My daughter in law has had her storage heaters removed and replaced with gas central heating. The economy 7 tariff has been disabled by her supplier, is it possible to have the supply switched on permanently to the storage heater dis board so that some of these circuits can be used.The dis board is fed from a Secure Liberty 100 smart meter via a Proteus 100A Heating contactor.

I have A Daikon Altherma 10kw ASHP and 11 Dimplex Smart rads for emitters. I would like some advice on best temp setting for flow. I think this called LWT? Not sure what this really means. Also DHW reheat temp? And What is weather dependant setting for. Sorry if these are stupid questions.

Last year OVO replaced my two meters with a new single meter - Aclara SGM1415-B - and, so far so good, everything seems to work fine.I would like to replace my existing storage heaters with new and hopefully more efficient ones - the old ones are over 30 years old so there must have been some improvement since then, also they’re getting very tatty and I’m getting earache about their appearance…Anyway, I’ve been looking at the Dimplex Quantum HHR range but noticed that they need a 24 hour supply.My present setup is two fuse boards, one for the economy 7 and a second one for everything else.Am I going to need to get these rewired or even replaced? thanks guys

HelloI’m new to ASHP having only had the system fitted in June of this year and only started using it in September. I read previously that the Ecodan 13Kw system should run at around 300% efficiency i.e. consume 1 unit of electrical energy and deliver 3 units of heat energy.The installer didn’t provide any advice on how to use the system on completion just said that its all set up to go. My problem is that in November for example the DHW has consumed 59kWh and delivered 93kWh of energy whilst the heating system consumed 410 kWh and delivered 303 kWh. By my reckoning this is a negative COP on the heating side.The system is set to auto adapt with the weather compensation curve in the background. The system is set at 16C and scheduled to kick in during the period 05.00 to 10.00 and again at 17.00 to 20.00 just to provide heat whilst the log burners kick in. I’ve noticed that on occasions the electric heater icon is showing on the controller screen.Is

Newbie question:  want to use Charge Anytime.  Planning to buy Indra Smart Pro charger, since this is on OVO list for suitable chargers.  Need to connect to Internet via an ethernet cable, as mobile signal where car is stabled is poor.  The ethernet cable comes back to my domestic router.  Is this route to connect charger to OVO’s Charge Anytime OK?  I ask because other chargers, e.g. Ohme Home Pro,  seem to connect via multinet SIM in charger, rather than being hardwired.Advice appreciated.      Keith

Since the installation of solar panels my electricity usage has gone up 12 fold. During that time, if all is working correctly, I have also used the 700 KWs generated by my solar panels which means my actual usage has gone up far more than 12 fold. Is it possible that the energy generated by my solar panels is adding to my meter readings, in othervwords benefitting the electric company rather than me? Might they have been wired incorrectly? 

I’ve a serious issue with the EV charger (OHME) installed by Ovo in June.  It’s tripped out three times recently, and when I stood and watched it do it last night (after a few moments charging), there was a very significant smell of electrical burning from the mini fuse box it's attached to.  Clearly a potential fire risk.  I’ve tripped out the box again, but obviously it’s still physically connected.I initially speak with Ohme as recommended on the Ovo Charge anytime site.  They back-heel it saying originally they can’t find my installation details (ovo mustn’t have sent them to Ohme).  I provide them and the pictures requested.  Ohme then back-heel it a second time saying that it’s actually the job of the installer (Ovo) to come out.I speak to Ovo charger team who try to back-heel it saying it’s a Omhe issue.(i.e both companies passing the buck)To me it’s clearly an Ovo issue as they provided the equipment AND installed it and until it’s look

Hi,I’m in the process of purchasing an EV. Before the charger install I’ve been advised to have the meter tails uprated and  an isolator switch fitted before my electrician fits a new consumer unit and installs the charger.I have been charged £264.25 for OVO to carry out the work in the meter cupboard. Thinking this seemed a bit much I did some research and came across this price list by OVO. DP isolator says £158.25 but has no mention of the meter tails. I called my DNO and they said the tails are normally updated during any work carried out by the supplier like a new meter. My smart meter was installed last year and the old tails were left in place. So my question is, why have I been charged £264 for an isolator normally costing £158 and the DNO says meter tails are normally updated during

Hi all, new member.  I’ve recently had an ECODAN ASHP installed (in the last couple of weeks) and from a heating point of view we are really happy with what it’s producing, we’re trying to use the curve after reading that this is the best way to run them. My question is how do you reduce the temperature at night so it’s not just reading the outside temperature and increasing the flow temperature whilst we’re all warm under a blanket?  I’d heard people talk about “set back” modes but cannot find this in any manual for the ECODAN. I’ve resorted to putting the timer on so it turns off from 10pm to 6am but then it has to work really hard to get back up to temp.  Any advice welcome.  Thanks 

Hi,on Ecodan I changed from weather compensation curve heating to auto adaptive “room temperature” heating (which uses build-in temperature sensor in my main unit). Room temperature was 22 degrees, outside 7 degrees. After 30 minutes I noticed that electric heater icon was ON (which never happened in weather compensation heating). Any suggestions why in auto adaptive heating, electric heater is used? 

We have a mitsubishi ecodan heat pump and use the melcloud app to control it. At 05.30 this morning the pumps started and the melcloud showed "antifreeze".  The frost protection is turned off,  internal temperature was 18c, outside was 5c. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or how can I prevent this happening? I would also be grateful for any advice on the correct settings for the compensation curve.  Thanks in advance. 

