Hello, Is OVO Top Up website down today?  I tried the app it had no information on it so I cleared cache and data and it reappeared but site says insecure website.

Since the price change in July my smart meter has not updated to show the new tariff rates and standing charges. What can I do about this as as one of the main reasons for having a smart meter surely is to have accurate pricing information on hand?Any advice would be appreciated.  

Hi. We have just had a new Aclara meter fitted so we can monitor our export from the solar but it has been stuck on 000007kwh for last 4 days when my solar app says during that period I have exported at least 45kwh. Any ideas why this may be?  Thanks. . 

This is very unusual, but if I log into the OVO website using Firefox, I do not get the same offers within the Offers page than if I do when I log in using Chrome or Edge.I have cleared the OVO cookies and cache from Firefox, closed the browser and reopened it, make it makes no difference.Anyone else had this issue?

In the Offers section, I have the option to add Charge Anytime, but my charger will not be installed until the 7th August.Does it make any difference if I add Charge Anytime now, or should I wait until after the charger is installed?

Hi all,Just had an EV charger installed at my MiL’s for me & my wife’s cars and would like to switch my MiLs plan to OVO from Scottish Power as I don’t believe they offer cheap rate EV charging.She hasn’t got a smart meter yet, my question is- can we request a Smart Meter fitting as part of the switch process, or do we switch then get a Smart Meter, or get one fitted then switch?I know what we need to do, just not sure in what order!thanks in advance

To permit a lower DD than OVO systems currently allow for V2G active customers (to reflect what the house really uses) is to  utilise  a simple “V2G flag” to allow half (or any sensible fraction) of the computed DD to be set. This will go a long way to help set an affordable payment, especially helping the vulnerable who struggle to raise extra funds to pay this forced inflated amount.

Hi all. Sorry, I'm only able to ask questions here atm. I made a phone call and the line at the other end (after a considerable wait but at least able to hear the wait music) was far too poor to be able to hear anything. I think she was trying to suggest chat, hard to tell with the line so very bad, but despite now trying 3 times it keeps telling me there's no one to talk to me, so phone in. Round in circles. Frustrating to say the least. Anyway...…Our current fix ends in sept, 7 days before the new price cap will be due. There are some fixes which for various reasons we are thinking about, but as you can guess they are eye watering! However, I have some queries about them so I'm hoping there are some OVO employed bods around here somewhere. The drive tariff is ridiculous quite frankly, but I'd think about it if we can find out if the Anytime add on is still available, and how much would the price be on that when smart charging. That's what we have now. Also, are there any time of use

The gas supply to our apartments has been disconnected awaiting repairs.  Do I have to pay standing charge during this period?

My SMETS1 Secure Pipit In Home Display (IHD) has a persistent problem in which it is unable to display gas usage statistics.On power up the IHD display unit powers up as normal and connects to the HAN. After 2-3 minutes it downloads data from the external gas & electricity smart meters and then successfully displays current energy usage and yesterday’s consumption stats for both gas and electricity. Everything behaves as expected apart from the “History” display section. The “History” display for electricity usage is 100% fine. This shows up-to-date electricity usage stats. All is as expected.The “History” display for gas consumption however is out of date and faulty. This doesn’t show any hour-by-hour gas consumption figures for today (only the cumulative total). The history figures shown are those for a 12-month period which ended many months ago and the display has remained “stuck” in this incorrect state since that date. My 16 July bill is going to have a zero balance. At current rates - I’m on a variable tariff - I expect to use roughly £80 worth of gas and electricity per month from now to mid-October, then £140 per month from mid-October to mid-April, then back to £80 per month over the summer. Therefore, £1320 in total.£1320 divided by 12 = £110 per month. Now, OVO’s system seems quite happy for me to set my monthly direct debit to £110. But if I do, this is what’s going to happen:  That is to say: every year going forward, five of my monthly bills will be in credit, five will be in debit, and two (for July and January) will have a zero balance.My question is: is OVO fine with this, or will I be hassled - and my account end up in collections - when my account goes into debit in February?

We all know the price of energy is gas and oil is increasing and for some reason the price of renewable electricity is being hiked up too but why is my Standing charge going to increase from 22p to 37p when my current plan expires?  This seems like extortionate opportunism by OVO and i would like them to justify it .  The online option to contact them has been removed so I am trying this forum for an answer.

