I have a free boiler service included with my plan.The engineer sent a text asking me to book. That was two weeks ago and I've called and sent numerous messages but they aren't responding.I'm very annoyed as I've waited 6 months for the free service.Can I cancel this part of the plan and be compensated as I will now have to call my regular engineer?

I live in Inverness in a property on THTC.  The the old storage heaters were replaced by a previous owner with electric radiators that run on the 24-hour cheap rate, therefore they are not controlled by RTS.  Hot water heating is still controlled by RTS and switches on automatically twice a day.  I work from home 3 days a week and over the last few years, I have used between 5500-6000 kWh per annum. Yesterday,  I was offered a date in April 2025 to swap to a new smart meter but couldn’t complete the booking as OVO told me I had to decide there and then which new tariff to switch to.  I was offered Anytime, Economy 9 or Economy 10.   OVO gave the off-peak timings for Economy 9 and 10 with the respective unit prices.  So, I worked out a breakdown of all the times I am at home, out of the house, and total usage during each month.  It turns out that most of my usage would be during peak rate hours, therefore I wouldn’t benefit that much from access to off-peak rates.Has anyone formerly on

Our SSE FITs account has just been transferred to OVO - already we are singularly unimpressed by the ‘help’ OVO customer service have provided, and reading through the horrific stories on this forum of FITs payments being delayed by 6 months and more, we feel that we should remove our account to someone who gives a (insert expletive) about their customers. at the earliest opportunity.  We were only given a week’s notice by SSE that our account was being moved.  So, two questions: how do we shift to another FITs Licencee (we have the Offgem list and our current supplier is one of them - better the devil you know, as they say); Second, as our last payment from SSE was for the period up to June 2022, how do we get a final payment for the third quarter plus any intervening days at transfer out of OVO without having to resort to *edited by mod*

Hoping someone here can help because this has been an on-going battle since before OVO took over SSE and it’s gotten progressively worse recently. I live in a house that’s meters haven’t been checked, inspected, whatever since at least 1993.  I have two meters - one for my storage heaters and water tank, and one for standard electricity.  I’ve been trying to get this changed to either a smart meter if available OR just a standard single meter with a day or night rate. I have email chain(s) going on with SSE/OVO (One email chain is using @sseenergyservices.com and the other is @ovo.com hence posting here) that I seem to just be going around in circles.  I finally got through to the Electric Heating Team (EHT) about two weeks ago who changed me onto a single rate THTC tarrif, so both my standard and heating meters are at the same rate - but based on the readings that I’ve been providing, it’s still nearly 500 a month just for two storage heaters and a water tank.Has anyone else had probl

We’ve very recently had an air sourced heat pump (ASHP) fitted and there are lots of gems on the forum (and elsewhere) which I have been looking at to remind me of some key things to consider.There are a few items which I can’t see an answer to and as yet don’t know the pros and cons about. Circulation pump - on demand or continuous? Heating - set a schedule or not? Setback - useful overnight or not? Quiet Mode - does this affect efficiency? DHW - schedule and reheat or just schedule?I realise a few things are personal preference but there will be some who have more knowledge from experience.

We have never been able to get our 3-phase AMR meter (economy 7 tariff) read remotely and OVO say they are unable to do so. We have to send in readings. Is this because of lack of signal (postcode Edited by Mod) or because of the type of meter?

Until recently, I could be fairly confident that OVO had retrieved my midnight meter reading and yesterday’s usage data by the time I signed in each morning. There were occasional delays; once or twice one or other of the data sets didn’t arrive until later in the day.Now, I find that the data aren’t appearing in my account until more than 24 hours after the event. No data for Saturday had arrived when I switched off at 01:00 last night. This makes the billing details for the current period unreliable. At 01:00 on 17 March, I was seeing energy use charges for 15 days and standing charges for 16. Now at 12:00 I’m seeing a different balance, because the use charges are still for 15 days but the standing charges are for 17 days. I learnt that this was a consequence of the move to MHHS, but I don’t understand why this would affect the retrieval of meter readings - the basis for live billing. Would things get back to normal if I were to withdraw consent for half-hourly data for settlement? 

