Hello allOVO customer with OVO installed solar PV and battery (carried out by Gastech, model is a Solax Power) In the Solax app I often see arrows indicating my battery is being charged by the grid rather than by my panels. The figures also sometimes run into negative numbers, and my SEG payments exist but seem smaller than anticipated (Eg £20ish for Autumn) Pics attached - the meter I believe is the solar meter (bottom left, second pic) has a blinking red light.Is there anything obvious wrong here?  Thanks

Smart meter installed/replaced today, will update if any issues. Engineer was a lovely chap, gone for economy 10 as split over 3 sections in 24 hours. Just minding on we have a 210 litre unvented cylinder which was wired to heat in the offpeak previously, this should remain the same ie heat during those new off peak timeslots? Also the old economy 7 boost box was left in situ and advised to continue using this for a boost if required (but hopeful the boosts will be less necessary if heating up the water during 3 slots during the day). There is no boost function on the new meter. See pic of meter and said boost box/new meter set up.

Can a smart meter be installed in a basement/cellar? My electric meter is in the basement and gas meter on the ground floor about 4 meters apart.

Hello. How long does it take to receive change of ownership notification and more importantly given the current financial situation when will I receive the monies generated by the solar panels feed in tariff. I purchased my home on the 28th of February 2023 the lady I purchased from was an ovo customer and had her FIT set up.The estate agent is now asking me on behalf of the seller when she is going to be released from ovo control. Thank you. 

Hi I have a Geo Trio 2 IHD with Wi-Fi.  The IHD is connected to both SMETs 2 meters.  However the online setup is grey out.  I’s there anyway to activate this?  OVO are being a nightmare at present with communications.  They sent me an email to reply to due to some issues with my smart meters auto sending readings.  The email is only a couple of days old, and they asked me to reply to the email.  I have done so and the email address is no longer valid.Thanks 

Does OVO supply a type of In Home Display unit for smart meters which also shows generation from solar panels?  Where can I find user and  installation instructions?   I want to know if there is a meaningful comparison of electricity usage vs generation (including setting FiT rates), and I want to know how it connects e.g. to inverter’s wifi or current clamp onto solar wire.  

Well I had the latest version 2 smart meter installed in October (8 weeks ago)but was not left a manual nor is there an online version (only for version 1). Whilst daily usage is being communicated to the portable device that you plug into a wall socket it seems that my account is only picking up the electricity readings and not the gas. So the question is 'how do I manually read the smart meter for gas?

After a small number of charges with the Charge Anytime bolt-on I can see a credit on my OVO account so it seems to be working albeit with a few small issues.The sign up process asked if I had one or more EVs so it would follow that the ability to add more should be available or if a manufacturer account which is connected to the Charge Anytime account has multiple cars within it there should be some mechanism to either manually select which vehicle is waiting to be charged or perhaps Charge Anytime should detect which is ready to charge automatically. I need to charge a second car which is in my "My Renault" account but am still waiting for a reply regarding my situation and what I should expect to do to make this work. Does anyone know how one can switch from one car to another or to connect Charge Anytine to multiple vendor accounts? (For example Renault and Vauxhall or two Renault accounts). Any help much appreciated so I can charge at the reduced rare. Thanks  Gaz

Having installed a Givenergy AIO system to take advantage of OVOs Battery Boost (automatic, overnight charging at cheap rate), we are now turning our thoughts to an EV charger.OVOs Charge Anytime add on (7p per kWh EV charging) is only available if you choose from a list of compatible EV chargers ( Givenergy isn't on this list!).Are there any plans to ensure compatibility of the new Givenergy EV charger as I would prefer my equipment to come from the same manufacturer? I'm assuming that Givenergy will produce an EV charger that is compatible with its All in One battery?Thanks.

HelloI am trying to switch to OVO using the online quote facility. The quote defaults to the wrong supply address and there doesn’t seem to be a facility to change this. The incorrect supply address is a flat in the same building as the main house. Any advice on how to get the correct supply address on the quote?Note that this is not a new problem. A previous switch resulted on a gas meter from one address and an electricity meter the other being transferred but I was assured that the central database had been updated to stop this happening again.

can someone confirm the serial numbers of these meters?electricgas 

on 1st feb, my electricity consumption increased from about 10kwh a day to nearly 30kwh. I was not even at home on 1st feb nor for the following weeks (have been away since late Jan). The readings have remained at the higher level since then, even though the house is empty. Over the same period, my gas usage dropped from 4kwh a day to almost 0. Which makes more sense.Has anyone had the same issue? Its not like it has gradually increased. Thanks.

