Hi all,  recently moved into a new house and we have just been moves from sse to ovo. We have just had new smart meters and in home display etc fitted by ovo. We told them we wanted to change from quarterly billing, used by previous tenant, to pre payment. The meters will do this. But nothing has been done by ovo, and after 2 hours on the phone being passed from one person to thr next and cut off 3 times, they keep trying to send me to Boost. Boost keep sending me back as I'm.not their customer and they have no details so can't do anything. Ovo clearly do pre payment as they have an app for it, our new meters will do it as the engineer told us, yet no one on the phone seems to be able to help. Thr last person I spoke to seemed to accept ovo can do this but suggested I ring back in a week as the meters weren't registered yet. Really can't go through all the hassle again, anyone have any ideas about who to contact, what to tell them, and exactly how to simply get onto pre payment? Any ad

I have purchased tickets for the upcoming One Ok Rock show in October on Ticketmaster. I’m supposed to receive my tickets in the OVOArena app so I did create an account with the same email address as my Ticketmaster account since that’s what’s used to identify the account the tickets are sent to. However, I can’t login. I have tried resetting my password more than 20 times. It always tells me the that my username or password is wrong which is not true. If I create a new account with a new email address but the same password I can login but somehow the account I am supposed to receive the tickets on does not work. I have contacted the customer support and they said this behavior is normal and that I am supposed to be able to access my tickets a few days prior but that makes no sense to me. Why would I not be able to even login just because I purchased tickets on Ticketmaster? I did some digging online and nobody else seems to have this problem.

Hello, my meter has been broken for a while now. I am extremely rural and have been unable to manage getting an engineer out to help. ANYWAY i just wondered is this meter controlled by the rts signal.  

Having trouble connecting my tado wireless to my Internet. Think it's a compatibility issue with virgin broadband. Anyone know of a way to get thr Internet bridge to connect? Thanks everyone 

Hello!I am in the process of getting my THTC meters upgraded to a smart meter but have hit a brick wall of sorts. I’m waiting on advice from a private electrician, but figured there are some helpful people here who could confirm/deny my suspicions.So after years of waiting, an engineer turned up to upgrade my meter, and I was quickly told it would not be possible, but was not really given any advice as to what to do. Later, Ovo has told me that there needs to be more room for the meter installation, so my plan as of now is to move the nearby consumer unit by about 5cm away from the meter, something a customer service advisor seemed to think might be enough. This might be costly but we’ll see. The problem as I see it is that to do so, I assume the electrician will need to move the meters, and Ovo, to install a new meter, would need to move the consumer unit. i.e. neither side can touch the other’s equipment unless they’re both there at the same time? They are both on a probably plywood

Hi folks,I had an OVO engineer round today to install an isolator switch after my meter so that I can get work done on the consumer units safely, no issues with that - all went fine.Upon putting the power back on he said that my meter (a Secure Liberty 100 SMETS1 model) wasn’t ‘talking to OVO’ and suggested that he swap it out for a new one while he was here. At no cost to me so I said fine.Sadly however the new meter (a Aclara SGM SMETS2 model) could not pick up the WAN at all and he was unable to commission it. He said that it might pick it up in the future and someone could come and commission it then, but more likely it will just act as a ‘dumb’ meter until such time as Arqiva improve the radio coverage in my area.As I understand it the old meter would have used GSM networks to communicate rather than the Arqiva radio system which is why it was able to function fine in smart mode and the new one cannot.Can anybody advise on what the likely outcome is here? I'm looking to get my meters upgraded to smart meters. I just wanted to double check if there will be a problem. Currently my gas meter is installed at 6ft internally in the garage.  The garage is in integral garage within the house.  Do I need to contact the gas network to have this lowered before requesting a smart meter installation?   

Earlier this year my online OVO appeared to be in credit and I claimed a refund. Now OVO say it was a mistake and that I have to pay the refund back. Do Ofgem’s back billing rules apply in this situation?

Hey, I have a bog standard single phase meter, which I would like to have switched to a smart meter but I’m being told that “Sorry, we can't install a smart meter yet” on the eligibility website. My neighbours and just about everyone I know seems to have a smart meter so it isn’t a signal issue.There IS an unused Teleswitch + meter for an old heating system that is unused.Ideally I would like that Teleswitch meter removed, then the single phase meter changed to a smart meter but I’m assuming the Teleswitch is what is blocking the upgrade? I have asked support but they also just repeat back that they can’t install one at the moment without giving a reason.Any ideas on how to get this fixed?

