Trying to claim the reward for restaurants but it says I've used the voucher?

I’ve tried to claim the reward for restaurants but couldn’t find the QR code. After looking at the map to see what restaurants are available the Rewards Company flag up that I’ve already used the voucher.

it’s so difficult to claim a reward and get a voucher code and I wish that OVO would save the money and reduce our bills instead. It would be OK to be offered a reward if it could be used.

I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you’ve had with the QR code. It might be worth you reaching out to TLC to see if they can see what went wrong, and whether they’d be able to give you a new QR.

This has been a common theme for at least the past decade if not longer. Companies offering side benefits instead of the opportunity to reduce bills through specific actions or choices. Hard discounts replaced by a lottery, draw schemes or vouchers. My thought on this is that the older generations valued hard cash discounts but more recent generations view life through the lens of lotteries and prize draws. We can probably track down the origin of this to the start of the National Lottery because that changed the landscape of what is perceived to be a benefit.

 

The only cure would probably be to look to see if any energy supplier is not actively using this instead of hard discounts. I also suspect that it was the imposition of the Energy Cap by the government through Ofgem that is stifling real competition between energy companies so the only wiggle room left is side benefits that don't actually amount to much except to those who have an actual need for them. A bargain is only a bargain if you needed it in the first place.

 

I wish you luck on finding a fix for that.

I don't mind companies providing rewards schemes but they should at least be easy to use. This particular scheme is very difficult. When I got to the important part of obtaining a code to use at the restaurant I was told the code has already been used. ☹️

Thanks Ben, I’ve tried that already, they sent a code to enable me to get a QR Code but it didn’t work. It just told me the code has already been used. It’s not worth the all the time and effort just to save a small amount of money.

why can’t you just give customers a discount code directly instead of making us jump through hoops.
