Anyone out there have any experience with BYD's and charge anytime? Thinking of replacing my Mercedes EQA with a seal but it's not on the list of compatable cars. Dose anyone know if this might be added anytime soon or will I need to change my charger to a compatable one (current pod point)

@Chris78 thanks for your post!

I hadn’t heard of BYD before - been reading up on them after reading your question and they look great!

As @BobTom and @Blastoise186 have helpfully suggested, you’ll be better off with Charge Anytime through the charger itself. We currently have no plans for BYD to be compatible. This could change, of course, however going through the charger is generally the safer bet, and encounters less potential issues than going through car.

To let you know, from Thursday 22 May 2025 customers signing up to Charge Anytime will no longer be able to onboard with their Ohme charger. This doesn’t affect customers currently onboarded with Ohme and Charge anytime. If you have an Ohme charger and a compatible EV, you’ll be able to sign up to Charge Anytime via your vehicle instead.

To sign up to Charge Anytime you must be an OVO customer and have an eligible car or charger. We’re constantly looking to open up the eligibility to more EV models and chargers - so if you don’t see your tech here, keep an eye on our page.

You can see all eligibility details in our Charge Anytime page here.

We do offer charger installation at OVO. If you follow this link you’ll be able to view the Charge Anytime compatible chargers we install, and you can request a quote for installation if you wish 😁. Let us know if you decide to go down the charger route! We’ve got some great topics covering this subject 👇

I dont see it on the list so I think you should look to install a compatible charger -  Anderson Ohm or Indra. There are a couple more.

Great choice of car BTW. I am looking at that one for my next.

The full list of Chargers is currently:

  • Andersen
  • Hypervolt
  • Indra
  • Ohme

Out of those, Hypervolt seems to be the most reliable and easiest to live with based on what we’ve seen on the Forum.

BYD isn’t currently supported upstream by Enode. You’ll be waiting some time for it to be Charge Anytime enabled...

Hello

I am an OVO customer.  I am just about to buy a BYD ATTO3.  I assumed I could charge at home and take advantage of the Charge Anytime low cost tariff.  Apparently the car isn't compatible with this tariff.  Does anyone know what options I have?

Many thanks, James

Hi @jim2500pi ,

You can make this work via the Charge Anytime app if you get a compatible Charger - try Hypervolt as that works extremely well.
