Hi, just switched to OVO from Scottish Power and I would like to change email address as my partner set up the account using her email but as I will be paying the bills I would like all correspondence sent straight to me rather than having to keep emailing my partner every time there is something to get done. Is this possible Thanks, Alex Aiken

Should I take any notice of what OVO tells me my balance MAY be in 9 months time. At the moment my balance is £1,200, my May charges were £185, my DD was £240. They have today informed me I will be in debit in MARCH 2026 and should increase my DD to min. £264 NOW.  I have had this issue with them before but was brushed off with “We know better than you” despite the fact that for at least the last 4 years I have always topped up my account to keep minimum balance of £800.  OVO say they need to ensure I won’t have debt problems. At 81 years old I’m proud to say I have never had a debt and don’t intend to start now. I wish they would shove their Crystal Ball somewhere else.

I’m one of the lucky ones who has a VW and i registered with OVO and got the free miles deal, so my understanding is that I get to keep the 7p/Kwh rate, at least for the time being. However, I’ve noticed that my charges are now being billed at 13p+, instead of 7p - does anyone know why this might be?  Is it an issue with the app and my bills will be correct, or is thi an account issue that I need OVO to sort out?Here’s my old charging figures from last month - all around 7p/Kwh  And here’s the latest charge at 13.3p/Kwh  

I have built up a few hundred pound in credit - can I use this to lower my direct debit rather than applying for the payment to be sent to me?

I received a frightening letter from Ovo stating I had an overdue balance that was transferred to LCS debt collection agency despite me paying my final bill 3 years ago. They said I had been identified through a trace with Experian and it’s for almost 300.I have been paying my final bill via monthly direct debits but this bill is completely separate to me- not linked to my email or number and for after I vacated the property. I have spent 5 hours back and forth over the last few days and have had extremely frustrating calls with the South Africa customer service who keep telling me to call the debt agency. What concerns me is I am on the verge of getting my first mortgage and my anxiety and the stress of this is sending me over the edge. I today noticed a big difference between an email that said I had a £1,169.70 credit and my App account now saying I owed £513.27. i don’t get the estimate issue as have a smart meter, that is what they are for, no?But here’s the kicker, I now have an email today (11/6) saying why. The email says they are not allowed to go back more than a year and they calculate they charged me £2,746.40 instead of £4,059.32 (£1312.92 undercharged). it seems because I was overpaying (and took a credit of £1,000 on 26th June 2024) my balance was £3,982.55 in said period so they would credit me the £76.77 shortfall only.Surely penalising someone for having too much credit is against the spirit of Ofgem’s rules.I have budgeted a certain amount of money and suddenly i am being charged an extra £1,236.15 (45%) for a period that expired over a year ago. If I had merely paid the minimum amounts or taken that £1,000 16 day earlier then I would be £1,000 better off. Hi, I have a Skoda Enyaq company car which I took possession of in March 2025. I have been able to find anywhere to enter the order number to receive the free mileage.Now with this new flat rate I'm even more confused? If you're car is from the Volkswagen group can you still on the old Charge anytime tariff? 

I have just recently installed solar panels ( ovo ) and installed two Zappi chargers. We had one EV which works with one of the chargers but not the other.I propose getting another EV but it will be pointless unless I can install both chargers on the APP ( there does not seem to be any facility to do so )  Help ?

Hi, My credits dissappered overnigt  Electricty:As of 14/11/25 00:00:00Balance:£19.97 Gas:As of 17/11/25 00:00:00Balance: £31.81 The gas is -14.9 and the electricy is 0 now. I can not use 50£ gas overnight, can I?  I tried to topup but the money returned immediately. 

So whilst i was away the My OVO app showed i was burning 30p a day of gas. Now i use NEST so i turned the thermostat to off before going I have no other gas appliance so unsure what to-do, i have OVO smart meters so could they be sending false data?

I finally got my smart meter on 11th July this year - PAYG for THTC - and all seems well.Until I got an email from OVO saying they have to upgrade this meter before 31st Dec for it to keep working. Unfortunately, your current smart meter model is now being removed from the wider smart network on 31 December 2025. For your meter to keep its smart features, we need to upgrade it before then. Is this normal? Why would they install a meter with less than 6 months working life left? Do they mean a software upgrade or is it a whole new meter? It is an engineer visit, that I do know, but trying to book anything online when you have a PAYG meter is an exercise in frustration

I’ve heard that energy suppliers can remotely control smart meters in order to even cut off the energy supply to a certain property. It made me wonder if they can remotely override the meter reading by adding extra units on top of the actual usage regularly. If they have remote control access to it, when/if a customer complains regarding an abnormal increase, they can even remotely adjust it so that the meter would not be seen as faulty during any inspection. Is there a guarantee or a way to validate that this would never happen to smart meter users? 

