I have recently moved into a new property that uses a heat pump.  It seems very energy “heavy” at the moment.   I check the readings hourly and use around 10kw every hour as things stand at the moment.  The system is set to run 2 zones and both zones make use of the consumption curve.  House is not boiling warm but is confortable around 10deg but just cannot see why the pump runs 24/7 non stop.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Is it standard to use so much energy on the heatpump on cold days and does this alwyas run 24/7.  

I’ve had two emails from OVO either ha able subject. When I click on the link I get taken to a page that says ‘Thank you for being with us. We don’t have a fixed rate plan at the moment’. I guess the marketing department are having issues. 

Hi all, Could some kind person please explain to be if i am misunderstanding something here. When I use the OVO app or the web aplication (I get the same figures) if I compare the daily usage for a given day the figure is wildly different between the “Month” view; 13.11kwh  and “Day” view: 45.66kwh. Please see the screenshots for 2nd Jan. This is not an isolated day, every day is similar in the disparity. My bill is based on the lower figure 13.11kwh and on top of that OVO then discount with the Heat Pump Tariff so the amount I pay becomes even less. If you compare the amount my Heat pump uses 30kwh and the daily consumption figure from our Solax inverter (44.52kwwh) it would seem the higher figure is the correct one. How is this possible, anyone got an explanation please?

I’ve had Charge Anytime for a couple of months with my Audi Q4, and it was working fine. Recently it’s not been working well and missing charges and therefore no credit with the Charge Anytime App. I decide I’d remove the car from the app and try adding it again to see if that would improve things. However…….now I can’t even add my car to the app. I just get a message saying “the vendor is currently experiencing issues on their side, please try again later”. I’ve had this for over 24 hours now. The only reason I switched to OVO rather than Octopus, was for Charge Anytime. But, if I can’t add my car and get the good rate, what is the point!? Whilst I appreciate this may not be OVO/Kazula’s fault, they are still saying Charge Anytime can be used with an Audi Q4.  Anyone else having similar problems?

Hello, I was moved to OVO from SSE.Pay as you go. I built up some standing charge debt which OVO took approx 80% of every top up I made (which made trying to keep my home warm during the winter impossible!) I tried to get the % of each top up they took lowered, however, they would claim they had done it on the telephone, but didn’t. i did a web chat on several occasions, asked to complain and was told “you can’t complain, it’s debt” and they would end the web chat on me. I paid off the debt and transferred to another company. i received my final statement from OVO, keep in mind I was pay as you, and they claim I owe them £1000, saying in one month my gas consumption alone was £614. i was on pay as you go, I was unable to use gas I did not top up my meter to use. My standing charge debt I had run up was paid off before I left, but they claim this debt on my final statement is actually gas consumption. i have tried to complain again about this and get it rectified, but they constantly tr

The website today shows the last smart meter readings as 30 September. Last night’s readings should be logged as 1 October. Have the new charges caused a problem? I have SMETS2 electricity and gas meters. It is now 10am on 1 October. My in home display is working.Readings seem to have ceased at 00:30 on 30 September according to the app. 

Gas top up card stopped working at the paypoint, phones customer support, they gave me a code, wait 2 hours and get new card,.. Nearest place with any cards was 45mins walk,  off I go, gets there code wouldn't work,  fones back, gets new code,.. Goes back to shop that one didn't work.Fones back up they said they had booked an engineer for between 8pm - 11pm,... Its now 1.10am and guess what? Engineer hasn't turned up.Im Cold, ( no Heating), I'm tired, I've no hot water, it's a gas cooker,..and a gas fire, I'm not impressed.. going to be fun trying to get the kids ready for school in morning.Will I be charged for this engineer, even though he didn't turn up?? 

I have had the “Sorry you are leaving us” email from OVO today, which turns out to be an “erroneous Transfer” error, I know this is supposedly a Human Error as I never requested it, what I do not understand is, if I want to send you a message, speak to you via phone, or just have a look at my account, I need to submit my full name, account number, password, and email address. Yet someone can transfer me to another supplier by typing in the wrong Meter Point Number. I think you have problems with either your security or protocols. You should at least check with your customer that this is the case before sending “Sorry you are leaving us” emails, I am now told it will take between 12-18 weeks to resolve, I am not happy with this outcome after spending 1.5 hours on the phone and messaging you about the problem.