I had a Easee charger fitted as recommended by my electrician last year. I am due to take delivery of my Kia EV shortly. I am also a OVO energy customer. Bizarrely I seem unable to take advantage of the anytime + tariff as i have neither a compatible charger or car. How can this be the case? Has it now come to the point where you choose the car and charger based on an available electricity tariff?! Com on OVO get Kia on board ASAP.

my powers been out since yesterday morning, this is the second time this month. I recently installed a smart meter and I think that’s what been causing all this trouble. I set it up for direct debit, but it keeps switching to prepayment mode. I’ve absolutely had it with ovo, there’s no helpline or anything. My whole family is left to start the week with no electricity, no showers or anything. Kindly rectify this or let me know what I can do!TIA

But generally, the 7 off-peak hours fall somewhere between 10pm and 8.30am. (Remember, this can change with British Summer Time). I am not looking for a 'general' idea of what time OVO E7 hours are. I am looking, and have been looking for exactly what those hours are. This information seems to have been deliberately hidden from both the public, and your customers. Is this hidden so well for any particular reason? Is it something they vary regionally, or from day to day? 

Hi, my Hypervolt pro 3 charger was installed today and linked to Charge Anytime but unfortunately the Charge Anytime app only charges on ‘urgent charging’ mode despite having a schedule on the ‘Schedule’ tab. Can someone assist and let me know if they’ve had a similar issue? My car is a BMW fyi. Thanks!

I’m signed up to the Power Move Up/Down events.  Ultimately the purpose of this is to save carbon, with hopefully some financial incentives too(!)Just been wondering… like the blockchain debate, has OVO / anyone else worked out the carbon footprint of all of the emails being generated, distributed and stored on servers. Is that taken into account with the overall figures…? Does it negate the good action being done at all? Just curious… 

Switched to OVO PAYG from Boost PAYG, Topped up fine in new app however the top up "card"  in the app is not working instore.Tried mutliple times this evening.I am off supply now and owe £17.xx so I can’t get “friendly credit” There is an outage from 1 am to 5 am tonight. What am I supposed to do???? Even if I could get money into the bank it would cost me a fortune in travel at this time of night backwards and forwards to the paying--in cash machine. Total joke has been off supply for four years due to a faulty battery meter, which the engineer told me had been capped off since I moved in. For four years, I went without (gas)central heating. & hot water.  Just get it back for the first winter and then this.  The engineer arrived earlier than arranged so I am owed compensation(The afternoon appointment requested and confirmed) arrived at 10:20 am. THE fixed rate 1yr including boiler service essentials plan offers a boiler service. The plan has an £60 excess per claim for an engineer sent out. Is this thr case for the free service - so I would pay £60 for this or is it really free. Thank you 

Why is “night rate” electricity much cheaper to have if used with an electric vehicle tariff than a straightforward (Economy 7) storage heating tariff and why is the cheaper tariff only available if you own an EV?

How do I refer a friend

I’m a pay as you go key meter customer and have always had £20 emergency credit available. Now it has suddenly changed to £15 and when I looked into it on the support package page it says that emergency credit remains at £15. I think it has actually decreased from £20 to £15 which seems like a small amount but considering the cost of living crisis it makes a difference to me! Has anyone else noticed this?

We recently had an electrician in who said we have a very old and the original electricity supply box, even though we have a smart meter. He described it as “a biscuit tin” and it needs changing because it will be increasing the amount of energy we use. I have attached a picture of what it looks like. Who would I contact to change this and can they do it as I don’t want to be charged more than necessary, especially as all other costs are increasing.

The Leaf isn’t on the list of vehicles that OVO says is compatible with their systems. Does anyone know why?  I’m asking as I have a smart meter, a smart charger (not one of the ones OVO recommends) and solar panels and was hoping to benefit from the V2G when is is fully up and running.. 

I have previously moved into a new property supplied by OVO and as now the legal occupier I opened a letter to them sending debt collectors round because the previous tenants hadn’t paid their bill!I was mortified that they are doing this! I tried calling and couldn’t get through to them at first. When I did the gentleman was very reassuring and told me he would rectify the bill and did the sale pitch to which I decided to stay with them.Received the new statement and they are still trying to charge me!! I’ve had it with this company already! Painful is an understatement! Plus my new email as a new client states they are open Saturday they are not!Not at all happy and want to go back to Bulb Energy even though they are slightly more expensive. Customer service was second to none.

hi guyshope everyone is oki have a Dimplex storage heater qm050rf whch i have been using for the past 2 years. i switch it off when it is summer and switch it back on when in winter. it has been working for the past 2 years but now it seems to only blow out cold air.i have never changed any settings and the date and time is right. i am aware that it could take 2 to 3 days to heat up but it has been over a week now.the boost works. things i have tried:factory restoresetted the timer to what time i want.tried looking for the thermostat reset button but cannot see it.i am really stuck on this matter.hopefully someone can helpmany thanksp.s this is a dual installation heater.
