My OVO energy

Hi, I have just moved into a property which you supply. I want to submit my readings and fix my bills but the suggested price is £129 a month. This seems very high as there is only myself in the property. Is this just an estimate that will change once I submit my meter readings?

My Direct Debit is currently on a three-month 10% discount holiday, following a DD amount increase I found excessive. One of the reasons I found it too high is that I fully expect to receive the Warm Home Discount on my account in November or December as I have for at least the past five winters. My new DD amount was set online on 12 August, and the first DD was taken on 27 August. I understand that the DD review takes place automatically ‘every three months.’ in my case it could make a big difference if the review takes place on 12 November (three months from confirmation of the amount) as opposed to after the third monthly DD is taken on 25 November. Hello, I have a very old imperial meter made by Parkinson Cowan (Ser/ No S512290) that works in ft2. Would someone kindly help with the conversion to kwh please. I also would like to know if it measures in ft2 or 100ft2. This is an image, many thanks. 

I recently submitted a gas meter reading, only to get hit with a £650 bill. At first, it appeared to be because OVO had estimated the wrong gas meter reading when I moved into this house 6 weeks ago, but now I gave them the correct meter readings from move in day, and yet my balance is still way high. I did all my own calculations using the standard conversion methods, and my gas bill should be £206 but they’ve actually billed me £552 since 27 Nov. Crazy.Thing is, I have a very old (90s) imperial meter that measures in cubic feet (not even x100 cubic feet!). It’s a relic haha! When I check my bill, the reading I gave them shows on there as 914.000. The reading I actually gave them was 0914. Can somebody who knows more about how they deal with old imperial meters confirm that this is a correct read as it should appear on the bill? Or have they somehow messed up my billing by thinking I’ve got a newer meter? I was due to have one installed but they couldn’t do it on the day.

Hello We moved out of our house on the 28th July but I’m struggling to submit final meter readings. I can’t submit via the app because it’s saying there are no meters associated with the account. I tried emailing using the email listed on the help centre page which is hello@ovoenergy.com  but I got an auto reply to say the address is no longer in use and to use the one on the help centre page. I can’t see any other email address listed so no idea what’s going on there.I tried the webchat option during the week but I was 44 in line and when I went back to check where I was in the queue, it reset and I had to start again. So I gave up. I did try calling but didn’t have much time to stay on the line because we’ve been moving. Any ideas how I can get the final meter readings submitted? Do I just need to grit my teeth and hang on the phone or is there an easier

Hi.i thought this would be simple, but it’s proving difficult. I’m an existing OVO customer on a rolling Simpler Energy tariff and thought I’d like to try and move to a fixed tariff before the increase. Tried logging into account, lots of options around boiler cover, new boilers etc; nothing on new energy tariffs.  Very easy as new customer, why so difficult for existing customers? If I try and choose the plan as a new customer it tells me I’m an existing customer and should log on to my account!! how do I get a new tariff!update: finally pushed the right buttons and got it working, but not very intuitive thanks,colin

Not sure if this is common knowledge but I just found this on my app, you can link your Tesco Club Card with OVO and receive £25 Club Card points.

Has anyone else been given a £7,600 CCJ from OVO that doesn't belong to you, not your bill, not your address, then admits fault but still doesn't remove it..? Since February been promised it will be removed but still there. Really good credit score gone down drastically and no credit allowed..Anyone?? Or just me..

I am a landlord of a property that contains several offices and one residential flat. We are housing a Ukranian family in the flat. They both have full time jobs now, so are paying utilities.  We want them to be able to access the government subsidy for energy bills, but the supply has a shared meter with the offices and is registered as a business.  There is one electricy meter and 2 gas meters (one for the flat). Is it possible to split the supply before the electricity meter and have a second installed and registered as a domestic supply and if so, what sort of cost?

