Hello. Around a year ago I requested SSE to install a Smart Meter. They attempted this but even with an “extra large” aerial it wouldn’t connect to the network. So the engineer took it out and put back our old dumb meter. I asked about connecting via WiFi but that functionality isn’t available (which seems pretty dumb imo). My question are these: has the OVO takeover changed anything? Or have Telefonica/O2 improved their coverage (from frankly awful) in the last 12 months? Basically: is it worth trying again? And, as an aside; why don’t the meters communicate via WiFi? My mobile phone can use WiFi Calling so it’s perfectly possible. Thanks.

Can normal electricians help me with my OVO smart meter or does it have to be an OVO employee? Just wondering as I don’t think it is working properly.

Took a reading yesterday at 4pm them 9-30 pm message top up required when there was over £500 in my prepaid account. This morning showing over £100 disappeared over night and that's impossible 

From day one with OVO I have been able to see annual data and comparisons, rather than daily useage.It would appear that this functionality has been removed in preference for daily data returned by smart metres. I for one am not intending to micro-manage my energy consumption and am happy to check long term deviations and so spot increasing annual costs so I can budget accordingly.When questioned I am told this is probably due to issues at my end - wrong browser, clogged cache, and so on. Nonsense. You tell me that by clicking on usage that the options to see year on year comparisons should appear - they do not. When I go to the help centre and ask for my annual statement there is a check your yearly energy use box, which when clicked on re-routes me back to my monthly energy use in and endless loop. So broken links?Update issues?Is this something other folk are having issues with?What was a first rate site seems to be having issues with the latest update and basic functions either bro

Hoping someone can help with this smart meter problem.The little display plug in thing was working fine then suddenly it is only reading gas meter & not the electric meter.I have tried some suggestions about resetting,but nothing has worked.😒

I recently moved in to a new property as a tenant. Tried to set up a new account via phone service multiple times. Every time I call the costumer services would say they cannot do a new account for me as “I am not the owner of the property” ? And that when they enter my details it doesn’t match with the landlord ones (it does make sense because I am renting - not the owner).  They told me they had filed a complain and will look into it and get back to me, but I didn’t receive a call/email from anyone. After so many phone calls that were in vain, I set up a DD online. However, I didn’t receive a welcome email or any confirmation (despite entering my card details for DD and completing all the steps). I am desperate to find a solution as this issue has caused me a lot of stress.

I am currently on THTC but with a single rate for both meters as I don't have storage heaters or other timed appliances.   I am due to have a smart meter installed on Tuesday which I am very pleased about after lots of aggravation over recent months.  Because of the THTC system,  there are 2 consumer units for the different circuits in the flat.  Will the installation engineer do the necessary work to connect both consumer units into the meter?

I’m interested to hear from SSE former customers and if it resonates Ovo Energy customers.I transferred from SSE mid January 2022. My billing cycle was quarterly and bills came not long after the billing period. My bill was paid by a direct payment.At transfer Ovo Energy placed me on a monthly cycle running 13th of the month to the 12th of the following.Upon transfer my bill fell at transfer and I paid SSE. The money was transferred to Ovo, however my previous billing and usage with SSE was and still is not visible.For the period 13th March to the 12th April, I viewed my bill electronically I have smart meters and paid on the 13/4/22 shown on my bank statement as the 14/4/22. I paid modestly over the due amount and was in credit at the start of the billing period. A week later I received a bill from a Ovo indicating a debt.This debt was imaginary as their system appeared not to acknowledge my payment, even though my account did. why should car charging cost less than me heating my house?

A few weeks ago I received a new prepayment card. The instructions said to use up any credit and then insert the card.Last night my credit ran out I popped in the new on and was met with FAIL in big letters.I contacted ovo this morning at 9am where the representative had issues understanding. She kept telling me to put credit on it took ages for me to get her to understand I can't it says fail. She opened up a job for me at 9am saying that someone would be round in 3-4 hours. Five hours have now gone by I have spoken to webchat they told me they don't deal with heritage meters despite the person on the phone telling me to use this if there was a issue.No one has called I gave them my phone number and I have been on hold with customer services for half a hour at this point. I had to take the day off work to get this fixed.

