Hi, 5 days ago my IHD began showing lost connection. It had been working perfectly since install in September. I’ve read on this forum that it could be to do with no mobile reception but we have that and can tell by the WAN red light flashing frequently on the elec meter. (Plus it worked perfectly before). Does the IHD need repairing with the smart meter? Thanks Will

Hi guys,I was wondering if anyone could shed light with my issue. It just started today and only had it installed June 8th. As I was plugging my car to charge instead of your usual indicator, it started flashing purple indicator 5 times. As well as in the web app it is not recognising the device. Please help.

Hi All,Had a look through the forum and couldn't quite see a thtc query that covered my questions.Obviously I need to move to a smart meter but an OVO engineer came out but then said they couldn't change the meter because I had a thtc setup (even though this was why OVO sent him) he said he'd let them know and they'll be in touch to sort. I haven't had anything other than another email saying they'll be in the area and I need to book an appointment to change the meter.I haven't had any other info on what the plan is but surmise itll be E7 or E10, I even had to go to the ombudsman last year and ended up with a significant amount of compensation and confirmation they couldn't make the change as they had no way to decommision the second mpan and I'd still be charged or my system may not work (maybe this has changed now but that was less than 6 months ago).Anyway, my main question is about hot water as I no longer have the bigger storage heaters, I do have small ones that I can turn on as

I notice the App has stopped updating my daily usage.  Does this mean that my smart meter has stopped sending data to OVO ?  IHD still works OK

I have done some reading on here and followed advice from other posters but I wanted to check to see if I have things setup right. Goals Be economical, not wasteful Keep temperature in the house at 22-23 degrees C Have hot water in the morning for showers and in the evening for bath for children Heating Setup I have it set to Compensation Curve, at 14 degrees external or below the temp is at 46 degrees for the rads (at least that’s how I understand it works) Thermostats are Heatmister Slimline, they are set at 23 degrees to knock off the rads if it gets too warm This setting is 24/7, I read that its better to keep the house at the same temp all the time. Plus we work from home all the time so don’t want it cooling during the day. Hot Water Setup I had it to warm the 200L tank up to 50 degrees between 2am and 4am, and to come on once the temp dropped 10 degrees but only during this time. I noticed that this was perfect for morning showers - temp had dropped to 47 degrees by 8am w

Hello! I own a Mitsubishi Ecodan / Zubadan ASHP 14kW with a gas boiler attached as backup heat source. It can help in colder periods but it should also switch based on energy price.Mitsubishi also released this document https://hoctorrefrigeration.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/ECODAN-Hybrid-Boiler-Application.pdf Which states that it can be achieved but it is not technical. The HP has an Intelligent operation mode where it can select Cost based between electricity and gas based on the price/kW of each energy. I expect as example that at a certain outside temperature,COP=3 and 3kW heating are produced from 1kW electricity1kW electricity costs 0.6. But it produces 3kW heat with a cost of 0.2 /kWheat 1kW produced with gas costs 0.2 => it pdocudes 1kW heat with a cost of 0.2=> it should stay as soon as the outside temperature drops and COP drops => it should switch to gas boiler.Settings:Service menu / Operation settings / Boiler Operation / Hybrid settings/Priority Mode: Cost Se

The garage where our cars are parked is about 4 metres from the house and Distribution Board. There is a standard 13 amp socket in the garage on a spur from the house. The garage is hardly larger than the cars, a golf estate and a polo.  The estate has to go nose in, the polo tail in, so as to be able to exit the cars in the small space between ever-widening car dimensions. We have solar panels on the house, which feed surplus into the grid, and an economy 7 tariff. Is it possible to fit one - and in future 2 - chargers in the garage? How much space is required around the cars to be able to connect to them - or is that a “how long is a piece of string?” question that depends on the specific model? Does the system allow for daytime charging using surplus from the panels, but otherwise only the night-time electricity?

Hi How long do it take for Charge Anytime credits to show up on your account ?

Can I get a smart meter for my 3 phase home supply and benefit from the overnight EV tariff. It seems like none of the electrical supply companies can offer me or even explain the benefits of having a smart meter connected to a domestic 3 phase supply.I have two electric vehicles so this would make sense. At the moment I have a standard Economy 7  meter connected to a 3 phase supply and I am charged on a split tariff where my overnight electricity is nowhere near 7p per kwh.

The last step on the OVO charge anytime app tells me to enable the ‘find my car’ functionality for vehicle location. I have been searching for this in the car as far as I can see location is on but there isn’t anything specifically that says ‘find my car’. Can anyone help?