Once the novelty of watching the remote display has worn off (And it doesnt like to be to far from the meter!) You start to wonder WHO did this benefit?The ONE benefit I thought i would get was accurate Direct debit amount settings! NO, you still get the OTT increases and over payments with an automated FORECAST that never reflects actual bills and seasons.Plus… I couldnt have the Gas Smart meter which is WHY i wanted one in the first place since the Gas meter is in such an awkward place to read….. all down to DISTANCE that even my bluetooth keyboard and headphones could easily cover?! I also had to waste my time and the Engineers a SECOND time as I was told OVO used the new RELAY transmitter to bridge the gap so i COULD have the Gas smart meter when HE told me no such relay is used by OVO?So, the only benefit was for the Utility companies to do away with actual meter readers!?

hello,Has anyone on this forum successfully bypassed the date of birth question when making a card payment via telephone?I have been told that if you press star or hash it will move onto another security question. It does not and have repeatedly told them this.Thank you.

I moved into a new property (owned) in December. It had pre-payment meters for gas and electricity with a key and card for top up. I had smart meters installed on May 3 and on May 15 received an email from SSE/OVO advising my final bill had arrived and could I log in and pay it. I have not received a bill and have never used emergency credit on either meter. After two hours of phone calls speaking to six different people, a two day chat in Whatsapp and thirty minutes on hold today  I am no further! They advise I owe £60.27p however no one on any call or message system could confirm how or why I allegedly owe this amount, or whether it is for gas, electricity or a combination of the two. I have not received a bill and no one has been able to send me another copy of it. I was hoping to transfer to being a direct debit customer but I’m not sure about this as you don’t seem to be able to get finance correct when I pay in advance!  Any other pre-payment customers  receive r

Hello,  Hoping someone can help me. Asked web chat for support but no response.  My query is whether I can buy a top up card for my daughter’s pay as you go meter for her electricity to give to her to use ? She lives in another town and i hoped to see if it were possible for me to buy a card to give to her when i see her.  From what I gather, it might be the case that she would need to use her card and that would mean that I would need to be with her when she tops up to pay. My IHD says the standing charge for Gas is 298.93p per day?? This cannot be correct surely? We are on PAYG and my gas credit is disappearing fast! 

Dear Forum, I have had an unresolved issue with my energy account for over 7 years. Please can the forum offer any advice to get this resolved.  I was with Spark Energy when I initially purchased the property, the issue started with them. Because the property was split, they were taking readings from the wrong property.  Spark Energy then went bust leaving my issue unresolved. The account was taken on by SSE Energy, again I’ve proactively tried to resolve with them, with no luck. Ovo has taken over the account, still not resolved the issue despite a very large paper trail saying it will be resolved, I will not be hounded by debt collectors etc. Today a debt collection agency, I believe to be linked to Ovo tried to take £1000 from my account. Should I contact the energy ombudsman, a lawyer? Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks,

When I'm logged on to myAccount, I can't seem to find any links to show me the currently available tariffs and plans (like the information I received when I had to renew). Am I missing something? The lack of a search facility from myAccount doesn't help either (or is that something else I've missed)?

Hi, I have switched to a different supplier recently but foolishly topped up on your old key. I'm trying to find out how I go about getting a refund on the credit now on that key. I do have the receipt for that transaction and any advice on the correct way of  going about this would be greatly appreciated.

As others have noted elsewhere, I am building up a considerable credit balance as my Charge Anytime credits are not being taken into account when calculating my monthly direct debit. About 70% of my electricity goes into charging my EV. The advice from OVO is to claim refunds as necessary. However:The help article says You can ask for a refund if your balance is in credit with at least a month’s Direct Debit amount. My current credit is very nearly double my monthly payment. When I try to claim the refund, I get We’re sorry we can’t give you a refund today. I meet all the criteria but it says we recommend keeping at least 3 months’ worth of Direct Debit payments as credit.There’s a mismatch here. I hope somebody from OVO can explain and, I hope, correct.

I've had a recent bill but noticed that the ovo sort code has changed for bank transfers and I'm a bit wary of making the payment. Has anyone else had this ?

I haven’t made any contributions to my private pension either, so nothing more to add to our family budget.   Als

My father has recently passed away. For ease we always had account in my name and the dd came from my account. So we rang OVO to say house is now empty, can we please reduce DD to a more acceptable amount until house is sold. Apparently this is not possible! So it was suggested that as account had a very large credit balance that the DD was cancelled and future bills would come off the balance. All seemed ok.Since then I have had daily phone calls from collection agents, telling me the DD has been cancelled. This is now verging on harassment. How can I stop this?