I have just moved into a house and Ovo is my gas/electric supplier.  The house used to have an annex and has 2 electricity meters.  I have received 2 bills, one for gas/electricity for the main part of the house and one for electricity for the annex.  Unless there is any benefit to having 2 meters, how do I go about putting the supply onto a single meter so that I only receive one bill?  I don’t plan to let the annex out and it is part of the main house.Thank you.

Hi all, I’ve just come here from the MSE forum having been told that the meter system for an aberdeenshire council rented property I will be moving into soon is THTC.This huge bundle of cables and boxes is truly terrifying to me. I’ve been looking at things regarding economy meters and THTC on the internet tonight and it all means absolutely nothing! Add to that, the solar panels on the roof and it just becomes an even bigger mess. Apparently Octopus are the current supplier... So I was wondering if anyone can help me understand this whole system before I move in in a couple of weeks time. Especially regarding how and what gets replaced to convert it to a (hopefully!) simpler smart meter system.Most importantly, what do I do when I move in? Thank you in advance. Officer_Crabtree

Just lately our charge anytime is still charging after the set “ Ready by” time.We’ve set 6am as a ready by time yet the car is still charging at 06:51 after not charging at all between 18:00 and 06:00.No changes have been made to the app.

...and it’s driving us mad.  Every day at 03:15am it beeps five times, then pauses a while...then beeps five times again.  Anyone got any idea why?!

My parents live in their own house but are getting on and have found dealing with everyday bills confusing.  For the last few years I have been having the bills sent to me and I would pay them on their behalf with SSE.Since the change to OVO this sending of bills has stopped and I am not sure where the bills go (my parents say they are not going to them!)It would be good if I could have the bills sent to me again so I can pay them - but not change the supply address. I know I can see the bills online but this is not what I want.I can’t see how this can be set-up on-line.Is it possible?

In January my account suddenly had a creditvl of £1600 when I should have been in credit by £400. I looked at my online bills which had become minus figures. I did report it and a couple of times since. Ovo can't give me a time frame of when my account will be sorted. Has anyone else experienced this? Racheal

I received three government vouchers for the £400 Energy Support Scheme as follows:. loaded £75 on 29/12/200, £58 on 29/12/2022 and £67 on 14/01/2023.I have called SSE/Ovo (I was transferred to Ovo, I didn’t ask for it) several times and they are  always giving me the run around.Today, after they dropped the call on me four times, they finally inform me that they can’t do anything about it as the scheme had expired and that I should channel all my inquiries to a government department they have refused to name.I need advice on how to proceed.

I have sign in details for Ovo Forum but when I try to sign in to Ovo account, it says wrong details so my question is do I need 2 sets of sign in details?  thanks.

Ovo claim that my smart meter has not been sending readings. Funny that because every day since the first of July I have seen the message receiving data 'no need for you to do anything.'Anyone else had this problem and without wasting my time any suggestions on what I am supposed to do?I have manually calculated ths power move figure for July and it is around 6.5% for the month. Seems we have been wasting our time.

Hi has anyone had trouble after a smart meter was fitted with their charger ? I have as the meter was fitted correctly but a clamp that must be in place for the charger to work was omitted. Ovo refused to come out and help in spite of many requests and denied anything was wrong. Most irritating. Now fixes BT replacing clamp

I’m having problems with my EV charger. The manufacturer couldn’t help and it was referred to OVO to send an engineer but I’ve not heard from OVO about a visit. Getting through to OVO EV support is a nightmare, holding on for ages and then getting cut off and having to start again repeatedly. While writing this, their holding ‘music’ is playing the background in a loop for the umpteenth time! I just want to know if and when an engineer is calling. Anyone have any advice, please?

Car is 2022 X1 30e hybrid which is on the anytime list.I have a pod point solo home charger. The car is set to immediate charge when plugged inThe OVO anytime app is set for car to be charged by 8am Frequently when the car is plugged in the pod point clicks to a red light indicating a fault.Also,Automatically, The car sets itself from immediate charge to a random planned departure date and planned charge period. The car does not charge. Is this a compatibility or hardware issue?
