Why can't I download the ovo app as I get the error message "not available in this country"

Are you using a VPN ie. One that is saying your IP is in adifferent country?

No vpn turned off 

​@Beaglepup  With IPv4 addresses slowly being depleted, ISP’s sometimes shift / reallocate ip addresses from overseas to bolster their need & customer base here in the uk.

 Eventually the geo location will match & end up being tagged correctly. (days or months)

(isp dependant) Usually unplugging you router for 30mins, then power it up, should land you with a changed ip, hopefully one correctly flagged as uk based.

A couple of years ago on the software company forum where I am a moderator we got a rash of Spanish and Italian users asking why they were suddenly being geo-blocked from accessing the software that had paid for and had been happily using for years.

It turned out that an ISP operating mainly in Spain and Italy had acquired a batch of IPs that had originally been allocated to Iran, and so had been geo-blocked.

It did eventually sort itself out after a few months once the reallocation of the IPs had been updated on the various geo-blocking listings (there is no central database).*

I’ve not heard of anything like it happening on the UK (yet) but there is no reason why it couldn’t, and ​@Beaglepup  may be in the vanguard?

*(One suggestion that we made to those affected by the geo-block was to temporarily use a VPN, set to say that they were in a different city in their own country. Sounds odd but it usually worked for those who tried it).
