We had our Indra Smart Pro replaced under warranty last week - we also have solar panels and used the solar matching option successfully for 3 years - however we now no longer seem to be able to switch to non boost mode? Previously toggling between Boost and Eco allowed the 1.5kw cheaper rate but it toggles between “solar” at 7.4kw and Boost at 7.kw. Even when there is no sun?
anyone had similar issues? Indra have been of little help.

Hi @drwanderson , I wonder if there’s been something on the solar settings which have altered (from your previous unit)? The guide suggests
Was this your expectation previously?
I have checked but they are unchanged - as far as I can see anyway - our panels only price a max of 4kw and in reality it used to be about 3.5kw previously - but the pro smart is reporting 7.4kw solar which is obviously wrong.
Hey @drwanderson,
I’ve also asked the question with our Charge Anytime team to see if this is something they’ve came across before. Once I get a reply i’ll come back and update the thread!
I know you’ve said you’ve not had much luck with Indra, but it might be worth following up with them and asking them what else they can do to support you!
I’m sorry we can’t fix it for you. We’re always around for advice if needed, and @BPLightlog is well known for their knowledge of Solar!
Thanks Chris - had a call back this morning - they have asked for a photo of the meter cupboard to view the blue CT clamp - can’t actually see one myself lol - I have forwarded a pic back to them anyhoo! Unless it’s the white one - I am no expert obviously lol
Well the only clamp there is certainly white. That will have an arrow on the moulding and it needs to be connected on the correct cable and pointing the right way for things to operate properly.
From the installer guide ..
Thanks - yeah I mean it has always just been there …. and it all used to work fine ….
@BPLightlog is it normal to use Ethernet cable. I have no knowledge in this area, but as this worked previously the thought that occurs to me is which two wires have now been connected at the other end.

They do use Ethernet cable normally as it helps to keep a clean signal. Often a multipair is used so it is important that the same pair is used (fairly obviously) .. I have seen faux pas on that, although in this case I’m not sure the clamp or cable has changed.
For this particular use case, you’d probably also want Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) Ethernet cables, rather than Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Cables - gives that extra protection against interference.
With that being said, I routinely send 48V of Power over Ethernet down CAT5e and CAT6 UTP Ethernet Cables without issue...
In this case, the cable shows it is foil shielded twisted pair