I have logged in using the same email I have to buy the Tokio hotel tickets for 2026 and I bought them on alt.tickets and I already have gotten the confirmation email and everything but when I go into access my tickets on the ovo arena app it says I have no upcoming events and when I click the why I can’t see my events button it says after I bought them it should display a few hours later but it’s been a week and there not there

I have just signed up for switching to a new supplier but remembered that I also have an active boiler cover with OVO until October. Will this switch have any impact on the cover itself? 

Can OVO provide a new gas boiler? 

Hi everyone I had £14.97 credit on my pay as you go meter i had a smart meter installed 4 days ago and the 14.97 has still not been added engineer who installed smart meter said it could take up to 2 days anyone have any advice Thanks

My gas had run out whilst I was at work. I went and topped it up but by the time I came home the supply had been disconnected. I have credit in my account as shown on smart reader but I don't know how to reactivate the gas. Can anyone help please 

We recently in Dec 2021 had a large PV solar install completed on our house.  A new 24 panel [385W each] Solar array at 8kW by a seemingly professional company. Disappointingly the install has issues, the main one being that the house utilty meter has the same consumption rate as before the solar install started!  This suggests there is wiring config. or equipment fault issue somewhere or the meter cannot cope with Solar supply since we are having large Solar Yields!         Either way we are none the closer to getting either the solar installer coming back to fix it in a hurry [I don’t think they understand it!] or the Utility company to check  the meter!   All this in rapidly rising energy prices ….. pause to weep …… seriously this is cry for help please, we have spent a fortune for nothing!        One thing that stands out to me, being a lighting engineer [as a I have some electrical knowledge - although a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing!] is that the Solar Installer has w

My direct debit has jumped from £127 to £182 which I can't afford. It kept going up last year and I ended up being in credit and getting a refund of £200-£300. I would rather have a lower bill each month, especially at this time of the year the usage will be lower. I'm trying to find out if I left OVO, do we pay in advance or arrears, don't want to have another bill. Thanks.

Hello,At the start of the year, I change my billing type to ‘fixed’.This coincides with my smart meter only showing £0.64 daily, no other energy usage.I suspect this is the standing charge rate.I have turned the meter off overnight hoping it would reset, but it still only shows £0.64.Any ideas?

I'm at the end of my tether with OVO. I applied for the Warm Home Discount on 04 Oct 23, and I received an e-mail on the same day saying I had qualified for it and I would receive it by 15 Nov 23. I still haven't received it. I've spent the last 2 weeks phoning, e-mailing and having web chats with OVO. I've been given excuse after excuse why I haven't received it, all of them different. I thought I was getting somewhere about 1 week ago when I spoke with an OVO staff member who went through my application with me and told me everything was in order and that I should have received it. He said he'd look into it and get back to me, but I never heard from again. I've tried to complain, but I get generic replies. One staff member from the complaints team e-mailed me yesterday saying she has tried to call me but can't get through. She tried to call me once and she left a voicemail. The number she left to call her back was a general number and when I phoned it, they had no idea who she was or

I have a 2 yr fixed dual fuel contract finishing on the 29th Sept.The fixed deals for the same from Ovo have been reduced slightly in the last week, but are still higher than some other suppliers and above the price cap rates that come in on 1st Oct.Shall I wait to see if OVO will reduce again for fixed deal, go onto standard variable, go onto standard variable for a short while and then get a better fixed deal? 

In July 2022, I was moved to the simpler energy variable plan (electricity only), as my previous fixed 2 year plan had ended.  I didn't have any choice in this as I couldn't afford any other fixed rate plan on offer.  I’m on a Smart Meter.  Direct debit payments were steadily increased until in Jan this year I reached the limit of what I could afford.  I cancelled my direct debit, paid the Feb bill by credit card a day early and have now set up a Standing Order for the maximum I can afford to start 1st of next month.  My latest usage tells me I’m in credit to the tune of nearly £50.  I was paying 0.32p per kwh but since my DD was cancelled Ovo have increased this to 0.36p which of course has only made my life harder.  You can’t get hold of anyone to speak to and the only time I managed that they were utterly useless.  I’ve sent emails but have never had a response or even an acknowledgement, the Whatsapp facility elicited no response either and the Chat Bot is useless.  I have to go wi

After endless problems with Scottish Power I'm looking to switch and am really interested in OVO (I've been a previous customer and should never have left!). However I currently have a twin rate meter (Economy 7) and would like to move to a single rate. My current meter shows the single rate as well as the two E7 rates. Am I able to join OVO and use the single rate reading or submit the two rates? And if not I understand I would need a meter change. Do OVO charge for this and if so how much?Thank you for your help.