I had an electrician round this afternoon to discuss fitting a EV charge point and he said that we need an upgraded fuse cut out, the house was built in the 1930s and it's probably the original fuse cut out (the fuse element is just a piece of copper wire!).I need this upgrading to something safer and with at least an 80A fuse. The electrician was also asking what earthing facility is at the property and how the earth is provided in the street.  There doesn’t seem to be a DB earth terminal.Who do I contact?  (I live in Staffordshire, distribution ID 14) Many thanksSteve

Hi, I’ve just joined OVO and I’m unable to link my Volvo 2024 Recharge to OVO Charge Anytime. I’ve tried several times but the Volvo app just says sorry, your accounts can’t be paired at the moment. I have the Pod Point which isn’t recognised so the smart charging will be via the Volvo app. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, D

Hi I'm with OVO energy for electric and eon for gas. I got told to get smart meters you have to be with same company for both. I don't know why this would need to be.

can you connect a 2nd charger to charge anytime and use them both at the same time?

I have had Charge Anytime for a few weeks now, and other than an issue with Ovo displaying incorrect monthly £/kWh totals, it has been working great, until now!Plugged in yesterday evening around 6pm, unplugged this morning to find it had not charged at all. Looking in the Ohme app it shows it was plugged in for the duration, but zero charging took place - which has caused a bit of an issue travelling today 😠The schedule on the Ohme is set to smart charge to 100% by 7am, and has worked perfectly until now. Why did it not charge? Did Kaluza determine that there was no ‘green’ time to do it, so just did nothing? This is very concerning and raises serious questions about the smart charging concept going forward.

I turned on Urgent mode yesterday, just to test.I now cannot get the app to turn it off again. I have followed the FAQ guidance which says to unplug the charger for at least 30 minutes. It has been unplugged for a good deal longer, and still is not resetting. Why does the app not have a button to turn off Urgent mode? Please can you advise how I can get the app to switch back to the Schedule? UPDATE: Wouldn’t you know it, I just checked the app now and Urgent mode has turned off.HOWEVER: There really REALLY needs to be a button to turn it off. I realise this is probably a problem with Kaluza, but needs to happen.

What do people find is the most effective hysteresis setting (for heating) for their ASHPs during a prolonged cold spell like we’re having currently (UK)? I have a Grant ASHP (radiators) and it’s currently 0.2 but I’m thinking I could remove it completely whilst so cold. Interested to hear what others do.Thanks in advance.A

Hello,Just home with a newly purchased Hyundai IONIQ 5, have set up with the Ovo account etc but don’t seem to be able to find the Urgent charge button which would be handy should it be needed. Many thanks if anyone can help,Susie

I have an old smart meter, I have had no gas to any appliances since Friday evening and the meter is displaying open valve fail. It sounds like a battery fail. How can i get an emergency repair? Can't get through to OVO helpline until Monday??

Hi all.I have an Audi Q8 etron and an Ohme Smart Pro charger which is compatible with OVO Charge Anytime. Can anyone tell me how I charge a second EV? Can I just plug in the charger, or do I need to change the vehicle on the Ohme app every time? Thanks.

Hello, would OVO be able to repair a  Baxi back boiler ? I want to get cover for it but trying to find out if my baxi Bermuda bbu15he will be covered with parts etc . Thank you

My home is in an area where smart meters do not communicate with the WAN. All the EV tariffs I can find state you must have a smart meter to be able to get the tariff. However, my husband read somewhere that it is possible to use an OVO compatible smart charger to access OVO Charge Anytime because the charger can send charging data directly to the owner's OVO online account. Can anyone confirm this is true? We really need to access an EV Tariff without having a working smart meter.

Hi there, I appreciate this has probably been asked and answered many times, but I've just topped up my Ovo card, inserted into my meter and the gas valve hasn't opened. There's £58 on the meter, the meter says ON B3, but I've got no supply. This hasn't happened before, it usually opens after a few seconds. I was directed by the Chat Bot to call 0800 111999 and they hung up on me. I'm working a late shift tomorrow and I'm not going to be able to get anything done now until after Christmas.  It's quite an old meter. I've attached a photo of it. Is there a procedure to get the gas valve to open? Thanks.  Chris

My smart meter appears to have stopped sending data/readings to Octopus as of 10 days ago.  It was installed 5 years ago and always worked fine.  The WAN light still flashes every 5 seconds so I cannot understand why it isn’t communicating. Octopus have suggested an engineer attend to conduct a “power cycle” but this won’t be for another month. Can anyone explain why this would not be communicating data and if there is anything I can do about it?  And if there is anyway to ensure meter readings data is captured to prevent me being charged a flat rate instead of the Octopus smart rate (I’m on Intelligent Go).  Thank you

I am trying to set up charge anytime , I get to the end where you confirm and I receive an error message stating they couldn’t connect my ev charger, my charger is online any ideas where I’m going wrong ?
