Hi everyone, I’m a new OVO customer. I have an E7 meter with night and day readings. My plan confirms my date/night tariff etc. A letter arrived asking me to submit my opening reading but only offered me one box to put my reading into.  I was expecting to submit a night reading and a day reading as I have done many times in the past with previous suppliers. Can any one offer an explanation before I seek an alternative supplier? Many thanksPaul.

Looking for a little bit of advice with this if anyone can help :) My gas meter doesn’t submit meter readings automatically due to the distance from the electricity meter so I have to do these manually. I’ve went to get a reading today and it’s showing ‘Locked 10469883 minutes’ OSM with the number decreasing every minute. I can’t get any data to provide a meter reading Has anyone came across this before?any help is appreciated  thank you

Hi just looking for some advice. I have recently  moved to Ovo.....the previous company not really being very helpful regarding my Smart Meter and not really listening or understanding my issues with their very poor customer  service.... so I hate to admit it, but I have an ongoing complaint with them. So i was contacted by them this week to help try to resolve the issue as I had requested a deadlock letter.  Its funny I had tried to contact them every week for about three to four weeks just to be advised "yes of course we will pass your request on to your case handler, you will hear by email from them in 24 hours," 3 times I was told this and 3 times nothing until of course I request a deadlock letter! Then within 3 days I was contacted and my issues were given some attention  for once!  However the amount I am being charged for,  for the final bill is ridiculous and they don't seem to be backing down from this amount, even though they have admitted not receiving  any data since Septe

I moved to a new flat in July 2022, since then I am trying to get attention of Ovo Enegy to resolve my meter reading problem. Lately they informed me as below:“I can see a recent actual meter read has been added to your account, I have sent you details over to our Credit Extra Care Team to look into and discuss the usage in supporting you going forward.”  I need to know the answer of b/m question, in order to negotiate with them when they will contact me. I am really desperate, what would you advise me? Thank you very much in advance for your kind cooperation. Best Wishes, Gülnur 

I’m currently on a standard variable (like most people) for gas and electricity. How much extra would I pay if I was to cancel my Direct Debit and pay monthly via BACS on receipt of bill?

Will OVO install a smart meter for electricity only, if a dual fuel consumer does not wish to also upgrade their traditional gas meter? And if not, why not? Presumably OVO billing is capable of handling automated meter reading for electricity, and manual meter reading for gas, does anyone know? An advantage of having an electricity meter is to allow dynamic tariffs (e.g. time-of-day) going forwards. But that is not the case for gas, and that part of the solution is fragile or not possible if the distance to the comms hub is too large, along with a question mark of whether the gas meter can fail shut if the battery dies. The call handler I spoke to at OVO would not book this installation on the basis that I am a dual fuel user. Is OVO really refusing to install smart meters on this basis? If so, I would need to raise a complaint with Ofgem, given that OVO customers are already collectively paying for smart meters via their bills. I recently upgraded my parents home to smart meters, they

So I'm just wondering when will we be switched to the variable plan shown on the renewal page? Or as we are capped sitll it makes no difference? The renewal page for me shows a variable plan with higher costs saying I will be moved on to it. In my mind the current gov cap is till 2024 so I should just ignore anything high but also pay attention to fixed plans getting lower? Anyone else thinking the same way or following the renew page to see if it goes down?

Evening!Please can someone help? I just moved home and Ovo just installed a smart meter in my home, but the off peak consumption is not showing up. I have tried pressing all the buttons via available guide in this forum and via YouTube videos, but no luck. I have also contacted British Gas (my provider in the previous property) and they said that if I move to them, they will configure it for me. My friend has the same meter and he is able to see both rates. Please can someone help or someone from OVO exist here?Thanks much in advance.Regards 

Yesterday I used 16.6kwh according to the meter portable display in my house. Which seems right as it was 15.** when I went to bed On the app if you add up the daily half hourly readings it comes to 16.60kwh as well.However on the monthly section on the app it states I used 22.7kwh yesterday.Is there a software fault and will that be corrected before I get billed?Thanks, Paul.

Hi!I still have £4 credit on my meter but I’ve managed to activate my £20 emergency. I know it’s a silly question but when will it start showing that I am using the emergency? My In Home Display unit is GEO and for electric only. Thank you.