Hi, I am relatively new to the EV arena, so any help on this would be great. Recently installed a ICS charger and set up my new OVO anytime account with my Tesla, when you look on the Apps, everything appears as it should. I tried the set-up last night and when I got up this morning no charging had taken place.I understand that OVO talks directly to the Tesla and tell it when to start charging based on the lower cost energy rate, but how does the ICS charger need to be set-up to tie into all this? Thanks

Hi, we recently reported a noisy gas meter that was making a throb. OVO were fantastic and agreed that although not dangerous it would be very annoying and sent an engineer to fit a new one along with a new smart meter. For a few days we had blissful silence.... but then yesterday the throbbing returned. it is now even more regular (albeit not quite as noisy) and driving me insane! we have had work done and it is now secured to a stud wall and I’m wondering if this is not helping?! Please tell me this isn’t a normal sound on a meter and that something can be done.... I can’t tune out from the throb throb throbbing....... :weary: Thanks

We had our solar panels fitted at the end of June. Sine then, despite six or seven emails to the FIT Team, all of which generate an automated response promising a reply within five working days, I have heard nothing. So much of the wonderful sunshine of the past few weeks is going to waste or certainly not going to my bank account. So almost two weeks ago I registered a complaint with OVO which resulted in me being informed of….guess what? You guessed it, they’ll aim to reply within five working days!!! Still heard nothing from them Absolutely shocking service from a company we have been with for a few years now and previously rated very highlyI would be soooo grateful to hear if anyone else is being ignored in the same way? 

Hi there!  I have received my warm home discount £150 voucher.It's telling me to take my voucher to my local post office as its come on the letter from Ovo.  I want to know,  do I take my pre payment key/card  to the post office also??? Any information would be much appreciated!! 

I have an ecodan heat pump in a new rental.  Currently spending up to 50kw some days to keep house warm.  2 zones.  Upstairs zone 1 radiators.  Downstairs zone 2 underfloor heating.  Underfloor set to 19.5 and upstairs radiators set to 19.5. More than happy with heating in the home, but not sure how to drive down the usage?Compensation Curve came to mind, but not sure what would be the most optimal settings. HW come on 2 times a day to heat to 49deg C and thats about it.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  

We are new to solar panels and have received only 2 payments so far, very disappointing does anyone else have a problem with how much they are generating and who should I contact!

tried tobregister new ovo card on gas meter, came up with CALL HELP….I did this at 11.35am only to be told I had to wait till my credit went down to 99p, rang again at 2pm they said an engineer would be out in 4 hours, now 9.15pm no engineer or call, no heating can't make hot food, breathing is suffering,  no priority number to call, have emailed complaining to them, no doubt like today will be fobbed off, think its disgusting you can't get a human on a Sunday night

Hi all. Has anyone signed up for the Tesco offer but not received their Clubcard points?I moved to Ovo in Sept 24 and signed up for this offer. Both my smart meters sent in readings in early October, but a couple of weeks later I received an email saying that I didn’t qualify as I hadn’t got a smart meter! After a call to customer services, they agreed I had, but said they’d moved my meters to daily readings (which I thought I’d already done). I presumed this action would “generate” my points, but nothing doing as yet.Just be interested to know any thoughts or similar experiences?

I have a new smart meter and I’m newly on Economy 9. I have 4 newish Dimplex storage heaters. One is larger and a medium one and two smaller ones. As well as an immersion water heater. The meter replaced a faulty meter which was preventing the correct tariff working. I’m on pay as you go  However I’m finding that it’s costing usually over £10 a night. I have checked and the majority of this is used at night and I can see the usage during the night is approximately £1.25 per hour and then drops to about 10p per hour during the day. It just seems excessive as it’s almost £300 a month for a 2 bedroom house!I have tried switching off the immersion heater or 2 of the heaters but this resulted in no hot water and an expensive reheating of the tank the next night and didn’t really make much difference. I’m assuming that the other heaters then used more electricity because the temperature was lower.  No gas in my area  Can anyone please help? 

