason for this? I haven’t found anywhere that explains this restriction.Thanks and regards 

Has anyone been able to make sense of their charge anytime credits on their bill? For the 2nd Quarter running I’m trying to reconcile the credits with the electricity used according to the Indra app and, yet again, there’s a big difference between the two - always in OVO’s favour!Using the data from the app I’ve been under credited by £65 over the quarter, in fact as far as I can see I’ve been under credited ever since starting on Charge Anytime 6 months ago. It’s not helped by OVO simply stating “Charge Anytime Credits” and no further detail eg how many kW the credit has been applied to. Yes, you can work it out but I don’t want to spend a couple of hours checking my electricity bill every quarter and then spending even more time trying to sort it out.

After a small number of charges with the Charge Anytime bolt-on I can see a credit on my OVO account so it seems to be working albeit with a few small issues.The sign up process asked if I had one or more EVs so it would follow that the ability to add more should be available or if a manufacturer account which is connected to the Charge Anytime account has multiple cars within it there should be some mechanism to either manually select which vehicle is waiting to be charged or perhaps Charge Anytime should detect which is ready to charge automatically. I need to charge a second car which is in my "My Renault" account but am still waiting for a reply regarding my situation and what I should expect to do to make this work. Does anyone know how one can switch from one car to another or to connect Charge Anytine to multiple vendor accounts? (For example Renault and Vauxhall or two Renault accounts). Any help much appreciated so I can char
