hi all i am going potty my electric bill alone is costing £100 every 6 days and over night i am waking to have already using according to my smart meter between £7 and £8 when everyone in bed asleep  only time has gone down is when switched fuse box off at night for couple of hours but cannot keep doing this have been on to our supplier who dont seem in any rush to help but said will look into it mean while we have to keep topping up which is crippling us and getting into debt can anyone please help

Hi, I received my first gas and electricity bill last week, which was based on estimates since I had only provided a reading when I moved in. However, after realising I needed to submit monthly readings, I submitted the readings straight away and realised I was overcharged. In that month, I spent less energy than what was actually estimated. Will the amount I was charged for be adjust now that the real usage can be calculated? How will I be refunded for that? Hi, I have just had Solar installed in the very dull month of March and occasionally the the IHD shows that I am exporting small amounts back to the grid by showing the Pylon icon without me having an Export Tariff agreementI realise that if the Export readout shows zero, there is no cost or rewardIf the readout is below zero does this mean I am exporting without rewardOr is my export, when  the reading to below zero automatically being deducted from previously or future import electricityI hope this not too stupid a question

Its Been like this almost 1 Year and we’ve been on estimated Electric bills.  (Gas is working albeit I have to punch in the readings manually, probably because electric is faulty)Bulb are absolutely hopeless at getting it fixed despite multiple emails. Last message was that they “Rejected” the request (“They” being some kind of Smart Meter Engineer I guess)I just want to know if its actually still taking readings in the background? if so things will turn out fair in the end I suppose.  But if its not then I need to know the next steps.Anyone else had a similar code or situation?Thanks

I've just switched to OVO and the first first payment will be taken on 18 September. I want to use a different current account from the one I gave when I filled in the switch form. How can I do it?

I too am on the Variable Simpler Energy Plan and have received an email that the prices are going to increase. They say the prices are based on November 2022 wholesale prices which were extremely high, but are advising switching to a Fixed Tariff, which I assume is based on November 2022 prices.Today the wholesale prices of energy are down 70% surely it must be better to be variable if the prices are going to drop, rather than tie myself into high November prices.August 2022 £320.00 / Megawatt. March 2023 £44.50 / Megawatt.

So I just signed up to this charge anytime for my Tesla but see it’s cheaper after 11pm ????? And starts then ?I know I can plug in any other time but it’s my standard tariff , is this correct? from 11pm 

I am a landlord and need to arrange for an all electric flat to have an Economy 7 account and install a night storage heater. Slightly galling as the current heating system allows for control to use only when needed and the tenants use only about 67% of energy that the calculations with a night storage heater would use - yeah I know. Anyway previously advised by OVO that they can not convert the  existing Smart meter to E7 so to best the system thought it made sense to get a new Smart meter installed as soon as tenant moves out next month. First of all OVO can not find the property and manage to confuse with another property with a different postcode. Still they can not find the right property. Then they say I have to wait until the property and account is actually returned to me before I can book a new meter installation appointment. *edited by moderator*Any suggestions ? 

Live in a block of flats with communal supply of electricity to garages. I was told by the property manager that it is impossible to separate the usage of electricity to individual garages. Am planning on getting an EV and wanted to have an EV charger installed where I park, but it seems installation is not possible due to communal use of electricity. Is there a workaround to have a separate meter for my bit of the garage?Thanking you in advance. 

Hi there,I am an OVO customer and got very excited when Charge Anytime was launched.However, I’ve just discovered my Polestar 2 isn’t compatible. Quite staggering.How is this possible when the Volvo XC40 and XC60 are?Am I missing something?Thanks. 

My IHD display worked fine for 5 days after arrival. Now it just shows “waiting for current data” and nothing else.ive restarted it, reset it and moved it right next to box and still nothing.so annoying. Nothing on forum but loads on bulbs forum.does anybody know how to reconnect it to the actual meter. I’m sure there must be a menu on the meter but it’s locked by pin and no instructions on the web.IHD is a waste of time at present! and I’ve tried everything and still won’t work. It was fine 2 days ago and only installed a week ago

I am doing some works a house and I have what I believe is a redundant gas pipe. It’s right in the middle of the kitchen so I’d like to remove it. One has safety engineer said no problem, the other one said they can’t because it’s not the house pipe. What is the right answer?  