Hi all,We built a house and it was finished in 2019.  Its to the latest build spec regards to insulation and the likes.  Its over 3 levels, ground, first and second floors.  Its 5 bedroom, two main baths, a downstairs WC and one en-suite.  Downstairs the layout is a kitchen diner, utility with downstairs WC, living room and office.  The two bedrooms and one bathroom on the top floor have their radiators all on frost stat upstairs so never come on. The first floor has radiators and 1 thermostat for the entire floor.  Its set at 17C in the height of winter and I put it in the bathroom - which the temperature barely can reach.  This floor is fully carpeted except the bathrooms which are Amtico vinyl. The ground floor is all UFH, with Amtico vinyl flooring.  Each room with a Heatmiser thermostat. Last year (2021) was a mild year.  I had the thermostats in the rooms we use (dining/kitchen the living room and the utility set at 18C.  The hallway was set at 15C so was the office as we dont us

Thanks all for all the various valuable info about meters, the switch overs and installations etc pending. We currently are in the West of Scotland (mainland), have all electric and old economy 7 box etc. On the THTC. The folks at OVO I've spoke to already have offered economy 7 (overnight), economies 9 and 10, which is basically split over 3 periods in 24 hours. Questions are i suppose is as currently we're on overnight off peak, but aware that the off peak would be split over the day, which may be handy for being savvy with new style electric Quantum heaters we have (got rid of the old brick ones) and timings. The direct unvented water cylinder we have is 210 litres, any ideas whether then this would be heated 3 times a day for example with economy 9 or 10 rather than the current overnight? I have a hypervolt charger fitted, and connected to OVO anytime app , but I am unclear how to use the app for charging. Are there any clear instructions I can access for charging my car?

I have read through some of the forum topics and it is well-documented that Mercedes and Indra/OVO has an as yet unresolved problem, that being the maximum charge level is re-set to 50% by software Gremlins.I wanted to start a dedicated forum topic about this issue and keep it going until it is resolved, because this is not a minor inconvenience. It would be THE reason for me to not have ordered and signed a finance engagement for a Mercedes EV, or paid over £1000 to OVO for a charger. In my circumstances, charging at home is a key reason to have an EV. Without that, I would go back to a diesel tomorrow.I will update the thread when Mercedes replies to me by email, now that I have been able to pinpoint the issue for them. Hi everyone. Has anyone been through the process of having their electricity meter successfully removed from an asbestos backboard, in order for both to be replaced?  A little context. We have an older style meter which has developed a fault (the readout has gone blank). We’ve had a smart meter installation aborted twice in the last few years with quite vague explanations as to why and no follow up. The fault in the meter has now thrown up some answers as to why the installs were aborted, but having reported the fault, we’ve been sent back and forth between OVO and Scottish and Southern with no one wanting to help or offer advice.  What is the process in these circumstances? I know the backboard is our responsibility but I can’t imagine anyone wanting to deal with the meter without the consent of the DNO? Any help would be muchly appreciated.Steve-o.

HiI am using the ovo charge anytime app to charge my EV. However, the past few nights the app is starting the charge well before the schedule time. Currently my car is around 60% and I have scheduled it to be fully charged for 7am tomorrow and the app is starting the charge at 8pm. This is unusual as it doesn't take that long to charge 40%. It usually schedules it around 11pm. Is there an issue with the app/schedule?

Good Morning, I’ve recently added Charge Anytime to our account, however as our charger (Zappi v2) isn’t compatible, I’ve gone down the route of linking the Charge Anytime app directly with the car itself (BMW i4), which is where the problems have started. So to provide context, before we added Charge Anytime, I was using the My BMW app to control the charging, preconditioning and vehicle preferences. In my case I had a schedule set up, so the car would precondition the batteries and warm the cabin prior to departure, however since the Ovo app ‘took over’, the preconditioning functionality has gone haywire. It appears that the schedule I had in place (Mon-Fri 7am departure), keeps being replaced with bizarre times of the day and night (I had a random 3am departure scheduled the other night) and no matter how many times I go back to reset, it keeps happening. Somehow the Ovo app is clashing with the manufacturers app and essentially rendering the preconditioning functionality useless, w
