It is a concession made towards us electric car owners efforts to go green. be grateful not critical.

Do you actually know how much it costs to charge an EV compared to running a heater? I do.

I only have econ 7 heati g and pay now, just reduced to 23 per unit so your argument does not work as it is per unit used not who uses less

Hmm, Horses for courses, We use sun shine to heat our home and air. We, in theory, are an all electric house, with very little bought from the grid. 

I can even charge my car for nothing, the OVO charge anytime only uses electricity at times when demand is low and I only use it when there is nothing left in my batteries.

Here’s the thing though. You don’t have to use expensive storage heaters as other options exist. EV Charging is not something that has that luxury - if you have to recharge, you have to recharge at the nearest charging station.

EV Charging on average also requires more juice than a heating system and needs to be capable of doing so at a faster rate i.e. more amps thus can use more units in the same time period.

Tell that to my landlords,   off peak is lowest i can get and come 7 at night no heat at all as being in the house and opening a door loses all the heat!

Every bodies situation is different, you do not have to use charge anytime, you can charge on your off peak, I really do not know what you beef is.
