3 times this year I have received a bill which covers just 1 day (or zero days) after my usual bill has been issued. My billing period is 6th to 5th. I don't have a DD, & I don't have a smart meter. I pay for what I use monthly. I give a meter reading on the 6th of each month.Looking on the website the usual bill for 6th Aug - 5th Sept was ready, but there was also a bill for 6th Sept - 7th Sept. On 2 previous occasions I've had "zero" day bills for 6th July - 6th July, and 6th April - 6th April. I emailed OVO on 2 previous occasions about these spurious bills. I received a phone call back, but they couldn't explain why this was happening. There appears to be some kind of glitch in their billing system. I was wondering if anyone else has had these.Another odd thing is that the amount that I owe on the email I receive doesn't correspond to the total amount of the bills when added together. After being moved from quarterly to monthly billing last year, I usually receive an email showing the amount to pay shortly after the bill end date each month, after which I proceed to pay.  However, I have not received the usual email last month, even though My OVO account shows the bill available for the corresponding period. When I was on quarterly billing, the OVO customer service team confirmed that I only had to pay after receiving the ‘Your bill is ready’ email (every 3 months), even if My Ovo account showed interim bills available. I’m not sure if this still applies now or not.

Have tried phoning and using chat to contact Ovo. Had an email on the 1st January to say my payments would be increasing from £60 a month to £508 a month. I read my meter in November and think I must have sent the wrong numbers. (Sorry, 70 year old brain) I sent new readings with photos of meter readings on the 2nd January and have sent again today.  I am getting very worried about having to pay so much.  I live in a small one bedroom flat.  No oven, washing machine or tumble dryer.  Have an electric shower and use one radiator in the bedroom which I have on around 5 hours a day (less on some days). My apologies for this being very long winded.  I am just very frustrated at not being able to contact anyone to talk to.   

I use the OVO Energy integration to monitor and record my energy usage in Home Assistant, and I noticed today that the integration stopped providing data to my meter reading entities around 4 days ago. Does anyone know if this is a temporary thing and what the cause is?

Hoping someone can help shed some light on my current situation. We recently bought a new house on 5th December, and looked at whether I could take my current OVO account across from old to new address however not possible. I’ve been with OVO since 2021 and have had nothing but positive experiences so I was keen to stay with them.So I notified OVO immediately of a moving out date of 31/12/2025 whilst also asking for the Direct Debit (DD) to be cancelled with immediate effect (I believe this was requested with ample time). As we were a considerable amount in credit already, we were told OVO would just use that amount to cover the final bill and refund the remainder. We also had a smart meter fitted so any final readings would be automatically submitted to them.Fast forward to 01/01/2026 and OVO had taken the supposedly cancelled DD out of my account. Hi Ovo, I wondered whether the API that powers your live and historical usage page in the account menu is something you could look into opening up a bit so we can freely access our raw data and also perhaps it may stimulate some interesting community projects? For instance (more sport related), Strava and Fitbit.

Hi, Thanks for reading. I have a dumb prepay meter, which I have been topping up with the prepay card. However, for some reason, about a month ago I was put on a pay monthly plan without my knowledge. I now owe £97 on this account, even though I have kept my prepay meter in credit.I have also had a letter asking me to book a engineer visit to look at my gas meter. When I tried to book the visit, I explained the situation to the customer service team, and was told to ignore it and send pictures of my gas and electric meters over email - they would then verify the meters that way. I have done this, but I have received no follow up email, and no action has been taken regarding changing my account back to prepay. How do I get my account back to just prepay? Thanks in advance.

Long story short. Received the ‘Welcome to your new Home’ letter from OVO, set up new account using given Ac No. Wouldn't recognise Ac No, spoke to Helpline, that issue resolved and continued to set-up account. Then received a ‘Ready to finish setting up your online account?’ email to confirm email address. Done. Tried to log-on, but just get the ‘We're working on a new website for you’ page - I’m wondering if this is the OVO equivalent of the ‘blue screen of death’?  Any help appreciated as I’m reluctant to lose an hour+ waiting on the Helpline.

