I am shocked, surely this cannot be correct?  I understand websites being down for sometimes a few weeks for updates, but when I tried to log into the OVO Energy website today only to see the message “We're in the process of migrating groups of customers to our new website so access to your online account won't be available until the end of 2023” I was quite frankly flabbergasted.  And with absolutely zero warning that this was pending.So is that right, will there be no website for up to 9 months???How will I monitor my usage in these trying financial times?  How will I be able to check when my peak charge times are?  How will I be able to check whether my direct debit is adequate to cover my monthly costs, and how will I be able to change it? How will I be able to view and compare historical bill values?  And how will I be able to view and compare any new fixed rate deals that might become available.Seriously, this kind of potential duration of outage of online services would be scand

Forgive what must be a rather strange question, from two, completely at a loss, octogenarians.We live in a two bed flat in a protected environment, which was built in 1992.The flat uses electricity only:Heating, rads, immersion heaterCooking, microwave, hob, ovenWasher/DrierLighting - all low energy bulbsShower, towel railsTV, computer, BBI make a point of lowing heat settings and turning off heating in rooms not in useOur bill for electricity has skyrocketed, now at over £812 in debit, with a suggested increase to a monthly  DD to £431 to achieve a year end balance.We are also now informed that we are using 103% more than other similar properties, how can this be?Any thoughts/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 

Good morning Im new here and looking at changing my supplier from British Gas who have been shocking.On 3 different occasions they have been out to fit a smart meter at our bungalow and on all 3 occasions they have not been able to do this because the engineer has not got the meter required because our gas and electricity meter are more than 5 meters apart. I would say they are a maximum of 10 meters away with no major thick walls in the way.They have now on the 4th occasion cancelled our appointment before even getting to us saying they have a shortage of engineers then saying no smart meter available.we are wanting to upgrade our aging current car to a EV but with the mileage we do require to be a EV tariff to make it worth while . Is this something that OVO can do if we switch suppliers as OVO has been recommended.

Hi Folks, I was reading the very helpful posts onEcodan FTC- Had a nightmare trying to balance the house temperature?as as i was getting to the end, I was sure I was going to get the answer I need but i didn't. I have a very similar issue to the OP, except my FTC is indoor so its saying the heat is currently much higher than the room stats which are Danfoss. I have UFH downstairs and Rads upstairs, so on 2 Zones. The compensation curve is giving enough heat downstairs but not upstairs, especially at night for the little ones, so I want to swap control the heat by the room stats. I have 2 stats down stairs and one upstairs. I don't have a wireless controller, but surely my system can run off the Danfoss stats? any help would be great. 

I am on Economy 7 from 12 to 7.. At precisely 7.00 a.m. every day tariff changes to daily rate as verified by smart meter console (which readings tally exactly with my bill every month). However the storage heaters do not switch off until 7.06. This means that every day I am charged for 6 minutes at the daytime rate when there should be no charge at all. The smart meter was fitted new a year ago. When I realised what was happening I contacted Ovo thinking this was a timing issue which could be remotely adjusted. Ovo however decided to send an engineer to check the meter, After they had twice cancelled the appointment they then decided to try the remote method. This didn`t work however so they decided to fit a new meter. They then cancelled this latest appointment and made another. Then the contractor (SMS) rang to cancel this one and made another, an engineer finally turning up with new meter last week. He was adamant however that the meter was not at fault, saying that it had been set

Hi we have a PHEV & an EV. It’s important to us that both charge at the EV charge rate.The Kuga has over the last few months stopped charging & we’ve had to plug unplug to get it to restart. Now when I leave it to charge overnight, nothing.Please can you help. Currently this is the only reason we are with OVO and there isn’t much point in staying if it doesn’t charge both our vehicles.Thanks

How do I get a 100 amp breaker switch  fitted to my supply to assist with the connection  of my solar / battery system?

Hello, I had been using Anytime perfectly since March, however, the release of the new version with multi-car support (great idea) doesn’t work anymore. It seems to be stuck thinking it is 8:27 yesterday morning so not recognising that the car is plugged in charging. This will obviously mean that I’m not getting the reduced rate and the car is just charging immediately when plugged in as if the Anytime set up doesn’t exist. Is this affecting others? 

Smart meter failed.  No display. Will not wake up, no warnings (Audiable) or on the smart meter in-house display  Spoke to Cadet they said the meter faulty.   Why do smart meters fail closed?  The fail appeared on Saturday afternoon, Central heating boiler detected no gas ignition.  Cadet said OVO are responsible for the meter and require it to be replaced.  Just seems mad to fail closed.  No heating/hot water for nearly 2 days.I assume as the fault is with the OVO there will be a compensation owed for inconvenience. Meter approx 10 years old.

