If you need work done on your fuse box, first contact your energy supplier to arrange for an isolator switch to be installed. This switch will let an electrician safely work on your fuse box without affecting the metering equipment.

 

If installing an isolator is not possible because of space issues, your supplier can temporarily turn off your power in the morning and restore it in the afternoon.

 

If your supplier cannot provide this service, another Safe Isolation Provider (SIP) or Distribution Network Operator (DNO) can help you.

Are you aware of any changes to procedure since it was posted, that we could add to improve this?

We need to change the start of 2nd para. It incorrectly states that the meter is the responsibility of the DNO. In fact we also need a link there to the Topic about “Who Owns What?”
