My OVO energy

I have a smart meter. We are no longer using gas. I have booked Ovo to remove the meter. Do the engineers cap the supply as part of the job? Is there a charge?Do I need to contact the transporter when the meter has been taken away?

We have bought a house which has pre payment meters I obviously want to a ) change details over b) get rid of pre payment  I just cannot get through on the phone and it’s driving me to dispair there is currently no supply at all 

Hi in the past month I was attacked with fraud on my bank account and just realised that my bill for the month is due out and since this has happened to me this month I'm struggling to be able to pay my bill as at that time I had to delete my direct debits for any further fraudulent behaviour happening as confirmed by the bank and was seeing if my services could be kept on until next bill due date I'm which I can pay double as I'm now still waiting for a new bank card to arrive. Does anyone know if I can do this? 

Hi I rent my flat and have to have economy 10 can I get a smart meter? Not sure if its relevant but I I do not have storage heaters and as my meter is 8 foot up a wall I find reading it each month very difficult and slightly dangerous!! Also I have read that economy 10 is ending but I havent had any communication from OVO to collaborate this.

I moved to OVO earlier this year and I'm on the Better Smart Plan, I queried why my direct debit has gone up 50% this month and below is the reply. I understand if I'm using more than the original estimate my DD needs to go up but the response seems to suggest prices can change.Hi Andrew,Thanks for getting in touch with us. You are on a fixed contract but the price is not fixed the unit rate and standing charge is this means that the price can vary due to the energy market at the time and also the usage of energy.Due to the 54% increase this would be why your DD price has increased to £146. Surely the whole point of fixing is to prevent price changes? If the unit rate is fixed unless there is a change to tax surely it should stay the same? I'm not understanding this explanation at all.

Why do OVO continue to threaten me with debt recovery when I have a letter from them telling me to do nothing since my final statement is ‘on hold’?

A new message has appeared on my In Home Display, saying “Elec Meter Initialised - press OK to confirm”. My OVO account says they are receiving my smart meter readings successfully. I had smart meters for gas and electric installed Oct 2024. Why has this message appeared? Thans in advance

Please could someone advise if it's RTS meter? I asked OVO and they said they can't advise. I don't want to switch to smart meter just yet if I don't have to. The photos attached are of my communal cupboard where my meter  is circled in red. There are 2 other meters serving other flats.  

Hi how much credit does my electric and gas meter hold please 

I checked my energy usage frequently but when i checked today all my old usage bills were a lot higher it previously said i was spending about 1 pound 40 a day now it says for the same day i spent 3 pound 25 how can the usage change on a previous date and it has done that for all my old usage

Topped up gas account and ovo/sse took 4 payments and still didn’t credit gas! impossible to contact!any help would be appreciated. 

Good Afternoon.Shortly before I got my old electricity meter replaced by a smart one, I topped it up with 10£. I now have the smart meter running ok, but I just would like to know: is there a way that I can get that 10£ credit for the new smart one? I still have the old top up key, and the receipt.Could anyone let me know how I go about doing that?Thanks.

Hi,When trying to join OVO from British Gas, I get the below error:Oops, there’s a problem…Unfortunately, we can't give you a quote right now. We're currently unable to support your meter setup, but we're working on it and expect to offer quotes in 2025.I have a new Skoda with the free miles offer, so I would like to get this fixed quickly so I can move across.  British Gas said it is a proble on the OVO side, but I do not know how to proceed. ThanksCraig

I've been going around in circles with OVO and SMS for the last 7 months trying to get a working smart meter.I've had multiple comms hubs and meters tried and none of them can connect.The engineer today brought with him an English comms hubs, but OVO refused him permission to install it.This is in the context of a very good solar system which generates a lot more electricity than I need and is currently being thrown away.I'm not in the Highlands of Scotland or anywhere remote, I'm in a village a few miles from Kinross near the M90. I do however live in an 18th century stone house with walls about a foot thick, I think the signal just can't get through the wall.Frustrated I am!

I would really like to join Ovo’s 15M extended fix tariff but having filled out all of my details, there is a term and condition that I need to have a smart meter fitted, "By signing up to our Extended Fixed plan, you’re agreeing to have a smart meter fitted (if you don’t already have one). We’ll contact you to arrange a suitable installation date for a smart meter to be installed in your property." Having read about the legality of forcing smart meters on people, I am unsure if this is something that Ovo can actually enforce? Given the fact that last time someone tried to change my gas meter, the fitter had to call Northern Gas Networks out and refit the old meter to prevent a leak, I am hesitant to allow this. I also live in the north of England and therefore would likely get the radio controlled meter, which is really said to be ineffective and not future proof. Also I have read elsewhere on your website

Why when I try to get a price comparison do I get the message "unable to switch non domestic meters" This has happened twice once when a supplier called me and now on a comparison site.

I have recently received a statement from Ovo, with a breakdown of my usage over the last 10 months or so, and the numbers they have used are wildly inaccurate, to the point that I believe them to be charging me over £1000 too much for my annual usage.  They have also given me an estimate for next year of over £7000, meaning my energy bill would be more than my rent.  I have already contacted customer service, but I was hoping to find some reassurance here that these mistakes will be rectified.In my previous property, I was on a prepayment meter, and would put £10-15 on each per month.  When I signed up to Ovo at the end of September last year (I had just moved in a couple of days before), I was quoted £97 per month.  I knew this was high, but I was unable to provide my annual usage numbers, so I agreed to the ‘average’ for my type of property.  I am pretty sure I gave meter readings (how else would they know what I was using without a starting number).  However, the statemen

We have recently moved supplier and have electricity on a credit tariff and our gas on PAYG. Usually the meter will show the standard three usage lights Green/ Amber and Red to show our energy usage, but all of a sudden it has lately being switching to a solid blue light (see image below) and the only way to return it to the standard usage lights, is to reboot the IHD, but his only works for a day or two before the blue light comes back. Is this a fault with the IHD? As you can see, it is still the same IHD that came with the original smart meter that we had installed (and still have) when we switched to a smart meter with our old supplier 

Hi. I have solar PV, GSHP, two Powerwall batteries and an electric car. Also have 3 phase power as building used to be a small guest house. What I need is a smart meter to take advantage of time based tariffs. Currently with Octopus but they have failed. The first smart meter could get no signal due to location. After 12 months I then got an AMR meter with an external aerial. Perfect signal. Octopus now say it can’t provide half hourly readings and in fact I will have to send monthly ones manually. Is this an octopus issue, AMR issue or something else? Help! 

Sorry, long story!I’m trying to access my Mum’s online OVO account.My father passed away recently, and the account was in his name. Contacted support and asked for the account to be switched into my Mum’s name. It appears that this is done.I have Power of Attorney for her, so I’ve provided my LPA letter and that seems fine too. Changed the registered email address to mine. Problem was that I had a dormant OVO account as I used to be a customer until about 3-4 years ago. So when I logged in it automatically selected my home address, and not my Mum’s.Support tell me that they’ve now deleted the old account, and I now have a working OVO id and password - the problem is whenever I log in, whether from my laptop or my phone, I get a message “We're working on a new website for you”. Phoned support 2 weeks ago and was told it was a problem linking my email to the account. They said they’d raise a ticket for software support to fix this, but I never receiv

My gas meter hasn’t sent readings since 5th May, was sent an email to do health check and after that I spoke to someone who said it all seemed fine and he pulled a reading up. Next morning no reading had gone through again and when I called was told it looked fine and was back to Coms (whatever that means), how can it be fine if not sent in 5 days, have had to do manually
