Hi everyone,So, there’s a lot of talk/speculation about fuel prices increasing in October, my question is, would I benefit from changing to my current plan which is at the variable rate (Simpler Energy) to another plan, eg, a one year fixed price plan?I have done a comparison of rates and standing charges and it seems a ‘swings and roundabouts’ thing, but of course that is as things are currently. I understand no-one has a crystal ball but I’m interested in people’s opinionsThank you.

Hi. I want to provide my meter readings but my account is not giving me the option to do it. It says my smart meter is sending readings automatically...but I dont have, and never have had, a smart meter!

Having informed my current utility provider of my impending move, they have advised me that I am unable to do this as the take-over request has been blocked by OVO at the new house. What are the possible ramifications? If the ‘soon-to-be-ex-owner’ hasn’t paid the gas bill and has hefty arrears, can OVO refuse to provide a supply to me as the soon-to-be-new-owner?Any knowledge or advice gratefully received.

Hello Like most people in this forum, I've recently started having issues with my Ford MachE using charge anytime. I seen on another thread we're hopeful to have an update today, can anyone confirm if we've a resolution.Ill simply have no other option but to leave and join one of the company's offering a discounted EV

i am about to take delivery of my first ev, had my charger recently installed and activated charge anytime on my accounti was just wondering if i have it plugged in and on a schedule to charge, what if i need to use my car before the scheduled charge has finished, do i just unplug or do i need to cancel through the app first? 

Please help from the hive mind!We had our Indra Smart Pro replaced under warranty last week - we also have solar panels and used the solar matching option successfully for 3 years - however we now no longer seem to be able to switch to non boost mode? Previously toggling between Boost and Eco allowed the 1.5kw cheaper rate but it toggles between “solar” at 7.4kw and Boost at 7.kw. Even when there is no sun? anyone had similar issues? Indra have been of little help.

Is there a way of asking Ovo to show me their Power Move calculations?  I work out my usage and percentage, based on the data available to me on the Usage page of my account, and compare it to Ovo’s mid-month and end of month figure.  The mid-august figure, received by email today, is wildly different from mine.   We never agree exactly, but we’re usually pretty close.  I’ve double checked my figures and I think they are right.

Hi.  Just received an email from OVO relating to fixed price energy tariffs which is great as I would consider moving from my variable one onto one that might help me budget better towards winter energy bills by fixing my consumption rates.However, why is it that any deals are always offered subject to conditions such as changing your payment method over to DD or getting a smart meter?  Why can’t customers just be allowed to sign up to these deals without feeling like they are being discriminated against by not agreeing to the conditions?I don’t want a smart meter or to pay by DD so why can’t I take advantage of fixing my energy costs?  OVO please - fairness and energy equality for ALL of your customers. 

I recently replaced my storage heaters with oil-filled heaters. I am on THTC and the new heaters only received power when the signal indicates a top up.

How to get OVO/SSE to pay what they agree they owe after switching awayAfter switching the electricity supply away from OVO/SSE in March 2023 it took a while for the closing meter readings to be agreed. Eventually OVO/SSE produced a bill dated 13 September 2023 and headed "Your amended final electricity statement"The bill says "We owe you £2,220.77. We’ll transfer this amount into your bank account on or soon after 25 September 2023."However, another bill dated 15 September 2023 (two days after the above bill) credited the account with a goodwill payment of £75, but changed the wording to "Your account is in credit by £2,295.77. We’ll put this credit towards your next statement, so you’ll pay less." As OVO/SSE were no longer the supplier there would never be a "next statement", so this was less than helpful.We still have these bills as evidence.Several phone calls have not met with success - varying from "That's an old SSE account number. How long does it take for a profile class change to happen? I recently had smart meters installed and at the same time asked for my profile class to be changed from “02” to “01” so I wont have to deal with getting future quotes for E7 tariffs. The odd thing is that around the same time as having the smart meters and the request for a profile class change is that my account is showing no active energy tariff. I don’t know if that is connected or not but chatting with OE they tried suggesting that my tariff was not set up, even tough I clearly have emails to show it has been and was active up and until the smart meter install. My IHD even shows the correct tariff.

