My elderly parents have a 2-phase system with 2 economy 7 meters fitted. Phase 1 bills both day & night units and phase 2 bills night units only. I cannot get OVO to understand that the day units on phase 2 will always read 1 because this is a night only meter. When I provide meter readings they are rejected because the system is expecting a value greater than 1 on the day reading. OVO sent a meter reader earlier in the year and he did not understand that the reading was only 1. I have tried without success to get OVO to understand and act upon this difficulty and so I am hoping that members of this forum may be able to give me some advice.

OVO sent an engineer to install a smart meter to solve the impending RTS shut off. Because the RTS is in the house beside the fuse boxes and the two meters are outside he couldn’t install the smart meter. That was on the 22nd of January.He took a load of photographs. There was a plan for me to pay for some wiring in the fuse box at my cost to allow the smart meter to be installed. I’ve heard nothing since, I’ve tried emailing OVO without any reply. Obviously the RTS clock is ticking and I’m no where near getting a viable solution.

Hi, can anyone help my understanding of this system please. I have a solar PV and battery system that is working great, with plenty of excess energy.  We fitted an Eddi unit to divert any excess to the water tank with the hope of reducing the gas bill, associated with heating the tank. Everything is working and the excess energy is send to the tank and heats until “max temperature achieved”.  However, I have left my gas water heating schedule on and noticed that even though the tank is already at temperature the boiler would fire up for the duration of time the schedule is set to run - should that happen? and is that using gas to heat an already hot tank??Given the now amazing weather I thought I would turn the gas schedule off and set the Eddi unit to boast the tank using the stored (battery) energy in the morning and again in the evening, while continuing to use the excess to top up.Despite the energy going to the tank in the morning for an hour (05:00-06:00), I have woken up to warm

Hi,   I have a smart meter why do I get estimated readings on my Bill? I thought a smart meter would know my correct readings.   Jonboy.

I’ve had my Nissan Leaf and Indra SmartPro charger for over four years and always used the Kaluza app which worked fine.I’ve now had to start using the Indra app and Charge Anytime apps together. I only downloaded them last Thursday and then went away for the weekend so the first time I used the two apps was Sunday night.It didn’t charge so I had to Boost charge between passengers during the day. (I’m a voluteer driver.)Monday night it worked fine.Last night (Tuesday) I plugged it in and the Indra app said it was plugged in but the Charge Anytime app said it wasn’t - so I had to Boost charge on the Indra app. I need a full charge every day.I’m 75 and on a tiny pension. I can’t afford Boost charging! 

Has anyone used Aurora SEREN 600000 EV Electric Vehicle Car Charging Point 7.4kW 230V with OVO Charge Anytime? 

HI, firstly please forgive my ignorance - I am not an expert in this field.I have PV system on my garage roof comprising 16 solar panels, a Solis inverter and a Pylontech battery.My problem is that my electricity meter records ALL electricity energy used in my house as being supplied by my electricity supplier from the electricity grid but which INCLUDES the electricity self-generated by my panels which has been considerable.My electricity supplier is over charging for the electricity being pulled from the grid as it records self-generated electricity as if it is being supplied by the grid.They have recently installed a new SMETS2 meter but the problem of them also charging me for my self-generated electricity persists (i.e. it is showing all electricity being used in my house as being supplied from the grid) and is costing a fortune! Can anyone help with what may be causing this and how it can be rectified please?

Hi,I’ve just finished a charging session and the car reports a 28 kWh charge, but the Hypervolt reports 30.3 kWh being delivered to the car. Why the discrepancy?thanks, colin

After using my 11kw TRIAQUA air source heat pump of and on for 10 years I found it a useless match to our daily living routines. We live in the Alps at 780 metres and had temperatures from as low as minus 24 Celsius to as high as +10 on cold Winter nights generally December and January are the coldest months. In order to get any warmth and comfort in our home in Winter we had to leave the pump running 24 hours 7 days a week which goes against all our inclinations to save energy. In our first year of operation we had a bill of 2600 Euros to heat our house at temperatures of somewhat less than 20 degrees. Our preference is to sleep in a cold room and to have our sitting room at around 24 degrees when it is minus 10 or below outside. In the morning for breakfast after we rise we are looking for 20-24 degrees instantly in the main sitting room and adjoining kitchen. We found none of the above was achievable at a sustainable cost using our heat pump which is supposed to have a COP of 2.8 fr

Hi got an email about replacing old meter phoned the number on email 03330341622 got a voicemail saying lines are very busy then got two rings then someone answered asked for account number and name then they just said OK I told him I needed to replace meter and he said he will check,phone just went silent for a few minutes then I hung up didn't seem right does this sound legit to anyone

Hi everyone, I’ve just discovered that I’ve been paying OVO energy bills under the wrong address/account for the past year. My actual flat is Apartment 13, but the account I’ve been paying for is Apartment 14. I always found my bills unusually high—even when I was away from the flat for a whole month with everything switched off. Today I noticed there are two account numbers linked to Apartment 14 in my OVO app, and none for Apartment 13, which confirmed my suspicions. Has anyone experienced something similar? What should I expect from OVO in terms of resolving this and possibly getting a refund? Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance!

