Smart meters replace your current meters, so will be fitted in the same place as your current meters (a cobwebby cupboard under the stairs or a meter box outside, it all depends on you current setup). There’s no need to be worried about having a smart meter installed inside though, all smart meter meters are rigorously tested and don’t pose any health risk.
