Renault 5 E-Tech not smart charging

I have just taken delivery of an R5. I have been using the OVO Charge App to smart charge my Skoda Elroq with great success. I have added my new R5 to the OVO Charge App using my MyRenault credentials without error. So far everything looks good. I plugged in the R5 to my “dumb” charger and the charge started straight away like it does with the Elroq, however the OVO Charge App never sees the R5 as being plugged in and therefore (I’m guessing) never tries to control the charge. Anyone got any clues as to what is wrong?

My issue is sorted, turned out to be an issue with the Renault back end. I had to sync the car again with the servers. Since I did that I have done two successful Charge Anytime charges. Both worked perfectly

Hi @salerio ,

My sneaking suspicion is that the team might need to dig the logs for this.

Could you give them a call on 0330 175 9678 in the morning please? They’ll take a look for you!

Hey @salerio

Sorry to hear this, though I’m glad to see Blastoise186 has already stopped by with some helpful advice.

I’d definitely recommend getting in touch with the Charge Anytime team about this so they can take a look and try to resolve any issue they can spot. You can also reach the team via webchat or email:

Do let us know how you get on.

I have same issue with Renault 5! Ovo charger says scheduled charge will start at a given time but does not activate! Last night I managed to get it to charge by reconnecting charger plug and pressing the button next to charger socket to inactivate the R5 charging programme! I think the car is blocking the ovo scheduled charge. BTW I have not programmed the car with a charging schedule

Hey @DavidS66

If you’ve not also already been in touch with the Charge Anytime team, it’ll be worth checking in with them directly for the same reasons so that they can take a look on their side at what may be happening.

I suspect there was a general problem with the Renault servers/app as other owners seem to have had some different issues.

@salerio @DavidS66 thanks so much for updating us - I’m happy to hear it’s all working as it should be now - great news 😁.

I must say - I do like the look of those new Renault 5’s - reminiscent of the Lancia Delta I think.

Hi, I have a Renault megane Etech car. I have been charging it with the 3 prong plug since Christmas on the charge anytime pay as you go.
I finally got my hypervolt box fitted and I am struggling.

everything is connected however the app is waiting for the car, and not charging. Does anyone know the best way to use this box/car on OVO?

also my partner has a Mercedes Ev and it charged from my home but despite adding the vehicle to the OVO app it didn’t record it as charged.

Thanks

Thanks for your post @EllaH89 and welcome to the community. I’ve awarded your EV badge.

I’m wondering whether either of these Forum posts may be of help:

I’d recommend speaking to Charge Anytime about both of these issues. Please do let us know when you’ve heard back from them. I’ll ask internally too, and will let you know if I hear back before you do.

Thank you. These are super helpful - I will also call OVO charge anytime as I need to try and connect and understand more with my hypervolt