Is anyone make sense of their progress %  shown on the Power Move dashboard (on the OVO app) since 1/3/25?  I keep a spreadsheet which has more or less agreed with the dashboard in the past but this month it’s quite a bit out.Also, does anyone know when the % that’s updated on a Monday after 8pm, is that the % upto  midnight on the day before? Thank you   

I have an ID3 and charge anytime - it has been working perfectly but …..The app dashboard has recently started to show that I need to sign in again on my vehicle … I have completed this and there is no change … the account page on the app does not load at all but the charge savings page shows the connected car and the daily smart charge costs, so its working !I have deleted and reloaded the Anytime App with no change.Because the dashboard page says “additional steps required ….” I can't use the charge level or override to charge now features.The VW app has also been deleted and reloaded with no change Help please 

Hi.I'm currently on economy 7 tariff (didn't realise until recently) so got in touch with ovo to arrange for me to be put on a single tariff, however does anyone know why the change could take up to 35 working days (7 weeks) Is it worth waiting or would I be better off looking elsewhere?  

Hello,I'm an ex-SSE customer that was migrated to OVO in June 2023.I had a new smart meter fitted on the 16th of December 2022 by SSE and since then I had an issues with the Economy 7 tariff.Initially, all appliances connected to the off-peak rate circuit (port 5) were always ON instead of turning on and off during rate changes.After contacting SSE support and later on OVO support multiple times, on the 17th of July 2023, OVO sent an engineer that supposedly fixed our issue but instead it changed to the opposite way:All appliances connected to the off-peak rate circuit (port 5) are now always OFF during both peak and off-peak hours.Our heating system consists of storage heaters which are all connected to this off-peak circuit so we are now effectively without heating.We contacted the OVO support multiple times about this issue with no luck.They sent multiple emergency and non-emergency engineers and none of them was able to fix our issue beside worsening it on the 17th of July.By going

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I have a Mini Aceman E and the compatible EV list has the Mini Aceman SE included, but not the E.  Is this an oversight or is only the SE model of the Aceman compatible? If not I’ll get one of the compatible chargers like the Ohme, but ideally I would like an Easee One charger which currently is not compatible. Thanks!

Hello. I am moving to a new house and would like to stay with OVO. In the old house I paid based on the fact of use. Now when I try to re-register everything online I am offered a tariff plan 2. But I would like to stay on the payment by the meter for use. Online does not make such an offer. How can I switch to a new house without buying a tariff plan?

Hello everyone  We’ve just bought our EV and having the Hyper Volt Pro 3 installed today. I’m a little confused  if we need the Ovo Anytime App where we can connect the app to the car (our EV is a compatible Volvo XC 40 Recharge), or do we connect the HV charger to the EV, in which case will the HV charger now when it’s best to charge at the greenest charging rates? According to the FQA you can do either?? Not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. 

i think there might not be anything i can do since the gas per unit prices has increased in jan 2024 as announced before. so OVO take my readings automatically which is correct, however i regularly chekc my account, it was £90 last i checked 2-3 days ago, when i checked yesterday, it has now shot up to £215...talk about having a heart attack lol. my mum is on holiday so im currently in the house by myself in a three bedroom, i only use the heating for 5 hours per day since start of december. il show picture showin december 2023 and then this month: ^ left hand side is gas for decemebr, right being january this month. how has it gone up 6x?my last bill was £160 for gas and elec, now i could potentially pay in the next bill £330-£350 can someone help me with this please? is there a way round this at all?

Dear support I am facing issues with Smart charging (Charge Anytime) not working. Since starting this process in January I have had numerous issues and never once have I just plugged in and it just worked, usually requires several visits to plug in / unplug etc until the app registers the car being plugged in and overrides the immediate charge on the Cupra App.That aside my problems are worse right now - plugged in today and as usual the Curpa starts it’s (temporary) immediate charge. This is meant to stop immediately, as soon as the Ovo app registers the car being plugged in. So I tried the usual dance of unplugging / plugging. Ovo app keeps saying ‘Car unplugged’, while the Cupra is charging at full rate through ‘immediate charge’.  So I decided to delete the vehicle from the OVO app and re-register as new vehicle. It seems register fine, but when I go to dashboard - stuck on radar graphic and ‘Connecting to your Cupra’ message. If I view Account tab, shows as no registered cars.  Pl

Just moved into new home. Trying to take meter reading for electricity but it appears it could be prepayment which I wasn’t told. What does Smets mean and can I change from ovo to another supplier with this meter please 

