Hello, Are there regional / location / DD Aligned PAYG OVO 1/7/23 unit rates published yet? (Only generic Ofgem National rates speculation, observed)Unit rates and standing charges can vary greatly.   

Having received very useful advice on here previously in relation to this issue I just wondered if anyone can advise on the best electricity suppliers to install a new meter to separate out communal streetlights from apartment communal supply. With free meter installation and reasonable standing charge and usage costs.  National Grid have advised that the existing landlord supply has three available cables so an entirely new supply won't be necessary. We will be able to leave the current landlord meter for streetlights serving all 17 properties on the estate. With the new meter set up for the six apartment communal costs only. Both estate and apartment companies are going to be separate freehold companies for the estate and apartments respectively and due to disagreements on apportionment for the apartments we are keen to get the meter installed ASAP. Thanks in advance for your help and advice. 

Hi All,I’m interested in having a 3-phase smart meter installed. I’ve read current status with installs but had two questions re tariff and billing for when the time comes if you can help? If I’m on a competitive fixed tariff at the moment that’s due to end later this year, will having a new meter installed mean I’m moved onto a new tariff? I expect not but never done this before.    I have 3-phase supplied to my house but I actually only use a single phase at 100A. Does the way metering works mean I won’t see a change in energy consumption and cost because the smart meter effectively adds the use across the 3 phases? Ie 3000 kWh on one phase, but 0 kWh on the other two = billed for 3000kwh? Plus a single standing charge as it’s one meter? I have a 3-phase “heritage” meter at presentIm eager to have one fitted in order to access smart tariffs in future for EV charging. Rationale for having 3-phase smart meter fitted was to future-proof in the event I do utilise the other phases.Thank y

Has anyone managed to get an iD3 ver 3:0 to charge on a non smart meter. My car doesn't want to do the handshake to start the charge at anytime. If you have how did you set it up?

I am looking to purchase an Audi Q8 etron and have an OVO account what do I need to do to get EV connected and have the charge anytime tariffs available.The questions I have are:1. I understand I need a smart meter can anybody tell what is the size of the electric smart meter as I only have a limited space in the hall box. Once ordered how long does it take to get a smart meter installed?2. Audi offer a pod point charger can I use this with OVO or do I need to worry? Does anybody know if the Q8 etron is a compatible EV or do I need an Ohme or Indra type charger instead of pod point? What are the pro's and cons?3. Is there any advice for getting an EV charger setup that you know now and wish you knew before that you could share😉

I don't know what to think. My second most expensive appliance according to the app's graph is "heating". Well, my 2 radiators have been switched off, as in literally switched off from the wall switch for the last 2 months, so how is it still showing that they're being used?Are we being charged wrongly or is it that the appliance breakdown is bogus??This is this week and last. It says last week we used over 4 quid in heating but it was 100% off! Disconnected!! How can that be then??It also says the heating readings are calculated based upon the gas we use but we don't have any gas supply at home and the app profile has that info.Is this appliance breakdown just a gimmick?Thanks

I recently decided to switch frm OVO to Octopus.  After seeing their online account system (app) I decided that te OVO system was much clearer and concise and decided to cancel the switch.  I informed both parties.  Now I can’t get any sense from either of them - Octopus told me to inform OVO - OVO say they can’t do anything their end!  So I’m in Limbo.  Any advice to get this sorted would be very gratefully received.  I am still within the cooling off period. Hello,I have just been trying to top up my Smart Meter on the computer in my local Library.  When it got to check out it froze for ages so I logged out tried another computer.  Same thing.  I tried on the app and it went through and tried the same website on my phone and it went through.  I thought it might have been their computer or WiFi but I used their WiFi on my phone.  Can I ask it wasn't a problem with the computer, website or WiFi so I was wondering if OVO blocked me making a payment because I was using a public computer?  This was my first time topping up on a public computer.

Do you actually get any credit you have back in a timely and stress free manner (I know legally they all have to but I doubt ovo care about the laws of the land). Who did you move to?I can’t take any risks, my credit balance is huge. 12 months ago I was happy to be building up such a large credit. I have never seen a company lose the plot so fast in my life. They will either lose their license or go bust. I will simply drain my credit to sub £100 over winter and then run away but would rather run now knowing my credit will be safely returned in weeks and not months or god for bid never. CheersP.

So I have just moved to ovo to make use of your charge anytime tariff. I choose the charge any time add on and go through the steps of identifying my VW id4 (version 3.2 software) and then the ovo website tells me my car isn’t compatible even though it is on the list of compatible cars?!  Any thoughts

Hi OVO community 👋 When I joined OVO I did not have any credit history for experian to pull a credit score on. This meant that I was asked to provide a £530 security deposit.I then found out that the only way for me to see that money again was to close my account and find another supplier. I did this with my final bill sent 19th of December and paid for.Over 5 months later, I have not received any information from their team about the status or timeline to expect the deposit to be returned. I have called many times throughout the months to parse out information from the customer support team but most of them are not familiar with returnig security deposits. They did mention that after the account is closed it goes to a payments team to review if there are any charges outstanding. It's important to stress that my account was with OVO for only 14 months and every bill was paid on time through direct debit. I must say how disapointed I am with this company. I’ve just moved into property with a smart meter. The landlord put credit on the meter while I decorated all the rooms in the flat, this was throughout January and February this year. I officially took over the tenancy in March of this year. The gas credit was fine but I was down to £3.80 or so just before the weekend for electric. This is when the problem started. I tried to contact Boost since the 2nd June. Webchat didn’t respond after waiting 2 hours, telephone call wasn’t much better. I’ve tied every day watching my credit run down. I finally manged to speak to someone today ,a woman in South Africa  who was helpfull but I’m now in a similar position. This time the gas is on emergency and I just cannot top up either on line or at a Paypoint shop. What really disappoints me is  the credit that was on the gas is now zero.  All credit has been wiped , so my £51.54 gas credit is gone. The woman quoted me 2 very long numbers , I did ask

Daily usage says “No gas data available”. Monthly usage shows values for each day.  Just starting to analyse gas usage again, against Hive schedule and temperature monitoring before having more energy efficiency work done.

