Hi, am a forum newbie - I’ve tried searching for this question but couldn’t find it.My IHD seems to be connected to the smart meters OK, and is displaying KWH data for both electricity and gas. However it doesn’t display budget/cost data for gas. The gas usage figure also seems a bit high?Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Is the IHD broken or does it need a reset or something else? Any help appreciated! 

I’m in the habit of cut and pasting my usage cost date into an ongoing spreadsheet. The costs for one day in December were wildly out of kilter with the rest - impossibly so - and I was about to cut and paste the data from the website to ask Ovo what that was about. Yet I now find that all of the data for December - apart from the first two days - is different from what I captured from it two months ago: It has been changed.The three columns on the left are the December data when I captured it (and 31/12 is obviously ridiculous - even if I’d accidentally captured the wrong month, it could never be right. The three columns on the right are what the website now shows.Anyone got any insight into what this could be about? Decidedly dubious in my eyes...  

Hi as anyone heard of power rewards on play store is it worth down loading ?

I am currently switching my FIT licensee from OVO to Octopus. I am owed a full quarter by OVO and will be owed 2/3rds of this quarter by the time the switch takes effect. OVO have told me Octopus will pay all this money but I find it hard to believe and they won’t confirm this in writing. Does anyone know if this is true?

The language is in what appears to be Welsh, is there a way to change this? And there's no signal showing at all on the device, not for wan or to the meter. I think it's showing usage for the past few days I guess, as I don't understand Welsh it's hard to tell! Hoping someone can help.

I have two open support cases - one about incorrect move in date (opened mid November 2022), and another about incorrect meter serial number (opened end of November 2022). I called OVO multiple times. In the beginning they were saying it would take up to 45 days to resolve the case, which is bizarre in itself, but now it has gone beyond that for both cases, we are at around 80 days now. The support personnel on the phone are extremely unhelpful - they simply do not know any additional information, they just say “I see it is in progress”. Any advice?

Hi, I am trying to log into My Ovo, but it needs me to reset my password because Ovo have moved the account to their new online system.  I get the email to reset my password and click through and write a new one and then get an error that says “Your password reset link is invalid or expired.” I have tried sending a new reset link over 10 times and tried different devices. What am I meant to do as I am now late submitting meter readings.  Thanks. 

My question is this? An electricity supplier EDF illegally transferred me to him for the period from 13.12.2022 - 24.01.23, "EDF Energy customers limited won’t charge you anything for your time with them" but OVO will charge me for this time of period with them.

Hi, My smart meter is not working and I would like the Trillant hub communicator to be  disconnected/removed. It’s a Landys Gyr E470 and a Trillant SEAP 2001 V. I can’t see any power button on the Trillant. How can I turn this thing off?  Can I just cut the wire that link it to the Landys? Many Thanks. 

Hi, I am in the process of switching over to Ovo from SSE. I am on the priority service register and SSE have a dedicated careline number for Vulnerable customers.  My question is, does Ovo have a dedicated number similar to SSE so I don't ring customer care, I can just contact "Careline" number, just for Vulnerable customers.   Many thanks in advance for any help  Tracy   

Just moved into my property on 11th January. Do I have to do anything to get the government help for my gas & electric?? 

We are looking to move to the telsa tariff once we get our solar panels and tesla battery fitted, can we switch just the electric to tesla (octopus energy) and keep the gas with ovo?

Hi folks, I've got a query with my recent bill. I had a smart meter installed 14th December, before which my account was a mix of standard readings and estimated readings. However, on my bill today I've noticed that there's been a LOT of additional use added on, which I can't account for.I understand that Ovo average the difference between readings, but these just don't make sense. I had a real reading on the 2nd October of 18968, followed by an estimated reading on the 1st Nov of 19208, and another estimated of 19467 on the 1st of December. A real reading was taken on the 14th December of 19550. That's all fine and good. However, on my latest bill, I've got 40.25 kWh on each day between the 2nd Dec and the 13th Dec. Where has this come from!?The difference between the estimated reading on the 2nd Dec was only 83 units, yet those days of 40.25 kWh have added on 483 units! Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!