Good evening just been reading this forum as I thought I was going mad with my Porsche App , Kaluza web app and charge anytime app ….  I’ve had Indra and charged EV out multiple times to my home and there are some serious issues which should be addressed Firstly the charge anytime app is the dominant app if you have an Indra smart pro charger and are using the OVO anytime tariff.  the charge anytime app adds erroneous profiles and timers to the Porsche app ,a profile called ENODE and a timer which is usually a day to two ahead . The charged EV and Indra people I’ve had out watched this happen in real time.  The only solution for us was to ONLY use the charge anytime app to schedule the car charging setting it at 50% min and 85% - 100% max (annoying that the app only allows one schedule and not a 7 day version this really really would be helpful)  When plugging the car in you may still get a red charger error but as long as your Indra is showing 4 solid white lights and your timer is sc

I am trying to take a final meter reading before switching to a new supplier tomorrow but my meter is displaying a message (which is incredibly hard to read) and no numbers. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I working for a letting agent. We have previously used a company called Just Move in, to arrange our utility switching. They notify the utility companies of tenancy ending, the details of a landlord for the interim period and then the names of the new tenants. We enter the information they need into a portal.  Since the OVO SSE merger, OVO has refused to accept any information, leading to very long phone calls with OVO to try and help tenants and landlord with utility switching.  its lke we are stepping back in time.  Surely there is a better way for this information to be given to you rather than multiple phones and refusal to do anthing due to GDPR. Please can you let me know when OVO will have agreement in place with utility switching companies such as Just Move In, as the current situation is terrible 

My elderly mother is severely hard of hearing and cannot cope with telephone calls now. She officially named/agreed with OVO for  my brother to be her representative to deal with her account however he was told on a later call that he cannot discuss/change her direct debit as she asked him to do and that instead my mum would need to telephone(!) to get a WhatsApp number for collections (or whatever the payment dept calls themselves now) to do it herself. The other option offered was for my brother to become financially liable and be named on our mother’s bill.  All my mum wants is to do is reduce the new direct debit amount as she is substantially in credit. It hasn’t helped that my mum has been telephoned by OVO since and had messages that she cannot understand and this whole experience has her sick with stress. What part of “cannot hear” does OVO not comprehend? Why can’t her representative actually represent her? We didn’t have this representative issue with a different power provid

Since theres a few ways of creating electricity like necular and wind power, do you think in the future there be a new way to convert a different type of energy into electricity? Some sustainable like solar?  If so what do you think it will be??

Sorry if this is a silly question - I can’t see it asked/answered anywhere else. If I leave Ovo do I have to return the smart meter display (I think this is what’s called the IHD)? 

Why can’t the App just put the fixed costs and VAT in the chart? Give us a true look of our costs.  yes it’s good having the up to date variable but surely it’s easy to put in the fixed costs on a daily basis.This will give a true reflection of what the bill is going to look like. 

I have the Charge Anytime app all set up and working with my Tesla.Everything is fine, if I just leave it to do it’s thing, but I have a problem when using the ‘Urgent Charge’ function. Basically it will just stop charging randomly.I hit the Urgent Charge button in the app and after waiting a bit the car sometimes starts charging without doing anything, and sometimes I have to go to the car app and hit the ‘Start Charge’ button. Either way it will stop charging sometimes after a few minutes, and I’ll have to do it all again. This means that any time I need to charge I basically have to keep checking the car app, which is useless.Anyone else have this problem, or a solution?I did wonder if it was anything to do with my partner also having the app. When I set it up on their phone I used their Tesla account credentials (for access to the car), so I wondered if the two might be competing in some way? Both apps will show the urgent charge status when it’s switched on with either of them.

In recent Budget the Govt have introduced measures that will require energy suppliers to charge pay-as-you-go (PAYG) meter customers the same energy Tariffs as they charge their DD payment customers.  See following link to Martin Lewis website explaining these changes.https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2023/03/extra-costs-for-prepayment-meter-households-to-be-cut/As a DD customer with a smart meter considering cancelling my DD and moving to Pay On Demand (POD) i.e. monthly bill payment in full with no credit bakance, I'm being advised by the OVO collections team that this method of payment comes with a tariff and standing charge premium which will increase my annual bill by ca £250.Other threads on DD payments in this forum have discussed at length the need for OVO (and other energy suppliers) to recover costs of POD administration.  Whether real or imagined these POD premiums are going to come into focus if PAYG customers are given rights to have their meter tariffs reduced to DD

 As my picture shows, my gas meter reading is indeed correct and all are shown in the app. But all my electricity meter history is basically disappeared, and the meter reading from the Ovo webpage also disappeared too. I checked my recent bill, and all electricity bill is written as estimated, although the previous statement I got in the summer showed all the correct electricity meter reading. How does this happen? Is there anyone who has experienced a similar situation? Please let me know if you have any idea about this, thanks in advance!
