My OVO energy

Hiya!As part of its Support Package, I was offered a heated throw from OVO on 7 November - but haven’t heard anything about delivery. Does anyone know when these will arrive?Also, had a call from a number on 17th November - 0044 333 311 1231 - claiming to be from OVO, but I don’t recognise the number. Has anyone else had this call? Thanks

OVO tell me that I have to chose either economy 7 or economy 10 before I can book a smart meter appointment as they need different smart meters?  Does this mean I won’t be able to move tariff once the smart meter is installed?  Also they tell me they will fit a timer so that I can boost heating with convection heaters on the off peak rate or boost the hot water?  I am quite confused as at the moment all our heating, hot water, and electric shower operate on the off peak rate at any time of day. I understood that they had to offer the same set up but they tell me they will support this type of tariff?  Can some one explain how the hot water, shower and panel heaters will work or what tariff they will run on? Or will they only run at cheap rate during the economy 10 hours. How do my quantum storage heaters know when the cheap rate is?I find the whole situation confusing and unfair when we have the THTC tariff and set up because we have no mains gas option and it is

I just got an email from Ovo which has suddenly landed me with a massive increase on my electricity usage.I have gone from averaging 14kWh per day from Dec 21 to Oct 22 to 44kwh since then. In early Jan it was 73kwh per day!I have gas heating and water - there is literally no reason why I could suddenly be using 3 + times more electricity. Any suggestions? Am not sure why I have only just had my bill adjusted either as the meter readings have been sent automatically each month.

I had a tenant who left a rental property without paying the energy bill. As a landlord with a formal contract, one that states the tenant is responsible for all utility bills. Under current law, as a landlord I am not liable for any areas. How do i ensure Ovo accept this legal right?

My key was stolen. I picked up a blue key from a shop after being given an RTI code from OVO. I’ve been given another RTI code for the £100 that was on my stolen card. I went to the shop and it didn’t work. Did I need to activate my new card? 

When I first signed up to my new fixed tariff this is the information I had.But when I spoke to an agent online this is the information she gave me which is completely different.And this morning I received the contract.The main reason I sign up was because I thought it a better deal came up I would be able to change without any fees.

I have just been offered new OVO fixed plan deals. My current fixed plan runs out in March so my question is: If I choose a new  fixed plan now (January) will it start right away or will it not start until March when my current one runs out?

Hi I'm originally an SSE customer. My gas was turned off yesterday due to leak. I'm without heating, hot water and stove.At the earliest when can you fix the gas smart meter? 

took my electric key to the shop to top up, failed to top up on the shops side, put key back in and now there is a blinking red light? Any idea why this failed to be topped up (was able to top up gas card at the time) and is now doing this?

Given 8 digit code to set up gas card, followed steps to activate card in meter, card reading as invalid in shops. Tried with two separate cards, same result. No emergency credit due to needing to use it (OVO failed to send out gas card after asking for one on multiple occasions or inform us we could get one from shop for almost a month) it is currently -4, two disabled people in the house, no emergency line to call and the gas has now been cut off. What do I do? 

We are all electric and on THTC, or so we believe, we moved here in March 2021 and we have been trying to switch since we moved in, due to our apparent meter type we were with SSE then switched over to OVO. Currently going through energy ombusman to get a different meter/tarriff, due to living in the countryside we have to travel to a shop and due to weather it is not always possible and being pay as you go its not sustainable and we were told absolutely no way can we get a different meter and we would just have to wait until the RTS shuts down and hopefully we can get a smart meter(apparently this is not possible at the moment due to signal, yet others on our street have smart meters)OVO have argued that we are on a THTC tarriff..but the rates he gave me dont match the rates on our actual meter, each rate on our meter being 1pence more per kw. Why would I occasionally keep getting a balance adjustment message on my pay as you go smart meter? Surely the money just goes down as I use it. Why are they taking more from me? 

Morning All,As the topic says, can I switch to a different energy provider if I still have an old meter MPAN attached to my household? Long story short, we are all electric here and were on a Superdeal tarriff migrated from SSE due to using storage/underfloor heating in a 1970’s terraced house with a three rate radio switched meter.The new smart meter was installed in September 2024 and the old meter was removed. The new meter is sending reads to OVO as expected BUT all billing is on hold for the new meter and the old meter MPAN for the heating element of the old meter is still on the account when it should just be GONE like why is it still there!? I have contacted OVO about this more times than I have fingers for and its always the same old cock and ball story about it all being with the billing team and they have to review it and are aware blah! blah! blah! Hi there - I’m helping my Mum move house. She is currently a British Gas dual fuel customer, but we want to set her up with an OVO account in her new place. She moves on Tuesday 7th Jan. Is that possible, or are we best sticking with British Gas for the move and then switching after she has moved? Thank you in advance for your help. 

I got my A2AHP last year in May and ever since then I've actually been looking forward to the onset of winter to see how it will perform. It's actually doing quite well but in thinking about last year's data (collected so I could measure the performance for this heating season) it suddenly occurred to me that there is a point where you have used 50% of the heating energy for that season. I was walking the dog so I had to wait until I had got back home again, reasoning during that time that it had to be somewhere towards the end of January or perhaps even very early February. Well, it turned out to be the 20th January so my title to this is actually misleading to the extent that local weather conditions could make it a warmer day rather than the coldest. So, keeping the title (never let the facts spoil a good title) the period between the 10th and the 30th January is likely to be the coldest period where you use the most heating and you could consider the 20th January t

Hello all.I only joined OVO in March, so I’ve only had 4 monthly statements so far & every 1 of them have been wrong.As a new customer I’ve been keeping an eye on my account, just to make sure my direct debit payment covers my actual usage costs.I’m guessing I have a different setup to most, as in the fact that we have 2 gas meters & 1 electric. only 1 gas, 1 elec are smart meters.The normal view on the illustrative statement is correct up until my monthly statement has been produced, so the billing on all 3 meters is in sync. Albeit as long as a manually supply my dumb meter reading.But my actual bill so far every month has only incorporated any 1 of the meters, or 2 of the meters or even once after a phone call to OVO to let them know, it had been amended to show a combination of 2 different meters.Every month I place a call to OVO to let them know my monthly statement is wrong again & eventually OVO produces a correct statemen

I’m an OAP and my gas smart meter stopped working last night. I had an engineer come out this morning and he said the meter needs to be replaced. I have been trying to call OVO but cannot get through to anyone because it is a Saturday. Can anyone give me a number where I can actually talk to someone to get my heat back on? Thank you.

I am posting on behalf of my partner. He moved into his flat Jan 2023. The day he moved in, he set up the account with Ovo along with a direct debit. Fast forward to now and he’s realised that the direct debit has never come out. He’s now contacted Ovo and they have said that the day after he set the account up, the letting agent have cancelled it and put the land lady’s details. The account is currently at £1100. Now, obviously he should have noticed this lack of monthly payment. Ovo have said that he needs to contact the letting agent to ask what happened but they are dodging calls and are not giving answers. My main concern is regarding the mortgage application we will be making in a few months. As this has not been paid and we do not know if it has gone to debt collection, will this have an impact on his record if the land lady contacts Ovo to say that he is the one living in the flat and liable for the bill?