I downloaded my Ovo bills for the past twelve months at intervals (not always in the current month).  Now, checking them all, I notice that ‘opening balance’ from a particular month often does not match ‘closing balance’ from the previous month. This occurs in six months out of the twelve. The opening credit balance is sometimes above and sometimes below the previous closing balance, by anything from couple of pounds to about £60.I have therefore downloaded all twelve bills again from “Billing History” and six of the bills are completely different from those downloaded earlier. The sequence now shows one month’s closing balance and next month’s opening balance perfectly matching each other.The fuel costs and total charges on each bill under the heading “Summary of charges” are also discrepant between the earlier downloaded bills and those currently on the systemHow can it happen that the bills stored in “Billing History” -- supposedly an archive of the customer’s documents that s/he ca

Is OVO allowed to install nonsmart 3 phase meters?

Got a threatening letter from OVO, today 11th May… dated 3rd May, for £0.00, on a bill that wasn't even produced until until 19th April and was paid within 5 minutes.They don't bill me properly for months, despite me begging for an up-to-date bill – now they are threatening me for owing nothing.Is it just my account that in jinxed, or is this the normal state of affairs?   

My electricity meter doesn't seem to be working properly, it just says "initialised" and nothing else.  My smart meter is sending out my gas readings but not my electricity ones.  I have tried to request a new smart meter, but it says that I am ineligible for one at the moment.  Any help much appreciated 

I was supposed to get my boiler serviced last Friday at 8.30am but they didn't arrive. Allegedly an issue with a gas leak on another job. It is supposed to be now be done tomorrow (Wednesday) but I have no time and they don't seem to want to talk to me.Anyone else had any issues with the free service? 

Are any other FIT account holders not receiving the email request to submit their quarterly FIT readings?  I realise that I’d missed one in May, and so I (eventually) spoke to someone on the HelpDesk who checked my account and confirmed that they had the correct email address (I had previously received FIT reading requests via email), and that I should receive the next one that was due on 12th August.  I’ve not received this (have checked spam filters) and cannot get through to the FIT Help Desk at the moment (60 minute wait time!!)

I’ve just looked at my electricity smart meter reading on the actual meter and on the IHD and although they are the same (34350) they are both different to the smart reading given on my OVO account (33384).I’m wondering where the extra 966 kWh have gone! When I had the smart meter installed I was on a dual rate tariff which was then changed to a single rate via the smart meter. Is that where the difference has come from?

We’re in the process of switching to OVO. We tried a month ago but it failed, so I was told to just create a new quote etc. The switch is supposed to happen on 20 June, so fingers crossed!Anyway as a result I’ve got two account numbers - one “dead” one from the failed switch, and one (hopefully) live one associated with my home address - and both are associated with my email address. Is it possible to get rid of the “dead” one?The other question is whether we can associate a second email address (my wife’s) with the account. Unbelievably, our current electric supplier refused to allow my wife to read our meter etc because our account was just in my name, so this is not a daft question :-)Thanks for any comments!

Hi All, We recently switched to Ovo to make use of Charge Anytime and have a couple of questions; -I drive a model 3 and have noticed since I started using the Charge Anytime App there has been considerably more battery drain on the car when not in use. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way to reduce frequency frequency of updates between the app and the car to minimise battery drain but still utilise Charge Anytime? -second question is we have now added a second EV to the household. How can we set up Charge Anytime for both cars? FYI we only charge at home using a 3 pin plug as due to minimal mileage and charging available at work. Any guidance on these questions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,JIMMY

Thinking of leaving OVO because I can only access one of my two accounts.I submitted readings for one account, but on the menu drop-down, there is no facility showing  access to my accounts. There always used to be a link on the page where I submit my readings for my first account, for me to choose my second,  but not anymore. Why not?? It worked fine and it took less than five minutes to submit both accounts’ readings.Today I’ve spent almost an hour trying to get to my other account, without success.p, which is why I’m thinking of leaving OVO….and who could blame me?

We're in a quandary, so any advice appreciated. Our development Landlord set up one supply both for six apartments (communal supply) and to cover outside lighting for all 17 properties (11 houses plus six apartments). Our management deeds confirmed an apportionment of 10% for apartments. The householders asked to have it reviewed and the independent review confirmed 8%. Suddenly 13 years later without our knowledge or permission (consumer unit access is in the apartment communal garden, and they only had permission to read the meter) the self managed management company for the estate ( whom apartment owners are also members of) put in a pulse meter and then demanded that the apartments  pay 50% of the bill as that's what their meter says! We are in the process of setting up a freehold company for the apartments so in that sense and in view of this and other disputes with the management company we would very much like to completely separate the supplies for estate lighting and apartment
