My OVO energy

I topped up my gas and electricity through the OVO app yesterday, I had text and email confirmation, the top-ups were displayed in the app and the credit was applied to my meters.What's strange is i checked my bank account this morning and there are two pending payments to Northern Belle 0330 303 5063 GB. The payments are for the exact amount of my Ovo top ups and I believe 0330 303 5063 is an Ovo phone number. Why do the payments have Ovo's phone number and a completely different company name? Should I be concerned about this?I was going to raise these payments as fraudulent with my bank, but if they decide I'm making a false claim, they could close my account. I topped up again this morning and the pending payments are to Ovo Energy Ltd. Can anyone shed some light on this, please?

I have a traditional PAYG electric meter. When the display disappeared I contacted OVO and eventually an engineer put in a new traditional meter.  He inserted the existing key, showed balance, all looked ok. I topped up  later in week, meter did not record top up.  After several hours spent on successive days on Chat, 2 days of phones, one new key and at least half a dozen “codes”, the problem remains.  I topped up again today, my Paypoint receipt clearly shows my correct account number and correct serial number of new meter.  My new key works and meter shows balance etc but will not show how much the top up is, or key in the new balance.  I am desperate, I simply cannot face talking to OVO anymore on Chat or phone and I certainly do not want any more useless codes.  I just need my supply to work.  Please help.  Patricia B

Until last Monday (21st Oct) my meter reading history was available to three decimal places, but now only integer values are being shown. Is this a glitch or a permanant (yet irritatingly inconvenient) system ‘improvement’?

I have always been aware of the Balance showing on the Homepage of the OVO Website and the Credit showing on my monthly billing. At he beginning of Setember the credit showing after my new bill was £67.53 but the balance showing on the homepage was £104.65. Since I have been aware of this for some time I took a screenshot of my homepage for proof. At the beginning of October my credit was £65.41 with my balance showing the same. They have now been realigned with a subsequent loss to me of £35.00. I confirmed with an OVO advisor yesterday that others had also noticed this so I am posting this to make others aware of this irregularity. I have a complaint outstanding with OVO but not answered. Has this happened to other OVO customers.?

Hi!I'm renting a room in a flat. We previously had Ovo Gas. About 2 months ago, letters began to arrive in a different name and an agreement for Scottish Gas. The Ovo customer who is living in the same place as me (the landlord's son) didn't care. Later, a final letter came from Ovo. So, probably our Ovo gas card is not working now. I've told him countless times to contact Ovo. He told me he contacted Ovo and a new card will come soon. He said this about 3 weeks ago. Of course, the new agreement and card haven't arrived. I think he's lying about having resolved it. Soon, we will run out of gas. How can I sort this out?

Hi all,Sorry if this has already being discussed. For months I've tried to access me OVO account but receive the same message "were bringing you a new website" but this is since May. I've tried the app and still the same message. Is there an issue with the website?Thank you.

i have duel fuel top up meters with ovo and recently the gas meter is not accepting the top up sent from the app the electric meter works fine and i top up via the app it appears on the monitor within a minute but when i top up with the gas through the app i have to manually key in the code that the app sends rather than it happens automatically.. it use to work fine before ..always about 20 mins after i used  the app but last 2 payments have been like this now ...any ideas why?

Is there any reason why the app doesn’t show the latest gas reading ?  Whilst the electricity one shows the most recent, the gas for some obscure reason only shows 2014 and has done now for months !  I’ve tried re-downloading the app and also using it on both my iphone and tablet without success.TIA

I have just read this passage about FACs in another thread: “… my own experience shows that [the future annual consumption figure] is being based on, (or at least being adjusted based on) actual meter readings. Hi,We tried to top up our pay as you go “heritage” meter and were met with a flashing display of “call help”. To cut a long story and multiple (poor signal peppered) conversations short, the engineers have failed to show up twice, and we’re still without a gas supply.Has anyone else had a similar problem, and more so, is there any way to circumvent the singular process put in place to deal with our issue? Regards, Customer666