HI, Recently moved into a flat with storage heaters which are not turning at all. Regardless of what time of day they do not turn on at all. They have switches on its side to turn it on with a light indicating whether its on.  From my limited knowledge they meant to operate during off peak electricity but this still hasn't worked.  They only work if I manually go onto my meter and start a boost and this then turns it on. I've contacted my supplier who said the meter setup seems to be correct so cannot do anything else.  Any help would be appreciated! I've attached the heaters and themeter setup

Anyone with a similar problem as mine?My local authority building regulations dictate where the central heating thermostat is sited. In my property it is in my entrance hall which is about 1/4 the size of my lounge. Subsequently the hallway heats up very quickly and switches off while my lounge is still freezing! In order to counter this I have to crank the thermostat up to sauna temperatures in order to warm up the lounge, either that or leave the front door open.Regulations prevent me fitting flow controls on the hall radiator which would fix the problem.Anyone got a solution?

Ive just gone onto the OVO drive tariff and want the Anytime Plan But I already have a Pod Point charger at home. Will the Anytime work with Podpoint or will I need to change the charger? I have a SMET2 smart meter.  

I live in a fairly remote Scottish locality and am currently on THTC powering storage heaters and hot water. Looking at my most recent bill, I have paid noticeably more than if I had simply been on a single meter with everything running on a standard tariff instead of THTC.To me this begs the question - what is the point of THTC if I am actually paying more?Also, I assume SSE are obliged to replace the meter with a standard one if I request them to do so (I realise this may take some months)?

Hi, I am hoping to pick up my first EV this weekend and have a few questions. I've spent hours researching but still have a few questions! The car is a VW e-Golf which is not compatible with OVO charge anytime so will have to get a compatible charger.Ohme pro was my first choice as it's compatible with OVO and IO and also it's seems very popular. But unfortunately I don't like the look of it especially the cable bracket and holster. So I am now looking at the Indra smart Pro - Is the app compatible with OVO or do I have to use the Indra web app? I am aware of how Charge anytime works as it uses the greenist time to charge the car. Are there any restrictions on how quick it can charge? For example, I come home with 20% battery and I need it to be 80% within 4 hours. Will it charge to 80% within this very short time? And lastly, with the VW I believe there is an option to preheat the car before driving off, do

I bought a house in Perthshire a few years ago with THTC installed so have 2 meters. I now have an electric vehicle, but it would appear that I can’t get the low charging rate advertised (and sent by email to me) by OVO to allow overnight charging. At the moment, I have to pay standard rate to charge my car when it would be cheaper to find an on street charger (not easily found in my area). Surely that is not right?

Long story …. short(ish) version >>> My Economy 7 electricity meter completely failed on 16th October and since then I have had no midnight switch to heat my hot water cylinder and storage heaters. Not great when you are 65 years old and been extremely unwell with flu during this period. Ovo Energy initially offered a smart meter replacement on 17th November. Totally unacceptable given that I have no hot water or heating. After repeated pressure, they finally agreed to treat this as an emergency. Monday 30th October …. smart meter installed by MDS …. Aclara smart meter serial number 21M0364172 …. Aclara smart meter model SGM1416-B (SMETS2) for dual rate day peak and night off-peak (Economy 7) Tuesday 31st October …. smart meter supposedly commissioned and configured correctly by MDS …. but quite evidently not! Wednesday 1st November …. SMS engineer visited and tested the smart

Does any one have any experience/ or anecdotes regarding reverse flow switching? particularly interested in experiences with 3 phase systems as well!Non smart meter v smart meter all of interest.

Hi all,  Had a new ASHP installed mid October 23, we had to put the pump on opposite side of the property to the cylinder thus running the pipes the width of the house under the first floor floorboards.  It seems loud…..pipes knocking when ramping up and a fairly constant “flow” noise.   Wondering I’d the community has similar issues with the internal workings being loud? thanks 

To install the smart meter, I had normal power consumption. After installing this, the counter suddenly increased. I wasn't able to determine how much electricity consumption had increased. But from April 15 to September 25, 2023, I was not in the apartment. I turned off everything. even the electricity consumption indicator which supposedly consumes 1kWh of electricity per year. I also turned off all the sockets. I also unplugged the refrigerator and washing machine. Unfortunately, after receiving the bills, I saw in black and white that I used over 111 kWh per month when I was not at home. Nobody has a key to my apartment. How is it possible?

I am new to OVO having been migrated from my previous supplier. I have found the OVO forum useful already, but does not solve my problem. My meter did have a T2 antenna fitted and was lighting up all the indicators except HAN. (We have no gas)Which I have discovered on this forum means that the meter was not commissioned. Subsequently a technician  changed it back to one without an external antenna. Which of course does not work and SW lights up and the WAN lights every one second. Any ideas. 

I picked up a new Subaru SolTerra yesterday.I altered the car on the Kalzo app, altered car on My OVO anytime.I plugged in last night, no charge this morning, all timings remained the same as old car. Kalzo recognised car, still saying waiting for suitable time but time set 7.0am has passes. No juice at all put in.  Please can anyone suggest anything as today is Sunday, dealer closed. Thank you.

Good evening, we’re generally very happy with our PV and battery system, but a couple of months ago, the system started misfunctioning.  Although the batteries are full, a percentage of the load is constantly being drawn from the grid, while a portion trickles from the batteries.  This is irrespective of the load, I.e. when we’re cooking or when we’re sleeping, some draws from the grid and some from the battery.  Obviously this is incurring costs that we needn’t have.  The battery supplier Foxess says that it could be a CT clamp problem.  Does anyone else have a suggestion or confirmation?  The system is  2 years old and was installed by a National company who are now in liquidation!

Any ideas which is the most economical option to have the DHW on reheat or to schedule it?
