Problems with Charge Anytime app 'Urgent Charge' functionality
I have the Charge Anytime app all set up and working with my Tesla.Everything is fine, if I just leave it to do it’s thing, but I have a problem when using the ‘Urgent Charge’ function. Basically it will just stop charging randomly.I hit the Urgent Charge button in the app and after waiting a bit the car sometimes starts charging without doing anything, and sometimes I have to go to the car app and hit the ‘Start Charge’ button. Either way it will stop charging sometimes after a few minutes, and I’ll have to do it all again. This means that any time I need to charge I basically have to keep checking the car app, which is useless.Anyone else have this problem, or a solution?I did wonder if it was anything to do with my partner also having the app. When I set it up on their phone I used their Tesla account credentials (for access to the car), so I wondered if the two might be competing in some way? Both apps will show the urgent charge status when it’s switched on with either of them.
Will the Anytime EV add on work with Podpoint or will I need to change the EV charger?
Ive just gone onto the OVO drive tariff and want the Anytime Plan But I already have a Pod Point charger at home. Will the Anytime work with Podpoint or will I need to change the charger? I have a SMET2 smart meter.
Mismatch in electricity imported on my solar PV app compared to my smart meter and OVO online account?
Hey, im wondering if anyone else has had similar issues, I was advised against smart meters due to their history of being inaccurate but figured was just paranoia. Below you can see on the 9/3/23 I was charged for 30Kw of electricity, despite only using 22kw from the grid that day (to charge my car), I notice couple days before it also has slight over spending despite again not consuming that much from the grid. I sadly only got Solar this week so this may have been going on for the past couple months too (our routines haven’t changed) curious on anyone’s thought?
Charge Anytime direct to vehicle not compatible with Polestar electric vehicles?
Hi there,I am an OVO customer and got very excited when Charge Anytime was launched. However, I’ve just discovered my Polestar 2 isn’t compatible. Quite staggering. How is this possible when the Volvo XC40 and XC60 are?Am I missing something? Thanks.
Charge Anytime direct to vehicle not compatible with VW electric vehicles?
I’m new to EVs and looking to switch energy suppliers. We’ve just purchased a used VW e-Golf. My wife uses it and only does a maximum of twenty miles a day which we’ve worked out we can easily replenish in just a few hours. across the granny cable. With this in mind we were looking to switch to the Ovo anytime tariff. However on checking the vehicle compatibility every VW group vehicle seems to be compatible except VW vehicles themselves. Another Facebook page seems to indicate that as long as the car connects to the web and the smart meters can be read at thirty minute intervals, just because it’s not listed shouldn’t be a problem. I did ask Ovo for clarification but I just got sent the link I already have to check the list. Anyone got an e-Golf using this tariff over a standard three pin granny cable who can shed some light on this? For some reason I’m not convinced the agents at Ovo have a clue.
Charging via anytime
I have noted from others that instructions are non existent especially for 80 years olds.I yesterday returned from a holiday to find my Kaluza app had disappeared from my iPad.It when I eventually found it refused to accept my password.I then tried to join the charge anytime and eventually today using the old password as a reset password joined up, I think. What I need to know is, when I have finished with the car each day, do I just plug it in to the charger (Indra) and it does it with me doing no more? I have filled in the times in the Kaluza page and it looks just like the Indra page.Is there anything else I have to do?
Indra charger and connection to OVO / Kaluza for cheap rate EV charging
HiI’ve just had an Indra charger installed on the basis its on the OVO site as one they support with cheap energy rates. The Indra charger is set up on the app and I’ve followed all the links on the OVO website which say we are eligible until we come to the connect via Kaluza page. ( SEE BELOW)I add my charger user name from Indra ( it has no password) therefore can someone assist on how I connect to energy tariff. Thanks
How do Indra app and OVO Charge Anytime app work together?
I have an Indra Smart Pro charger which I can control using the Indra Web app. I recently installed the Charge Anytime app and connected it to my car. Both are based on Kaluza but are seemingly different, although they both claim to charge at the times electricity is more renewable. If I set a different "ready by" time in each, which one wins?I've also plugged in my car this evening, and the Indra app says it's plugged in but not yet charging, and the Charge Anytime app says the car is unplugged! I need the car to be charged by the morning so I'll have to keep my eye on that. I've also noticed that I've not had any data from the smart meter since Thursday morning so perhaps that has something to do with it?

Charge Anytime - my car is not at home when it is!
I’ve set up Charge Anytime account and put my house on the map during set up. My car is on the drive charging now but app is saying it is not at home (so it charges as soon as I plug in). There are no settings option in the app to adjust things like my location??Anything I can do?