Hi all, I'm extremely vulnerable person. I'm scared of everything. I've been using my gas boiler more than usual, especially since I've had the winter payment help from the government, to have on heating and more baths. It's basically doubled my normal usage I'm TERRIFIED that when I send my readings (not a smart meter and I give monthly reading), they'll ring me and say it's too high and come and remove my gas meter and replace it as they'll assume it's faulty, but it's not, I've been checking every day.I can't have disruption or be without gas.  😓

I cannot see the boiler bundle for existing customers on the app or the web. When I spoke to OVO customer service they said it was being resolved (3 weeks ago) Any suggestions ?

Good afternoon,According to my ovo bill, I’m on the following tariff:Simpler Energy - Economy 10 My property is an all electric flat, originally supplied by SSE but subsequently transferred to OVO.I have always been on economy 10. I have a smart meter, which was fitted by OVO. To ensure that I’m not getting fleeced, I want to check: the hours of the day that are deemed off-peak the price rates being applied to the off-peak and peak hours.How can I check the above? thanks in advance

My local area had its gas supply upgraded by northern gas from old pipes to new and when they did this they ran new gas pipes up to every property and capped them. If you used gas they attached your meter and everything was uncapped and back to normal. We do not use any gas in our property so our supply is capped outside our property to an empty white box. we still have the meter we always had inside the property but its not connected to a supply or any appliances (ie cooker, heating) it just sits there doing nothing. i spoke to someone at Ovo and they wanted £80 to remove it even though it’s not connected to any supply, so we left it in as the standing charge is about the same. We are at the end of our contract with OVO now and we will save money if we change supplier. My questions are....do I still have to pay for both gas and electric with the new supplier? Who does the redundant meter belong to when we do change?

Ovo want to increase by direct debits so that I am one month in credit by the end of March next year. I queried this with them as previously the payments were worked out so that the amount was £0 at the end of the 12 month period. They’ve said they have changed their DDM calculations so I have to accept this. I think this is v unfair. Is there any way round this? 

What is the current unit rate and standing charges for gas and electric with OVO? My fixed deal ends soon so looking at the best options.

Can OVO say whether the removal on 1 April 2026 of the cost of the ECO and most of the RO will benefit all their customers, regardless of the type of plan they’re signed up for? We learned that curtailing these costs will lead to a £134 reduction in the typical medium-consumption household’s annual energy bills. It’s impossible to work out whether these costs are currently covered by unit rates or standing charges, and no-one seems to know how suppliers are going to act to reduce bills. Am I going to have to pay a £75 exit fee to escape from a fixed-rate tariff so I can earn - how much? Does anyone know what OVO is going to do?

My new SMETS 2 meters were installed in mid September.  Since then, there has been no change in my account page.  The last entry there was that my electricity and gas were to be supplied from 5 May.  My smart gas meter does not appear to be sending any data, I’m only getting a feed from the electricity meter.I would like an idea of my usage, given the state of the fuel industry at the moment, I would at least like to have an idea if I will be in for some nasty surprises downstream. 

My apartment is on electricity only! why my electricity  heating using 10KW to run in 50 minutes! It cost me 4£ to run for only 50 minutes! 

Switched away from OVO back in June. In July the final bill was provided at £0.14 in credit on the 18th of July.On the 31st of October I recieved an email saying that a bill was outstanding and that it needed to be paid otherwise my credit score could be affected. The bill is £36.52 from the 18th of July, in direct disagreement with their first bill.Its been 3.5 months and now we owe them. I cant see why a charge is on the account, as we switched provider so arent on OVO to get a charge in the first place.On the 31st of October I emailed hello@ovoenergy.com and got the automated:Thank you for getting in touch.You should get a reply within 48 hours. Why, when I faithfully provide meter readings on time, each month, does OVO still give estimated readings on my bills?

Why has my online account lost my meter reading history for my non-smart gas meter?I note that the font has changed on the entry page, so OVO must have made a change to this feature and now that they have made that change, my previous readings have all disappeared.Is this a bug, or a new feature?Do other people see this issue? 

I’m reading a few recent posts on another group that OVO have stopped offering E10, and are now offering E7/E8 or E9, I’m aware that until recently OVO were the only supplier offering E10, can anyone else confirm this. Bit baffling as technically E9 and E10 are very similar - but obviously E9 has 1 hour less, are OVO just looking to save some money?