It says on my bill, It was applied to my acc, but I also had £120 in credit, which I had paid in.Its doesnt seem to add up. £150 + £120 = £270. That doesn’t appear on my Nov bill. Has anyone else noticed their targets being reduced as you hit them?I started out on 0.9 kwhthen 0.6 when I hit that too easilythen 0.5 and 0.4 …OVO really do seem to be having a laugh I have to agree with other posts on this forum.OVO are certainly not losing money - only their customers are

We live in a new build home and have a 11.2 kw ecodan air source heat pump . Radiators warming up in zone 1 ( downstairs)  but not in zone 2 upstairs . All radiators have been bled . See pic . Zone 2 shows as on , can hear it working but no Heat to radiators ( can see difference between actual and target temp ) . This has only happened very recently after installers were here as some of the radiators in upstaters were not heating . They fixed saying that not all were ‘fully open’ . We had heat in all for a few days then it stopped . Can someone advise or guid please ? Mitsubishi have suggested it could be a valve issue that slits the flow between zone1 and 2 .  

HiI am moving into a house where OVO are the gas and electricity suppliers. I am with Octopus and want to stay with them so have applied to transfer my account to the new house. The electricity supply is transferring over ok but OVO have blocked the transfer of the gas. The only way forward seems to be opening an account with OVO just for gas. Is this possible? Going on the website and applying it seems it needs to be both supplies only and when I called OVO the person I spoke to didn’t seem to want to help. Any suggestions?

My IHD6 unit no longer functions. So far as I can tell it is physically undamaged. It is plugged in, with a full battery, and visually appears to be trying to work, but it resets/reboots every 1 minute 14 seconds, in a continual cycle. This started suddenly sometime in mid December 2023, perhaps 15th or thereabouts. Has anybody else had this problem? On the second email attempt, I got a response from OVO by email and the lady has said to me “what I did was request that your IHD's firmware be refreshed, which can hopefully get your IHD fully smart and operational. The firmware update should fix your IHD's display in the next 48 hours, in the meantime, please put the device as close to your electricity meter as possible. After 48 hours, can you please switch off your IHD and turn it back on again?”I have done this and I wait and see, but I am sceptical it will work because the IHD6 is not on long enough between resets for the connection with the meter (top left hand of screen) to stop fl

Hi there,    Just as I was turning everything on (including the lights) after today’s Power Move Plus session, we had a local power cut, which lasted for about ten minutes!!!!  Did we all cause a local power surge, when we turned everything back on simultaneously???  At least it did come back pretty quickly.  Took a bit of explaining to my lodgers and visitors!!!     Rgds,            Steve    

Charge Anytime IssueMy electric car has a “pre conditioning” setting at first I thought this was just cabin temperature but I have later discovered that if the vehicle is plugged in it also pre conditions the battery which is a very good thing now the nights are so much colder. Using ChargeAnytime connected to the vehicle it see this “pre conditioning” as charging and prevents it as it is not a cheap time. Suggested ResolutionsRead the pre conditioning times from the car via API and allow the use of electricity during the period (even if at full rate) and/or have a button in the app to enable/disable this feature.This maybe too time consuming/resource intensive to configure the api for each manufacturer. Enable a feature in the app to allow for manual “always on” schedule, meaning during this period the car will charge if not up to configure charge percentage and/or if at charge percentage still allow electricity for per condition task (even if at full rate)Whilst this is a manual meth

It’s important I know the difference with simplier energy and a pre payment metre. can anyone explain to me the difference between these two as I been trying to get hold of someone from owo the pass 3 days im a new customer and I don’t want my electric to cut off so is it a pay monthly plan out my direct debit???

Trying to get answers as to why my warm home discount has not been applied ...received an email from OVO stating it would be applied by 27th November.  Its not been done ..They have told me it's the government that pay it not them? Government told me its OVO that pay it not them?Why can't I get a straight answer????

HELP!! I paid and booked to have an isolation switch installed to charge an electric car back inMarch 2023 , 4 times they have been booked and not turned up.every time I get £30 credited to my account for wasted a morning of annual leave. This is truly disgraceful no one can help all the staff at ova do is book another appointment. no contact to or from SMSL Every time they don't turn up they credit my account and this is all well and good but who is paying for this? ultimately it is us the customers … Its the most awful service from a company who have rocketing prices and bonuses. 

Will OVO introduce variable DDs where a smart meter is installed?

 Hello All,  Firstly, sorry, if this in the wrong place.  I’m now 4 weeks into a new electric smart meter but I find the live status and changes in the online account portal, very stressful. I keep topping up with extra payments but I don’t think I should as the credit amount covers the upcoming month’s bills.  From 8 weeks, the portal should show recommendations for my Direct Debit and/or credit amounts.  I’d appreciate any advice.  Many Thanks, youngeru2  

I do the readings for my mum who is 89. her meter went past 9999. According to OVO all you have to do is submit the reading - but this just doesn’t work. It wont accept a reading lower than the previous one. So I tried to get them to change it by phone - a long hard struggle where they want me to post photos to prove it ! Eventually the guy said he would record it but then added the new reading to the electric instead of gas. It doesnt seem like the staff are aware of the problems either. Mum doesnt want a new meter or a smart meter - sometimes when you get to 89 you just want an easy life and up to date billsCan anyone confirm if this facility actually works without a phone call ? I have asked for a bug to be raised to address this - OVO should test their systems !
