My gas meter is just outside my home but the electricity meter is in a communal building about 20 metres away. I understand that a Smart Meter works by radio, so would it work on my installation?

Hi all,We’ve got an Indra Smart Pro charger which has charged almost everything we’ve connected at Charge Anytime rates - with the one exception of a friend’s Ford Capri, which obstinately went to sleep and didn’t wake up to charge when prompted.We’re probably going to add a Peugeot e208 to our lives shortly. Anyone else got this combination - and does it work OK? 

My Dimplex Quantum ‘G’ Series storage heaters are no longer being charged since the new smart meter was installed. Current is getting to both control and charge circuits during the off-peak periods, but the cores are not being charged. They were regularly charged automatically without a hitch during the now deceased THTC’s RTS. Any enlightenment?

I have just moved in to an all electric flat in Perthshire, and inherited an Ampy dual rate meter with 4 cables and one dummy port. I believe this means that there was an inbuilt timer for switching between high and low rates.However… I decided to switch to Octopus and have a smart meter installed. After installation, my smart display began giving me times for high and low rates; for example, low… 14:30 to 17:30. So, I now wish to ask 3 things!1   Is it possible to find the timings for a full days cycle without sitting up all night?2   Will my Dimpex Duoheat units turn on automatically on the low power cycles?3   When I called Octopus, an agent gave me rates and times that are different to what is being displayed locally; timed from midnight to 07:30. I appreciate that this is an OVO forum, but members might have encountered a similar discrepancy when switching, and any advice will be received with much gratitude.

We have solar panels installed and our electricity meter is running backwards and are unable to have a smart meter installed as there is no mobile signal. we have contacted Ovo a twice to report that our meter is running backwards but haven’t been able to get a clear response from them. It’s clear that we need an export meter fitted. But how will this work practically? Will our Ovo account give us the ability to input the reading from our export meter? Who can we get to install one? Thanks

Solarman app on iphone not providing daily solar production. I did reinstalled the logger on my 8kw Megarevo with no success. Any suggestion please?? 

I have no hot water.  DHW is switched to pause automatically and tank water temperature stays at 14 degrees celcius.  Heating is running fine.  I tried to maual reset but didn’t help.  DHW is also paused automatically and everytime it pauses, “LJ” is flashing at the top left of the control screen.  I have no idea what “LJ” stands for, couldn’t find a clue from the Mitsubishi error code.  Please help.  Thanks

Hi I bought my Ohme charger in Dec. Just 6 months ago. It was supplied and installed by Ovo. When bought it was compatible with Charge Anytime.  I have 2 Questions.  1. I bought the Ohme in good faith from Ovo as it was compatible with Charge Anytime.  Will Ovo be providing me with a new compatible charger free of charge? 2. If no to above and I am forced to seek an alternative provider will Ovo wave the £95 early exit fee from my tariff?

I've written a number of blogs on here about the ideas behind using tech but the one thing I have come to realise is that every setup is unique, not necessarily from the tech you use but how it works for you with your particular lifestyle. It not limited to OVO customers because lifestyles need a tariff that suits your use. What I'm trying to achieve is to get people to relate to actually living with tech to show how it works for your benefit. Perhaps even include decisions you made that you don't feel were beneficial. This is also for OVO staff to see why people make decisions on tariffs with a view to maybe broadening the range of tariffs or compatibility on offer. Hi I have a UK government workplace voucher. Does ovo accept this as part payment for installation of home ev charger?

Ever hour on the hour, the RTS meter here makes a very loud clunking noise you can hear throughout the entire house, has done so for like a decade ever since we moved in.Asked everyone over the years, no one knows if its normal or not.Anyone here know if it is normal, and what it is doing every hour ? 

I have an Indra pro and solar power system with battery. I don’t want the car charger to draw from the house battery as this will reduce its lifespan. I manage this by setting a period in the inverter (eg 1030pm - 330am) as a window for charging the car.this means I need to specify a time for the charger to start. This used to be simple - set a schedule on the car and plug it in when I liked. since the new app has rolled out it seems this is impossible as I can’t set a start time. Is this the case?