This is our present THTC RTS setup. The meters are in an access corridor, the consumer units within the flat. I booked a smart meter appointment and OVO’s sub turned up in December and said a smart meter instal was impossible, grumbled about lack of communication about the instal he was going to and was meant to make a report to OVO. It appears that was sketchy as when I asked OVO about it, it didnt seem to give much detail. The installer did say 10-20% of installations were similar.  As nothing seemed to be happening I raised a complaint. I was then told OVO wanted me to at my expense instal blocks at the high rate consumer unit for them to connect to. When I asked for more detail they came back and said they couldn’t instal a smart meter but were working on a two meter solution which might have to be legacy meters. This of course leaves the issue that if they put in a simple time switch low rate meter the present 24/7 low rate feed to the panel heaters and upper immersion is restrict

Simple question :I changed my email address on my OVO account - this was simple and effective so I now receivee all account communications to the new address. However messages from the OVO forum still get sent to the old address and within the forum I can’t find any method for effecting this change.   I’ve looked in the ‘My Profile’ and ‘ Settings’ pages but can't see any record of the email address (old or new) I presume that the original account  set-up propagated the email address from the Ovo account to the Ovo Forum account but that there is no process set up to do this again when an account email address is changed . How would this be achieved ?

 The meters and the fuse in my house are currently screwed directly onto the  wooden panels that line the  inside a cuboard built into the wall .  Its an old 1900’s stone built property. this has been the fitting  arangement since installation of the electricity supply and originl black meter  in 1950.  Since then SSE,  as the retai supplyier at that time, has installed an  off peak  meter  in the 70’s for  storage heaters,  and a check meter in 2019, both screwed by them  directly onto the  wall panels, same as the fuse and original meter,  ie without a  back board, and seemingly not an issue as far as they were concerned.I am now trying to arrange for OVO to fit a SMART meter. They can come next week However they say a  back board  is essential , but theyalso  say they will not fit  one  and to peak to the DNO IE SSE.I have done so , and they say they will send someone to fit a piece of  backboard behind their  incoming fuse, but that it.So now seem to be in a catch 22, because as fa

Honestly, are they people who set the Power up/down times serious?  Today we were asked to power down from 12 noon to 2pm!  I am certain that the majority of people are cooking their Sunday lunch over this time period, so how can we use less? i am certainly not going to move my lunch!  Quite frankly I have given up trying, as all I seem to get is 4p, maximum 10p.  It is not worth the hassle.

I could not locate my gas meter as I have just moved in and wasn't sure where it was, but I had to provide opening meter readings, so I estimated the gas reading based on the reading on the final bill from the last tenants. I have now located my gas meter however, and my estimate was too high. Can I correct the opening gas reading I gave to you?

Hello I have economy 7 night storage heating…..it is controlled by the teleswitch which activates the Contactor to turn on the storage heater circuit overnight.The teleswitch is to be discontinued in June and a smart meter installed at some stage to control the economy 7 heating. Will the contactor still be required to switch the heating circuit on and off or will it be redundant and the new smart meter system do that job instead? The night storage heating only is on the separate circuit controlled by the contactor thanks for any advice

Having installed our solar panels, we applied to receive the OVO Smart energy guarantee payments and sent the requested initial export meter reading on the 12th July, which will be seven weeks ago tomorrow. We were told that we would receive the welcome email within four weeks from receiving this initial meter reading.Is it normal to have to wait this long? I cannot speak to the SEG team by phone and any email sent just gets a standard reply that a response will be within 15 days.Getting frustrated now Malcolm

My landlord is having solar panels installed on the property tomorrow, will I need to do anything with my smart meter? Like inform electric company etc  thanks 

Hello, iv had OVO charge anytime with mini electric for a couple of years and it worked seamlessly.I’ve just swapped to a Renault scenic e-tech and I’m not able to connect the charge anytime app to my Renault account. note - my Renault account / app works fine, I can see the range / lights / location / preconditioning etc. when I try to sync I see the following message, see screenshot.   

Recently linked ovo account and home charger to charge anytime, then gave permission to control charging of my audi e tronIt didn’t work - didn’t recognise the car as being connected and then the day after, the app wouldn’t communicate with the audi at all. Complete failure so decided to delete charge anytime account and put up with paying standard charge - better than not being able to charge at all.However, despite deleting account, my audi will no longer connect to my home charger so I am completely stuck.The charger is fine - I can charge other cars.The audi is fine, I can charge it in other places.However, I cannot charge it at home on my charger which is a disaster. I wish I had never tried to implement this scheme at all as I am now forced onto public chargers at huge expense and inconvenience.Anybody else had these issues?

I’ve read all the post on here that relate to this topic but have yet to see a definitive answer as to when there will be a solution for those of us transferred from SSE. The OVE web page https://www.ovoenergy.com/can-i-get-a-smart-meter still says they are not available. Given that the switch of is next year it doesn’t leave a lot of time t0 implement a solution.

Have there been any Power Move Flex notifications sent out since 31st March ? I have not received any - has the incentive stopped ?
