My OVO energy

Is there any way I can move forward with a switch without reverting to expensive single rate tariff first?I’m with another supplier on their EV tariff. When I try to switch to ovo, the ovo website recognizes my current supply as a “Smart Meter - 2 Rate Multi Rate” and says sorry, we can’t quote you right now (I think this 2 rate is my EV off peak pricing, it’s definitely not economy 7 which is what that name sounds like to me!).I tried my next door neighbours address (regular smart meter) and it’ll happily quote me so the problem is the 2 rate thing. I tried phoning ovo customer support a couple of times but they say the same as the website - we can’t switch you currently.I can revert to a regular single rate tariff with my current supplier, and although I’ll start paying more to charge my EV immediately, it’ll take a month to update the MPAS database to change my supply type back to regular smart meter. I cannot find any reference to the electricity pylon symbol  in any of the guides to theIHD 6 display .I am guessing it is indicating that the solar is exporting .any help on this would be good.

Hi everyone I had £14.97 credit on my pay as you go meter i had a smart meter installed 4 days ago and the 14.97 has still not been added engineer who installed smart meter said it could take up to 2 days anyone have any advice Thanks

Hello…. Whats peps experience of getting refunds on smart PAYG balances when switching away from ovo? i.e. Time frame of getting leaving invoice and cash in your hand? I’m transferring 10/2/25 as a new supplier has cheaper S/C even on payg. (Ofgem KWH rates apply) thanks

My gas had run out whilst I was at work. I went and topped it up but by the time I came home the supply had been disconnected. I have credit in my account as shown on smart reader but I don't know how to reactivate the gas. Can anyone help please

HelloI am trying to switch to OVO using the online quote facility. The quote defaults to the wrong supply address and there doesn’t seem to be a facility to change this. The incorrect supply address is a flat in the same building as the main house. Any advice on how to get the correct supply address on the quote?Note that this is not a new problem. A previous switch resulted on a gas meter from one address and an electricity meter the other being transferred but I was assured that the central database had been updated to stop this happening again.

Our SSE FITs account has just been transferred to OVO - already we are singularly unimpressed by the ‘help’ OVO customer service have provided, and reading through the horrific stories on this forum of FITs payments being delayed by 6 months and more, we feel that we should remove our account to someone who gives a (insert expletive) about their customers. at the earliest opportunity.  We were only given a week’s notice by SSE that our account was being moved.  So, two questions: how do we shift to another FITs Licencee (we have the Offgem list and our current supplier is one of them - better the devil you know, as they say); Second, as our last payment from SSE was for the period up to June 2022, how do we get a final payment for the third quarter plus any intervening days at transfer out of OVO without having to resort to *edited by mod*

Until recently, I could be fairly confident that OVO had retrieved my midnight meter reading and yesterday’s usage data by the time I signed in each morning. There were occasional delays; once or twice one or other of the data sets didn’t arrive until later in the day.Now, I find that the data aren’t appearing in my account until more than 24 hours after the event. No data for Saturday had arrived when I switched off at 01:00 last night. This makes the billing details for the current period unreliable. At 01:00 on 17 March, I was seeing energy use charges for 15 days and standing charges for 16. After endless problems with Scottish Power I'm looking to switch and am really interested in OVO (I've been a previous customer and should never have left!). However I currently have a twin rate meter (Economy 7) and would like to move to a single rate. My current meter shows the single rate as well as the two E7 rates. Am I able to join OVO and use the single rate reading or submit the two rates? And if not I understand I would need a meter change. Do OVO charge for this and if so how much?Thank you for your help.

In July 2022, I was moved to the simpler energy variable plan (electricity only), as my previous fixed 2 year plan had ended.  I didn't have any choice in this as I couldn't afford any other fixed rate plan on offer.  I’m on a Smart Meter.  Direct debit payments were steadily increased until in Jan this year I reached the limit of what I could afford.  I cancelled my direct debit, paid the Feb bill by credit card a day early and have now set up a Standing Order for the maximum I can afford to start 1st of next month.  My latest usage tells me I’m in credit to the tune of nearly £50.  I was paying 0.32p per kwh but since my DD was cancelled Ovo have increased this to 0.36p which of course has only made my life harder.  You can’t get hold of anyone to speak to and the only time I managed that they were utterly useless.  I’ve sent emails but have never had a response or even an acknowledgement, the Whatsapp facility elicited no response either and the Chat Bot is useless.  I have to go

I have a 2 yr fixed dual fuel contract finishing on the 29th Sept.The fixed deals for the same from Ovo have been reduced slightly in the last week, but are still higher than some other suppliers and above the price cap rates that come in on 1st Oct.Shall I wait to see if OVO will reduce again for fixed deal, go onto standard variable, go onto standard variable for a short while and then get a better fixed deal? 

Hello. I am moving to a new house and would like to stay with OVO. In the old house I paid based on the fact of use. Now when I try to re-register everything online I am offered a tariff plan 2. But I would like to stay on the payment by the meter for use. Online does not make such an offer. How can I switch to a new house without buying a tariff plan?

On 17 February, I elected to switch from a one-year fixed plan to a new Extended Fixed plan, which started on 18 February. A few days later, I noticed that the rates for this type of plan were falling fast, so on 3 March, I asked to switch to a new Extended Fixed plan. I asked for - and received - confirmation that because I was still in the cooling-off period for the current contract, no exit fee would be payable. The agent handling the switch told me that the exit fee would be automatically applied to my account, but  it would be ‘wiped’ immediately.The following morning, I saw that the new plan had entered into force, but the billing page showed the exit fee of £75 as a charge. This had the effect of plunging my account into debt - precisely the situation I was trying to avoid. When the charge was still there the following day, I again contacted Support and asked why the charge had not been ‘wiped’ as I’d been told. It took two separate chat sessions involving diffe

My direct debit has jumped from £127 to £182 which I can't afford. It kept going up last year and I ended up being in credit and getting a refund of £200-£300. I would rather have a lower bill each month, especially at this time of the year the usage will be lower. I'm trying to find out if I left OVO, do we pay in advance or arrears, don't want to have another bill. Thanks.

I'm at the end of my tether with OVO. I applied for the Warm Home Discount on 04 Oct 23, and I received an e-mail on the same day saying I had qualified for it and I would receive it by 15 Nov 23. I still haven't received it. I've spent the last 2 weeks phoning, e-mailing and having web chats with OVO. I've been given excuse after excuse why I haven't received it, all of them different. I thought I was getting somewhere about 1 week ago when I spoke with an OVO staff member who went through my application with me and told me everything was in order and that I should have received it. He said he'd look into it and get back to me, but I never heard from again. I've tried to complain, but I get generic replies. One staff member from the complaints team e-mailed me yesterday saying she has tried to call me but can't get through. She tried to call me once and she left a voicemail. The number she left to call her back was a general number and when I phoned it, they had no idea who she was

I recently switched to a smart meter, I've got an Aclara meter, and i’ve tried to top it up through the app (this said the payment went through) but I waited for over an hour and nothing changed. So i tried to put in both payment codes in manually and both came up with a CRC error. I have £4 left of emergency credit so please help :(