Hi Everyone, just would be interested in the thoughts of those original beta testers of the V2G - I don’t think the charger is eligible for the “charge anytime” tariff and wondering whether there were any other tariffs within OVO people had moved to. The standard variable, which most of us have been stuck on for a while, in my case, more than negates the rebate in terms of a competitive price/KwH. Thoughts? Thanks

I’ve set up Charge Anytime account and put my house on the map during set up. My car is on the drive charging now but app is saying it is not at home (so it charges as soon as I plug in).There are no settings option in the app to adjust things like my location??Anything I can do?

About 18 months ago I booked a one off service through OVO Energy. I don’t have an account with them. The service was completed and paid for, however I never received the certificate which was meant to be sent once payment was received.  I’ve spent the best part of 90 minutes speaking to OVO on the phone, being redirected to multiple people, none of whom seem to know how to help.  The latest I heard is that this service was run by Kantan and that it’s no longer run anymore. I was given a number to call them on, but this number was out of Service.  Does anyone know how I can get hold of this certificate?

Has anyone else been having problems trying to get CA working over the past 2 weeks?I’ve had spells of 2 or 3 days without any CA schedule and very intermittent at other times, with often short intervals at unusual times.The CP is a Hypervolt Home 3 Pro. Tried all the usual tricks of reboots, re-register CP, amending schedule, checking its over greenest periods etc.Up until this period CA has been reasonably stable and predictable.“Urgent Charge” works fine, but obviously attracts the higher price. I’ve had to resort to this most days. So the costs are now starting to mount up.I haven’t been able to get any response from the CA team via their email process, so will try calling next.Hypervolt have investigated and state this is an OVO problem and they are aware of issues OVO have been having with CA.

I have recently signed up for charge anytime for us at home with my Wallbox charger and Mercedes EQC.I have followed the instructions, linked my car etc and set the “ready by” time on a few occasions yet the car has never charged overnight and I'm forced to manually check and start charging early morning.  I cant think what I'm doing wrong - is there anything that I need to do in the Wallbox app? At present when I plug the charger in, the car starts charging immediately which I then manually stop in the wallbox app in the hope it will charge at some point overnight using the the charge anytime app/tariff. Am I supposed to stop the charge like this?  Cant think what im doing wrong - would appreciate any assistance.

HI,Has anyone with a u16 gas meter got a smart meter?  Interested to know if Ovo now install these.  Its a pain *edited by moderator* to remember to do manual readings… Thanks

I got an email from Ovo asking me to take part in a review of the new upcoming app. Concerning they were not interested in customers that had the Ohme or Indra chargers….as Ohme was de-supported recently I wonder if the Indra chargers are next!?

Updated on 05/11/25 by Ben_OVOHi all, Like many customers, I’ve been affected by the OVO-Ohme fallout.  I have the Ohme ePod, recommended and installed by OVO, and a Mercedes-Benz CLA 250e. I've recently deleted my Ohme account and started charging via the Charge Anytime app.  Mercedes only have beta compatibility with the Charge Anytime app but OVO assured me that customer’s are using it without any issues.  My experience so far is concerning. As soon as I connect my car, it charges at full capacity instead of smart charging on and off throughout the night like Ohme did.  However, when it reaches 50% it stops and shows as complete. I go into the Mercedes me app and the vehicle settings have been changed from 100% to 50%. I change this back to 100% and it starts charging again at full capacity until complete.  

Hi I need help I'm been charged 300 / 400 for electric some months I'm single parent in 3 bedroom house and my heatings been off since it warmed up in Feb 2022 .I've nothing turned on hardly in my house just a freezer fridge that run all day I have no heating we sleep down stairs but I'm still getting outrageous bills .A meter reader said whwn I posted a picture of my meter it's been tampered with but my energy company won't listen they said the locks still on it but theirs more wires than b and q 

Hi Everyone,I just need some advice, our oil boiler was causing problems earlier on this year and has since been condemned. The council seem to want to fit us with an Air Source Heat Pump rather than an oil boiler....which I know the reasons for, but I am  not entirely sure whether this is going to be appropriate for the property where we live or for the fact  that my wife has disabilities and respiratory  problems. Our windows are draughty and we have had damp issues in the past. It is a very small bungalow admittedly, but will it be efficient enough in the winter months?  Can anyone advise me please?