Who has a SSE or OVO installed smart meter that doesn’t work and more significantly has NEVER worked? Succumbing to promotional pressure and keen to save/monitor my electricity usage, I had one installed 3.5 years ago — and it never worked from the off, save after a few months to provide exactly the same as the old one. After complaints and taking the matter to the ombudsman service (upheld on all counts and resolved with goodwill and indefinite pledges to sort out the issue). That was 20 months ago and there’s been zilch in action or communication since. Now that OVO is running the show, we will see what happens. I have no information on whether my situation is unique or common and why this is so, except that it is largely a government communications agency’s fault (DCC). Hence my question. On 17 February, I elected to switch from a one-year fixed plan to a new Extended Fixed plan, which started on 18 February. A few days later, I noticed that the rates for this type of plan were falling fast, so on 3 March, I asked to switch to a new Extended Fixed plan. I asked for - and received - confirmation that because I was still in the cooling-off period for the current contract, no exit fee would be payable. The agent handling the switch told me that the exit fee would be automatically applied to my account, but  it would be ‘wiped’ immediately.The following morning, I saw that the new plan had entered into force, but the billing page showed the exit fee of £75 as a charge. This had the effect of plunging my account into debt - precisely the situation I was trying to avoid. Is the web service currently down or experiencing problems, unable to access my account details / enter meter readings etc.

I had my THTC meter removed and replaced with a smart meter 7 weeks ago.  I read that it can take up to six weeks for the meter to finish setting up so why is it still not set up?  The new smart meter is successfully sending a daily reading of 2 tariffs (Economy 10) which I can see on my account.  However I have yet to be billed for last month and this is now 10 days overdue.  The old RTS meter also still shows on my account even though it has been removed.  This appears to be messing up my account.  For example, when I click on Offers, I get the message “A Problem Has Occurred”.  I want to get Charge Anytime set up for my EV which was one of the reasons why I was so keen to get the Smart meter installed.  I have been so frustrated by the fact that nobody from Ovo can tell me the timeframe for the old meter to disappear from my account and when I might be able to add Charge Anytime.  I have even tried to switch supplier in my desperation to resolve this but this is blocked because of t

Hi. I live in Scotland and had old fashioned storage heaters. I had the flat rewired so the old storage heaters came out and I bought Dimplex Quantum heaters to go in. Meanwhile, OVO installed me a smart meter in January and the engineer who installed it said I’d need to contact OVO to get the new meter upgraded to a 5 port version to accommodate the new storage heaters. Sounded straightforward, but on contacting OVO they now tell me I can’t have a dual rate meter and will have to run the system on the single rate. End of. They are very sorry etc. It’ll be unaffordable! Reading posts on this Forum, I can see there are the SMETS2 meters available - so what’s the problem I’m having? Any advice or suggestions very welcome. Thanks

So I've just had a new solar system installed.It's a 9Kw array + a 13.5Kw Tesla Powerwall 3 battery which has an 11Kw internal inverter.The battery is set to allow 80% for the house and 20% for emergency backup.At sunset the battery is 100% full, by sunrise it's still 60% full. We have ample supply to cover all house load overnight and no large consumers on. The battery does not charge from the grid.Nevertheless I have noticed that throughout the night our grid usage shows that we are importing a significant amount of electricity from the grid in chunks of about an hour at a time. This does not look like a switching issue to me. see the picture. The blue parts of the graph is grip imports. It adds up to about 20p a day, equal to £73 a year. I cannot see any explanation for this! 

I recently switched to a smart meter, I've got an Aclara meter, and i’ve tried to top it up through the app (this said the payment went through) but I waited for over an hour and nothing changed. So i tried to put in both payment codes in manually and both came up with a CRC error. I have £4 left of emergency credit so please help :(

I’ve recently had a electricity smart meter installed and within the first day it was switched from Pay Monthly to Prepay Mode with no authorisation from me.  I mentioned to the installer that OVO had recently sent me a “top up” card, and I had contacted them, and they agreed this was a mistake. The installer showed me that the meter was in “Credit Mode” but did warn me he had had other customers that had been put into “Prepay mode” without their consent. As mentioned, after a day, I have ended up in PrePay Mode, running out of emergency credit. After nearly 6 hours of web chat they have tried switching me to Credit mode twice, giving me codes to type in to the meter to add credit (but all come back with CRC Error). It’s been ridiculous.What are my legal rights in this? I have no faith they will be able to restore it to credit mode, I have no faith it will STAY in that mode either! I want to go back to a traditional meter with the stress this has caused. If my meter finally “runs out”