Has anyone else had issues where their new smart meters have been installed but not communicating at all, nothing being shown on display? In contact with OVO (4days ago) they confirmed it was a meter issue and would be in contact, still waiting for the call, and means another day staying in for the engineer, get a grip OVO.

I moved house over 18months ago and moved to a new supplier. All bills were paid. I am now getting harassed by debt collectors as ovo have linked the period since leaving the house to my phone number due to a trace and search but not my name, so they won’t give me any information regarding the account. I have spoke to ovo who won’t stop the collectors ringing me as they need to find who is liable. What should I do?

I’ve been with OVO for just under a year and the online booking tool still reports that I’m not eligible to receive a smart meter. I understand we’ve had a pandemic but I can’t fathom out why there continues to be a problem. I live in a new build development in Greater London and there are existing smart meters in the building’s meter cabinet  Any advice gratefully received.

I have 4 Dimplex Quantum storage heaters in my rented local authority 2 bed end terraced house. Gas was removed in favour of these supposedly greener and more efficient heaters. Truth is they are way too expensive to run. My home is small and thankfully well insulated. However, if I were to run all four, I’d be roughly £600 per month…Yes, Per Month. So, I only have the one in the kitchen on as it’s a tiny kitchen and the heat from that keeps my living room ticking over. I bought two electric panel heaters, one for my living room and one at the bottom of the stairs. The latter heats all the way upstairs. They are far easier to control, whereas the storage heaters are useless. No heater in the bathroom, so I have a low energy electric towel rail which is pennies to run. But, depending on how long I have the panel heaters on, I can easily run to £14 per day. I’ve tried it when we have really cold days. I was told that the storage heaters need to run on economy 10, which they are. But, the

I have the new app installed on my phone but unfortunately It won't let me link my OVO account to start using the new app for charging at home.

I am reaching the end of my current 1 year fixed tariff and am considering my options. My system seems to be more complex that the various chat bots and AI can cope with. I have emailed OVO but from past experience do not hold out a great deal of hope in getting a satiscatory response.Currently I am using charge any time for charging our two electric vehiclesI also have a Heat pump and am enrolled in Heat Pump plus.Together they amount to about 75% of our kWh usage and so the “rebates” they attract are of significance.I am looking around at other suppliers ( yes I am sore about OVO cheerfully doubling the cost of car charging but that’s up to them, it is up to me to make choices).My real question is, if I switch to OVO simpler i.e. that the cost perkWh can vary with the market, will i still get the “rebates” from Heat Pump plus and charge anytime.? To put this in perspective, the two together ran at up to £200 a month.  Now I suspect that will be £150 due to the change in charge anytim

Can I ask, why if you’re on Pay As You Go, you can’t any rewards ? also I have air source heating and no option for a cheaper tariff 

Hello, I've recently had a hypervolt 3 pro installed and I've got it connected up to the charge anytime app, which is now controlling the charging schedules. However, whilst it shows when the car is charging on the app, after the car has charged there is no record of it at all. If I go to they hypervolt app all the charges are listed on there, but on the OVO app my October activity is showing as 0. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing it? Many Thanks JP

I can not find the charge now function (urgent charge) on the new app ?? Additionally the charger is now cutting off at 90 % when I have selected 100% - why ?

My landlord is concerned as on my last gas inspection he has noticed that my meter is corroded. 

Here goes I have a single tariff smart meter . I need take out my coal central heating due to health reason.I need a meter that can accommodate economy 7 or similar (2 rates) as I couldn't afford to run on a single tarrif And ideas would be helpful thanks 

I'm moving into a new home. Got the keys but not physically moving for a week. On the tenancy pack, the letting agents have provided readings.I've created an OVO account. A smart meter display was already plugged in so readings are already being sent. Checked my new account. No gas reading yet but the electricity is way off from what was in the tenancy pack. I've never had smart meter before, so I'm wandering when this was installed does it start at '0' so will differ from the main meter? I was trying to lower the stress and get things sorted before the physical move but this has just added to it. I can't remember the exact figure but tenancy pack was roughly 33000 and my OVO accounts showing a reading of 20600.
