Heat Pump Plus Tariff with Solar Panels

Is anyone on the Heat Pump Plus Tariff and has solar panels? How does it work? How does the Heat Pump Plus tariff calculate the electricity used by a heat pump if some is generated by solar and not imported? Is it as simple as the 15p/kWh cost being applied to any electricity imported, up to the amount that the heat pump has used? Over what period is this calculated?

Morning @amac and welcome to the Forum,

Before answering this, could I just confirm whether you’re on the Heat Pump Plus tariff already? Do you have a heat pump and/or solar panels already?

Good morning Ben

I am not currently an OVO customer. I have an Ecodan ASHP (The tariff is currently closed to new Ecodan customers, but I have registered an interest to be informed if it becomes available again.) I also have solar panels.

Thanks for letting me know.

Sorry to say that, at the moment, we’re not accepting new customers onto the Heat Pump Plus tariff I’m afraid. Apologies!

I that case, perhaps you should let OVO know that their website is displaying wrong information, because it says OVO IS accepting new customers wit Vaillant or Viessmann Heat Pumps on to the Heat Pump Plus tariff; It is just Ecodan customers they are not accepting for now.

In the meantime, is there anyone else out there who can answer the question I actually asked?