My Solis app has just decided to add another circle for showing house consumption, has anybody else had this happen 

Hi there, a few years back I opted for a Smart Meter to be fitted by Scottish Power. The engineer although fitted the Electricity side he skipped installation on the gas side as he claimed he could not “commission” the meter i.e. no network.They never returned to finish the job and I never chased as I was submitting manual meter readings anyway.I just changed to OVO and they fitted a NEW electricity smart meter and also gas so now after 3 years I can actually monitor my usage. My question is.. I still have the unused IHD3 from Scottish power and powered it up for the first time, you can toggle through the usual stuff and there’s an “engineering” mode and it says “Join Network” however I doubt it would be that simple so I pressed it anyway. Nothing happened as expected as I’m sure there are more steps involved. So is it possible to have an additional IHD3 display in the house albeit regardless of supplier? Any instructions on how to do it? Cheers all

Recently had a 6kw solar system installed, consists of a Solis Hybrid Inverter, rated (3 - 6kw)  5kw rated  Pure Drive Battery and 14 x 420w panels. My question is, why does my inverter take from the panels and feed to my property and the GRID, rather than charging the battery which is as low as 12%? Any assistance will be grateful appreciated. 

Hi - newbie here. We moved last month and just got our first bill. It says our night time usage is far higher than day time, which feels weird. Any ideas? Have I transposed Day/Night readings? 

A rant! On 21 November I telephoned OVO to say that the gas energy rate showing on my PIPIT home display was incorrect and as a result it was difficult to keep a continuous check on my usage.  I was told that ‘the team’ would be notified and that they would get back to me by phone or email.  A month later, having heard nothing, I contacted OVO again on Live Chat I contacted OVO again through.  I was told that I had to wait 43 days from the date of my first contact to allow time for ‘the team’ to contact me!? Yesterday, 50 days after my first contact and still having heard nothing I contacted OVO again by Live Chat.  Having gone through another barrage of questions and explaining exactly what I told them on 21 November I was told that ‘the team’ would be notified.  They were supposed to have been notified on 21 November!!!   I left British Gas because of imilar issues with their customer service.  On another note, when using Live Chat you have to answer a series of automated questions. 

I am soooo confused.  i have been reading up on Ovo’s EV plans on and off all day…..Nothing is very clear.I have not yet bought a charger, even though i was not wanting one of Ovos. But is ittrue i have to have one of theres to upgrade to drive?   I do not have a smart meter and i do not have gas.(oil only).if i buy one of ovo’s chargers - what happens if i eventually move from ovo?   is my charger then useless with another energy company? 

First time asking a question but have been reading the forum Q&A’s for a little while. Some smart people on here!  I have smart meter (Secure Liberty 100) and wanted to know if there is a way of finding out exact usage in real time? I had a Solar panel and battery install a few weeks back and the Solis app tells me I'm only using Solar and Battery but I’m convinced the “Grid” meter is still drawing power.  Thanks

Hello! I'm moving into a new property and according to a website you provide the gas, but you have no record of this when I put the details on your website. Help, please!

When I check my Gas Bills, I am finding that, using the Calorific Value stated on page 6 of my Bill, the kWh used figure does not work out as per the value stated. This seems to be because the calculation was not made using the Calorific Value quoted. Usually it is only an error of plus or minus 0.1 of the stated value but it should be the correct value or else the bill is technically wrong !   Why can you not get all of the figures correct so that the bill can be checked fully?

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can provide some assistance with an issue at my father in laws property recently. He had an issue with damp and a leak in his bathroom so any electrician isolated the power. He noticed that one of the meter tails hadn’t been put into the meter so called out the supplier and they attended pretty quickly. The engineer said that the previous meter hadn’t been fitted correctly and the “cable for the night rate” hadn’t been put into the meter. The engineer then changed the meter and fitted a brand new smart meter. I have a couple of questions regarding this:If it hasn’t been recording a night rate since this meter was installed then my understanding is the supplier can backdate a bill (which would be estimated) for the last 12 months. If it has been recording a night rate but it was charged at a day rate then there is a case to request (although unsure how this would be calculated) money back from the supplier.Is it as simple as I have stated above or is there m

Earlier this year I received an email from a customer service advisor at Ovo Energy asking me to email her a photo of my gas meter - this was to clear up questions regarding which meter was mine (I live in a flat and there are several different gas meters in the property). I had to wait a couple of weeks to reply as this is second home and imagine my disappointment when, after I sent the email reply at hello@ovoenergy.com I received an instant reply saying that “for my convenience” this email was no longer managed by Ovo. So I rang up and asked one of the customer service advisors which email to use. After rather a long time on hold I was told that the email to use was: customerservice.admin@ovoenergy.com.  So imagine my disappointment when I emailed the photos over only to receive an immediate reply saying this email was “unable to receive email.”  So my simple question therefore is what OVO email can I use to send the photos of my Gas Meter which Ovo has asked me to supply? are OVO rolling out DBCH meters in the Colchester Essex area? Ihave been in touch with Octopus and they have no stock at moment but will have later in the year.thanks Vin