Until a few days ago my OVO App displayed both my electricity usage in kWh and the cost of the energy used daily/monthly etc. I was able to toggle between kWh and £ as required, however this feature is no longer displayed and I can only view abbreviated information in kWh only.I have re download the app on both my iPhone and iPad but to no avail. Is there a bug in the app?As I live in a rural area with no gas supply, being able to monitor my usage costs is important. Unfortunately, my smart meter display stopped working many months ago, and despite numerous emails, sending photos and endless phone calls no replacement was forthcoming.  Please help, I’m getting very fed-up now! Hello, I've just joined OVO from British Gas as of today and I've been asked to provide a meter reading. I'm not sure whether I need to do this, as I have a smart meter, but if I do, how do i do it? I thought I'd managed it, but the readings are not being accepted 

I am asking this on behalf of a relative who is in her 70’s and partially sighted.She replaced her night storage heaters over a year ago to Rointe kyros heaters.She unfortunately did not speak to SSE /OVO about this change so has been on the Standard SuperDeal tarriff all winter and so has been paying 44.55p per KWh to use the heaters during the day.   Her bills have are not affordable.   I only found out about this when I called her on the phone the other week and she said she was feeling rather depressed, because she has just been asked to increase her monthly direct debit.  Having looked at her bills, I suggested she should be on the simpler energy tariff at 30p per KWh.    As I am not the account holder I asked her to call customer services to help with this.They said she could not move to this tariff.   After an hour on the phone, she was very confused by the whole situation.My question is; can she move to the simpler energy tariff or does she need a new meter installed.

I have MELCloud linked to my Mitubishi Ecodan air source heat pump.Recently I lost the internet connection and cannot establish a reconnection.My connection is via Access mode as my router does not have a WPS button.I am able to complete the process for reconnection correctly but it does not connect.I have previously been successful and there are no changes to my home network settings.I am wondering if;the MELCoud server is down?or if I have a non standard password to my home wifi network - it includes a ’ and has a space in it?Any help with reconnecting to the internet would be useful.

I have just had a solar panel system installed.It has a 6kw inverter and potentially 6kwh generation from the panels.I have an 8.5kw shower and when I use it the shower takes a lot of electricity from the grid even when the battery is fully charged. Is this normal or is there something wrong with the system set up?Advice would be very much welcomed Many thanks,Jackol

Ecodan COPGood morning  , I have just looked at the COP for March and seems to be 1.25 , which I believe is poor. 1.48 DHW and 1.10 for heating . I have the heating on weather compensation mode and hot wat at 45c eco mode .  New system just in since end of January so new to all of this !!!  4 bed detached , no UFH , 20c downstairs and 18c upstairs . 10 PV solar panels 4kw. Anything I should do to improve COP?

I have recently moved and my daughter is now paying for OVO energy at my old address.I was told I was due a cheque for a refund.I received a cheque this morning, but it is in my daughter’s name, not mine.How do I solve this?

Hi there, newbie here to Ovo and to smart meters - and certainly not an expert in electrical setup.We moved into our new property just 10 days ago. Still surrounded by boxes to unpack.I’m feeling a little stupid, but for the life of me I can’t find our electricity meter (or if I’ve found it, I don’t recognise it as one). I’ve found the smart gas meter, next to the gas boiler. This is a SMETS2 meter installed in 2021, with red A and black B buttons on. If I press either of them I get a gas reading with ‘m3’ units. There is also a honeywell smart thermostat. I’ve searched all around the outside of the property (front and back), and all the rooms, corridors, etc for the electricity meter. It’s not a huge property so there aren’t many places it could be.There is an electricity ‘meter box’ outside at the front with the standard triangular key. Inside there is a big Series 7 100A cut-out fuse box. But there is no meter as far as I can tell.The previous owner left no details or final reading

Bereavement FITSHi there,  hoping someone can help advise if they have been in a similar situation. My father passed away in Novemeber last year and I have been trying to get the OVO Team to get the account put into my name (create an account and transfer) I filled in the transfer form but have had nothing back for months now. I called and called “your account is going to get created soon” but nothing. I just had a cheque sent to me in my fathers name. This is all becoming a little disressoing!Kind regards,Jon.

My meter tells me that I have a message.  How do I retrieve it?

My electrical supply regularly trips but it is only the main isolator switch that trips not any RCDs in the consumer board.I am told that the existing isolator switch is probably faulty and OVO consider that this is chargeable item.Surely OVO have a duty of care to replace their own faulty equipment? I do not own this and it is existing equipment- is this correct that I should pay?