What details do I need to know to complete an OVO Feed In Tariff (FIT) change of ownership form for solar panels that I have inherited?
My husband died recently and I have to complete this form to put the solar panels in my name but I’m struggling with some of it, such as ‘who is your current FIT licensee? Do they mean Ovo? page 7 I have no idea, Meter make, model & serial number??I have tried to speak to someone on the phone but if I manage to get through no one seems to be able to help.
Indra smart pro EV charger and solar - does the tariff change to normal import rates to finish the cars charge when there’s not enough excess power to fill the car?
Hi, I’m just wondering when my Indra smart pro Ev charger is using solar energy to charge my car does the tariff change to normal house tariff to finish the cars charge when there’s not enough excess power to fill the car??I understand it doesn’t switch off charging when suns away. Just wondering if it’s the 10p rate or the higher rate to finish it off.
EV Anytime - Next charging times without connecting car
I've recently started using the EV Anytime add on and am largely delighted with it, however one slight issue I've experienced - as someone who doesn't have off-street parking / a driveway - is that I need to hook my car up to the charger before the app will advise when it will next charge. This isn't ideal as I don't necessarily want to leave the car connected to the charger whilst the cable needs to run over the pavement (albeit within a pavement 'ramp') overnight. If there was a way to ascertain when I can next charge the car just from the app (without needing to connect to the charger) this would allow me to go out at that time (if it's a suitable time), instead of hooking the car up to only then be advised it might be another 6/12 hours before charging can start. Is there scope for this to be considered within a future release/upgrade of the app? Thanks
Using a Nest smart thermostat with an Air Source Heat Pump - What are the optimum settings?
Hi there,I’m having issues with Nest turning my heating on early enough. My heat schedule is 21C during the day, 19C from 9:30pm, then back to 21C at 7:30am. My understanding is that overnight the Nest is supposed to look at the temp change to 21C at 7:30am, look at the current house temp, and the temp outside, and figure out when to turn on such that the house reaches 21C at 7:30amIt never even gets close for me. Usually the house gets to 21C at 9am or later. This morning was the worst so far, I assume because it was so cold overnight (-3C). It turned on at 6:45am, which is insane. It takes about 3 hours on a cold morning to get from 19C to 21C. Right now the temp is 21C. If I use the Nest controller and set the heat to 22C, it says “in 20 mins”, but there is no way the heat pump can change the heat that fast. It would be an hour plus.In the nest app controls It says “Time to Temp → Ready” and “True Radiant → On Ready”Anyone else having issues or is it just me? ThanksJames
Applied for OVO's smart export guarantee (SEG) - how long till it's set up?
Having installed our solar panels, we applied to receive the OVO Smart energy guarantee payments and sent the requested initial export meter reading on the 12th July, which will be seven weeks ago tomorrow. We were told that we would receive the welcome email within four weeks from receiving this initial meter reading. Is it normal to have to wait this long? I cannot speak to the SEG team by phone and any email sent just gets a standard reply that a response will be within 15 days.Getting frustrated now Malcolm
Charge Anytime - If I were to run my washing machine while the car is being charged under control of the app, would it the discount?
I’m loving Charge Anytime , now I’m becoming familiar with its performance. Was surprised at first that when I plug my car in it starts charging immediately but if I’m patient and wait maybe 7-9 minutes the system takes control, charging stops and restarts when scheduled by the app.The possibly dumb question which just occured to me is this: If I were to run my washing machine while the car is being charged under control of the app, would its consumption also attract the discount? How does my smart meter know which machine is receiving the electricity?
Get a Zero Emission Boiler installed in your home for freeNews
Join our Neat Heat trial We’re running this trial in collaboration with UK Power Networks and tepeo. The Neat Heat trial aims to explore the role of ‘Zero Emission Boilers’ (ZEB®) in the transition to zero carbon heating. Why is this trial important? The way we heat our homes accounts for 17% of the UK’s carbon emissions. That’s a huge percentage and electrification of heat is important to help bring that figure down. We’ve led a few trials that test heat pumps as a solution to help our customers transition to zero carbon heating. However, we know that heat pumps aren’t suitable for all homes. This trial will help test an alternative solution for those homes - helping us to ensure that no one is left behind during this transition. What do customers get for joining this trial? We’re looking for 30 customers to take part. These 30 customers will get: A tepeo Zero Emission Boiler (ZEB®) worth up to £7,500 – provided and installed for free by tepeo¹ Neat Heat credits that let you charge
Does OVO still have an EV plan?
I have just changed from a Hybrid to 100%EV with 98kWH battery. I have already got a home charger via the OVO scheme and am on a smart meter with the current Simpler Energy variable programme. Is their an EV friendly tariff still running that would be of benefit to me?