Hi, I have been with OVO a couple of years now and had an Aclara SGM1411-B meter installed after joining which sends electricity readings to my IHD and online no problem.  However it has never worked with my gas to send readings automatically, and I think I was told at the time this was due to my gas meter being SMETS1 (Landis+Gyr G370) but it would be possible in future after a remote SMETS2 upgrade.  From reading online, it seems all of the SMETS2 upgrades should have happened by now but no change on mine still.  I have tried doing the upgrade check on the DCC site but it comes back with ‘we can’t find your meter’ (double checked numbers etc).I still send my gas readings manually but would like to get the smart functions for gas enabled if possible, any ideas on how to get this sorted please?My meters are next to each other in house wall boxes outside:  

Hello, I am converting a property into 10 student accommodation flats. A three-phase supply is required and we received an offer for an MSDB board 180KVA. Today I was told by National Grid, that with an MSDB board we will require 10 separate meters in either the rooms or the communal areas. As this will be student accommodation and all bills included, I'd rather have one meter positioned in the existing meter room. National Grid told me that for this, only with a Cut Out will it be possible to have one meter only. Can someone please help me out with this? - What is the difference between a Cut Out and MSDB? - How does the difference between the two impact the number of meters required? 

Hi. I’m getting Solar panels and batteries installed next month. The installers recommend that I get a SMETS2 smart meter. I have a Secure SMETS1 at the moment (and has been updated so I can get half hour readings).  The solar installers say that SMETS1 meters can’t read the outward flow of electricity. Is this correct? Also can I get a free installation of a SMETS2 meter from OVO? I called OVO earlier, waited 20 minutes in a queue, got through, explained the situation and then they hung up on me!! 🤷🏻‍♂️. Any help would be fantastic. Cheers. 

I bought my house 5 years ago.  There seem to be issues with the installation.  First there was no insulation on the external pipework.  Now I’ve been told (by a different company) that the pipes attached to the unit should not be lying on the ground (half buried) but raised and clipped to the wall.  It’s going to cost a bit of money and I’d like to know if this gentleman is correct with his observations.Any comments appreciated.

We have just (today) switched over from another provider and when I entered our electricity meter readings into Ovo. I checked this with old electricty bill and it came to light that the night time electricty reading had not changed since September 2018. As we are not high users of night time energy it was not somthing that had been picked up on. I notified our previous provider as it was the day before we were switching and they promised to call me back and look into this. We have heard nothing. Any suggestions on what to do. There is obviously a problem somewhere with the meter. I was going to do the boil a kettle test during economy 7 hours to see if this is recorded. We do not have storage heater and the economy 7 hours only work for us when I use the washing machine or dishwasher. Also will my economy 7 hours be the same as my previous providers hours. I plugged my car in this morning and it charged straight away , I was surprised as I presumed it would come on late at night to be cheaper ???Can anyone shine a light on it for me 

Historically has updated every 24hrs or so but has not flinched for over one week, does anyone else know if it is poorly and a known problem that is being investigated?Electricity, historically, only updates monthly or so but gas has always been more timely.Thanks to the may weather my gas use has plummeted but my future annual prediction appears to be frozen in time. The cynical side of me might say this is to make me think I should opt for the fixed deal at 8.5p to save even more if I didn’t know the variable rate will be 7.5p come 1st July.I have waited to post this in the hope it might have updated. A great company pre SSE, a shame.  Do they know it is broken and are they fixing it (the gas not the whole company)? PadsterP.S. Not a smart meter issue, I don’t have one.

I switched to OVO , with a B gas smart meter , which wasn’t sending OVO a smart read , so I did it manually, meter reader came , she gave the read .. usage is between £58 -£80 a month !during colder months last week I had an email to say my smart meter is now sending reads every half hour and it was a regional problem.  now my app is saying throughout April & may my electric bill is £900 a month !!!!!!!!! two people in property, still in a fixed plan ! I think there is a massive error and all the reads from myself, meter reader & smart have confused the system as the usage in kw is not a lot of difference month on month ? OVO are not helpful or listening??  

I used to be able to log in just using touch ID but recently I’ve been asked for email address and password, and then I also have to use Touch ID to open account details…. Is this normal now as it’s just long winded…

My smart meter is not sending readings automatically. I have been waiting for several months to have a new one installed and today received a garbled voicemail about booking an installation. Hooray! However I couldn't hear either the number to call or the name of the company “acting on behalf of OVO Energy". Does anyone know the  contact details or name of thecompany who does this work for OVO in the London area? (I have tried OVO customer services but couldn't get through.) Thanks!
