Wrong name on cheque refund - what can we do?

I have recently moved and my daughter is now paying for OVO energy at my old address.

I was told I was due a cheque for a refund.

I received a cheque this morning, but it is in my daughter’s name, not mine.

How do I solve this?

If getting the named person on the cheque to cash it isn’t an option, you can contact our Support Team to request they cancel the cheque and send another in the correct name.

I’m a forum volunteer rather than an OVO staffer.

What might be easiest, could be to have your daughter pay in that cheque and then give you the money.

Alternatively, OVO’s Live Chat is open until 2PM today: https://help.ovoenergy.com if you want to get the cheque replaced.

 

 

Hi @bjw0953 , just to prevent any possible future confusion, it might be worth checking that the refund is taken from your old account rather than your daughter’s new - she should be able to check on her account page online

Thanks for that, I think I will get my daughter to pay it in and then she can transfer it to me.