A man knocked this morning claiming to be from OVO and wanting to read my smart electric meter. I told him they are not manually read. He said they have to be manually read at least once a year. I said that was not so. Who was he? Who sent him?

How many Ovo fitted smart meters have failed 

Anyone using OVO charge Anytime?My car has been plugged into my Hypervolt charger for over an hour. Upcoming schedule was showing, now no upcoming schedules are showing on my charger app.I have used OVO Charge Anytime a couple of times before over the past week with no problems.I’m concerned that my car won’t be charged in the morning.Anyone else had this? 

I'm having a long and stressful problem because my meter stopped working and I'm told that I can't have a new one.  This has lead to them estimating use, but this is wildly over my usual usage. When I call it takes ages to explain all this and even if I get through to accounts, I get no satisfactory answer. My emails are not replied to beyond 'we'll get back to you' then they tell me they are entitled to take what they want.I'm retired, on a small pension and want to pay for what I use.  I contacted Ombudsman and they told me to ask for a record of complaint, OVO didn't respond to my request.  I'm not in the best of health and the stress of this is making me ill.  Despite being over £1,400 in credit I am threatened with debt collectors if I cancel my dd. Please help me.

Why did I get an email from ovo saying I need to have at least 14 weekday readings, so do not qualify last month even though I can see 18 weekday,listing of Half hourly readings, for the month?

Earlier this week Ford Pass suspended my account as linked with OVO (3rd Party App)Therefore I am unable to use and will cost c£100 per month more on my electricity bill.Is anyone else experiencing this issue and what are Ford and OVO doing to resolve?I use a Pod Point 7kw charger to charge a Ford Mustang Mach E XL using the OVO Charge anytime App linked to my Ford Pass for the smart charging to give me best rate.

I have a Ford Mach-E and have been using OVO charge anytime for about 4 months now.But Ford have decided OVO is a security risk and has blocked the account.Is anyone else using this successfully? Is there any plans for charge anytime to support Ford cars?

I have got my feedback for this months Powermove and I’ve made it to 6.94%, i.e £5. I’ve never had anything other than the maximum before. During 6-9 Monday to Friday we do not cook with electricty, we do not use the washing machine or tumble drier, not even the iron or the toaster and we minimise the light. We use everything outside those hours, so how, in the name of all that is holy, can we not have made it to a £10 discount? We go to great efforts to do this, because we believe it’s constructive, but either I’ve got this wrong or OVO are conning us.

We had new smart meters installed on Tuesday and a IHD3 box  and  yesterday a small envelope icon and display showing new message appeared. Does anyone know how to display message ... Tried tapping the icon but nothing happens.

Quite a long one here so apologies up front.  I’m out of patience with the Ovo customer manager after almost a year of conversations since my account was transferred.  I have a holiday cottage I don’t get to as much as I would like.There were a series of power cuts in the area, the jittering power caused the old SSE metering equipment to fail.  As a result, my storage heating was off for almost a year which is an issue as I need it on to keep damp off the lochside location.  SSE would not acknowledge the fault on their equipment and blamed my storage heaters for failing.  I replaced two of the heaters and still they didn’t work.When I reported this to SSE, they said they would like to send an engineer but couldn’t due to them all being transferred to Ovo.  I would have to wait until my account was novated to Ovo before they could act.  Called it in to Ovo shortly after the transfer and waited over four weeks for an engineer.  Engineer cancelled on the day due to the type of meter I had

GreetingsI went to pay my balance today and Ovo have changed the way payments are made. Now you have to scan a code and then go and login to your phone banking and then setup a payment there. That didn’t work obviously, so I tried to do it manually but now it makes me login to my online banking too. This used to be so easy.Given that Ovo doesn’t actually supply any Gas or Electricity to anyone on the planet (it is just a billing agent) wouldn’t it be useful if billing ( the one and only thing it does) was made convenient and easy for the customer? Just a thought 🤔 I think I’m going to find a  proper billing agent now and get away from this nonsense