 Thank you for taking the time to read our issue i do understand its very long with a lot of information but hoping someone can help resolve.**Please note that my Mum is the account holder who is 74 and is becoming very ill and very stressed and worried about this and we have provided both written and verbal communication to OVO advising i can speak on her behalf , this has been ignored on every occasion we contact OVO***We did start a thread on this back in December last year but thought it best to start a new one as i have more knowledge / information regarding the issue as its still not been resolved.Back in Aug /Sept 2022 we had a  power cut in our area for around half a day , once the power came back on i went outside to check our traditional style meter to provide the readings for OVO and the LCD  display was blank and although our power was still working with no issues we were unable to provide a meter reading (our last submitted manual reading was in Jun

Hi all,like many people, I have an aging parent who struggles to cope with modern technology such as online accounts.I would like to manage my Mum’s energy account for her but her current supplier will not let me do this without a “Lasting Power of Attorney” and my Mum finds that troubling because it makes her think that “the law” is taking over her life.If we were to change supplier to OVO, could the account have both my Mum and me as joint account holders without the “scary” legal stuff ?thanks for any thoughts on the matterPhilipJ

Our electric went off about 10.30 today and I put £15 emergency onI topped up £99  just gone 1.30 some 4 hours later and it shows £88.06 credit, where has the £11 gone when its said id only used 25p in that time?PAYG meter and ive never had a debt on it. I've only got one so I avoid quarterly bills.It showed id used 25p off the emergency credit of £15 before I put the £99 on.Im confused by this can anyone explain why this has happened please. Tia.

Hi Im trying to phone OVO to discuss my account.I confirm all the security stuff then it gives me 3 options -1. Give a meter reading 2. Make a card payment 3. Hold for anything else I hold then it says "sorry you can't get through, we're closed right now." Even though they're open!Been trying to speak to them since yesterday. I have previously spoken to some of you regarding an Air Source Heat Pump System.  I had such a lot of help and you were all wonderful putting my mind at rest. Well now my disabled partner has just come out of an unexpected hospital stay.and is recovering from a severe infection.  We still haven't had our heating system  replaced so we are relying in electric fires as its getting chilly.  Is there anything  Ovo offers as obviously I dont work my electricity bill is going to rise sky high but I need to keep my partner warm and we live in a rural area  Any ideas??  

I only have one active account for my new address, but two closed accounts from previous addresses still show up when I log on. How do I delete these please? Thanks!

Moved into HMO in January 2025. We pay our bills through our rent.Following the advice online, I sent all mail to previous tenants back with a sticker reading "return to sender, addressee no longer here," or similar.Saturday 27th September we get a visitor at the door who leaves us a letter saying the previous tenant owes almost £2k. Housemate 1 explained the previous tenant hasn't lived here since before January.Monday 29th Housemate 2 calls to confirm what Housemate 1 said.Saturday 4th October, another letter, which I open even though it's addressed to previous tenant. Letter says this is a final notice, and someone could show up and install a PAYG meter with the £2k already applied, so we would have to cough up that amount before even being able to use electricity.I send OVO an email saying absolutely not, this is not our debt. Get an automatic email back saying, "your email address isn't linked to any account so we can't reply to your email." I

Hi I am constantly building up a large credit balance due to what seems to be a fault in the way the direct debit charge is calculated automatically.Here is where the problem seems to be:I am charged £172 a monthIf you average the bill over the last 12 months it works out at £174 a month Excluding Charge anytime creditThe average Charge Anytime credit over the last 12 months is £28 a month meaning the average monthly bill is actually only £146 a month meaning a £28 a month direct debit overpayment which builds up a large credit quickly especially in the summer months. I have tried taking refunds and adjusting the monthly direct debit amount but all that happens is the system adjusts the direct debit amount back up as it performs the wrong calculation again and think i’m under paying. I cant be the only person with charge anytime seeing this issue, does anyone else see this or found a way to fix it. Thanks 

I completed the moving in registration over a week ago and never received any confirmation emails from OVO. The property is already supplied by OVO so does not require a transfer period. I completed this form again today in the hope to get some light of account set up and meter readings put in.  I have also tried to login and it lets me set my password but once logged in, it says a problem has occured or they cannot find my details.   I need access to an account to put in meter readings and pay, however I do not understand why this is an impossible task and I have double checked my emails and junk folder and received no communication.

I got this text the other day. When I log in, there’s nothing indicating this on my account, but the text automatically flagged as being from “OVO”. Any help much appreciated! 

Why has my standing charge gone up from:24.61p per day in 2022 to43.39p per day in 2023 to60.31p percday from 1st April 2024?This is way higher than inflation.
