We had an engineer come round to fit gas and electricity smart meters. He couldn't fit the gas one, because the supply was the wrong pressure. He promised an engineer would come within 2-3 months. Or so. More than a year has elapsed. Who do I speak to?

I have just had an email asking for meter readings but I've just had a smart meter installed, do I still need to give the meter reading or will it automatically send one in?

I was very disappointed with OVO when I had a smart meter installed and that they did not test the strength of the wireless signal it uses. When I complained that as its not working and after trying various proccedures etc etc still nothing. When I asked the meter be removed I was told once its in its in! I Decided I was Not accepting that as the signal clearly was the issue. I contacted my local MP and after explaining what had happened my MP acted very quickly and arranged directly with OVO’s High Level Customer Complaints Team to get someone out to test and do their checks and then 2 weeks after I complained the Smart Meter was changed for a non smart meter and since then I have had no more wireless or mobile signal problems. Even when another part of the OVO family sent me a letter saying that they couldn't see my smart meter, again I had to call them and asked them to read my notes and complained. They finally admitted defeat and apologised for the inconvenience. So if OVO say the

I can get the number of units consumed but not have not yet been able to find a meter reading for the day units and the nights units? Also what is the time that the low rate units start and stop?

Hi, I moved away from ovo to Scottish power last year and had a major issue around meter readings. SP said ovo use first gen meters which don’t match to other suppliers so the usual ovo reading didn’t match anything with SP. I’m now returning to ovo and I’m concerned that the same thing will happen only in reverse. Can someone please tell me which readings I need from the meters please. Also please don’t send me to the usual link on the ovo website as it doesn’t tell me anything about specific readings. For info, for gas, SP want the volume cubic meters reading. I’m sure ovo prefer the imp kWh reading. Is this correct. Many thanks.

Hi, I have moved house and I want to read the meter but I have no pin, how do I get a new pin and get the meter brought up to date? It is still showing the previous owners value of usage for gas and electric. Thanks

I've always been a little suspicious of my meter readings and changing to a smart meter has not altered that. There are just two of us living in a four bed house. We cook with electric and use gas for water/central heating. We also have solar for water which reduces the bill substantially through the summer. However, our DD has always been between £150 and £178 per month, whereas most of our friends are paying sub £100. We've recently compared bills, usage and costs per kWh with friends who houses and lifestyles are comparable to ours and their DDs range from £60 - £80 pm. How can we be so far adrift? I would like my meters checked to ensure that they are measuring correctly. Can this be arranged?

I had a gas & electric smart meter fitted about 3 weeks ago. Since then my outside gas meter makes a really loud noise every time the gas switches on, surely this can't be correct?

Does the smart meter recognise the electricity I return to the grid through my solar panels?

If I was to move over to OVO and have a smart meter installed, where does it get installed? Will it be inside or can I have it outside? I don't want a smart meter installed inside my home because of negative effects on health that have been reported. Please let me know, thanks.

We can fit SMETS 2 (S2) smart meters for Economy 7 (Eco 7) set ups, including those requiring a 5th port/terminal connection, such as underfloor heating or storage heaters - More info on this here. Hi Ovo, Our gas supply suddenly cut out last week and a king and helpful Ovo support line worked out that our smart meter battery had run out after just 1 year! They came and changed it and everything seemed great. Today I've had a phone bill for £40!! For speaking to Ovo for 15 minutes!!! This is horrendous Ovo!! It wasn't our fault a battery said to last 10 years lasted just 1!! Shocked.
