What is the CIN number on my In Home Display (IHD)? Is there a battery-saving mode?

I have looked and looked and I cannot fine a customer number that's only 4 digits anywhere, would this give account information or more specific results to the IHD?  Also is there a way to save battery consumption on the unit by shutting off display or is it an in and off affair?  Thank you in advance all!

How to read an Economy 7 Honeywell AS302P S2 smart meter - User GuideTutorial

Updated on 13/03/25 by Emmanuelle_OVO:    Contrary to some statements I’ve read on the forum we had this Honeywell AS302P smart meter 2 installed by an OVO engineer and initially it worked very well, so I stopped my monthly monitoring of our energy usage.  Sadly a few months ago it stopped sending electric meter reading data to my Ovo account (the gas meter readings continued uninterrupted!).  So I was back to reading the meter and trying to submit these to OVO manually.  The problem was to identify the sequence of button presses that will enable me to display and read the day/night readings.  Despite several searches of this forum I found no clear guidance, apart from “press the buttons”.  With the help of the meter reader that Ovo eventually had to send, I have identified the sequence of button pushes and displays necessary to find and read the day/night electric readings.  I submit them here to help anyone else facing this issue. Honeywell AS302P Smet2 From the default display, the

My smart meter couldn't be installed because of an earth cable - Why?

Hi, The OVO engineer has refused to install the gas smart meter (there is currently a BG one in situe but the OVO meter is considerably larger. Apparently the "Earth Ground Cable" is preventing the meter being "raised" to install the OVO smart meter in place of the BG one. Whilst its frustrating that there was no standardisation of the sizes *at the very least*, I have just spoken to an electrician who I used to meet at my networking group and he thought the installer must have been a "wet behind the ears type who didn't want to bother". I have to say I was very surprised that a qualified engineer wouldn't do something as basic as this as part of the installation as it looks like its a simple matter of unscrewing the cable connection and moving it to the back of the pipe. I've attached pictures - could you tell me what needs doing so that the "fully qualified" engineer can come back and finish the job.

What to do if my smart gas meter has condensation in the display screen, doesn't send readings remotely and can't be read?

 Hope someone  can help. Our gas smart meter is not communicating, I did contact Ovo via the chat. They asked me to fill out a questionnaire, which I duly did, & haven't heard anything since. The problem is the meters display has bad condensation on the inside of it, (pic) making it impossible to read. It also doesn't respond to any button pressing and is making a noise. There clearly is a problem with this meter, and would like it looked at asap, as my bills seemed to have increased, probably due to an estimation on the gas.I look forward to your reply.Regards.

Why is my SMETS2 Chameleon In Home Display (IHD6) no longer showing data, a few weeks after smart meter was installed?

I moved across to a smart meter on 22 July 20.  The IHD is a Chameleon display, and it was all working fine for the first few weeks barring the odd blank screen which having read around the threads was expected as some work was done in the background to commission my meters etc. I came home from work late Friday night, 21 Aug, to find that while the meter was still functioning, pretty much every single bit of data was now showing up as blank, this after it had been working for the first few weeks.  It’s not a communication issue - it’s on the kitchen window ledge, something like 6 feet from the pantry where the meters are, and it has been working fine until now.  Having checked the meters themselves they seem to be working ok and have readings on them that look sensible.   Any ideas on the IHD?  I’ve attached a couple of photos to show what I mean.  Thanks in advance.

No gas appliances are working - how do I tell if my Secure Liberty smart meter is off supply?

We have no gas supply to our property. The boiler is displaying fault codes indicating lack of supply and there is no gas at the hob. Note that there is a known issue with a (Cadent) mid-low pressure regulator at our property and this is due to be removed 17Feb. OVO will be fitting a mid-domestic pressure regulator at the meter the same day.I called Cadent. They asked me to look at the meter and press button A. When I told them the meter displayed VEND mode, they said they could not help and that my only next step was to call OVO. Unfortunately, there seems to be no number for OVO that works on a Sunday!I cannot see from the forum what to do. VEND mode seems to relate to pre-payment. We pay by DD and are in credit and have been for a long time.I am confident the issue is probably with the Cadent valve (again) and I explained all this to the Cadent helpline today but they insisted the VEND mode display means I have to contact OVO. Why can't I get a smart meter fitted with a semi concealed gas meter box?

I'm told I cannot have a smart meter beciase my standard meter is located outside Electric is in a white box and gas in a brown box I'm trying to get one as I would benifit greatly from one any ideas what can be done?

Would my smart meters cause interference with my wi-fi signal?

I use a Sony smart tv to view BBC I Player. It used to perform without a problem. Since having a smart meter fitted a month or so ago it continually disconnects from my hub at about 25 minute intervals particularly in afternoons. I understand the smart meter sends messages via ( it’s own Wi-fi ) at this sort of time period.Has anyone else had this sort of interference. My Tv connects using the 2.4 kHz frequency from my hub.

Is a smart meter signal 'Relay' available for SMETS 2 meters - My meters are too far apart and I want a smart upgrade!

I would like to join the ‘Better Smart’ tariff which entails getting smart meters. The problem is that our electricity and gas meters are on opposite sides of the house, with a distance of 16m, 2 external and 3 internal walls between them making connectivity unlikely.I don’t want to get a smart gas meter that does not connect, as it presents no advantages and only the disadvantage of having a battery that runs out and makes the meter useless within 10 years (so not environmentally friendly either). I appreciate that the presence of neighbours’ SMETS2 meters could provide connectivity via a mesh network, but this is not a possibility in our case.While OVO Energy provides a relay for SMETS1 meters, is it correct to say that this is not compatible with SMETS2 meters, which have a different Zigbee profile - dual band 2.4GHz & 868MHz? If so, are there any plans to make such a relay (Zigbee booster) available for the HAN, if so when?Or alternatively, is it possible to only get the electr

Why has my liberty 100 smart meter gone off supply and into vend mode?

Our power supply has failed and UKPower networks have advised that our meter has gone into vend mode. We have a significant credit on our account. It went off at 22.15 and there appears to be no one to talk to or to get help. Any ideas?

Secure Liberty 100 meters (from First Utility) - are they compatible with OVO?

  My contract with Scottish Power is coming to an end and I'm looking at switching to OVO or to First Utility (who are a bit cheaper). I have smart meters (Secure Liberty 100) installed by First Utility when I was with them previously. They are currently functioning as dumb meters. Astonishingly, First Utility have advised me that if I switch to them, there is no way they can make my meters smart again (except replacing them). Will the meters become smart again if I switch to OVO? Thank you

Is my smart meter SMETS1 or SMETS2 ?

Hi, Earlier this year, I had a smart meter fitted. I specifically asked for a SMETS2 and was told that SMETS2 would be fitted. However, whilst thinking about switching supplier, I'm told that the national database says that my address is fitted with a SMETS1. How can I tell whether I actually have a SMETS2 or 1? Thanks.

Why is there a strange smell around my new smart meters?

Hi,  Our Smart Meters are in a cupboard in the porch. We had the smart meters installed on Tuesday just gone and ever since then we have a very overpowering smell from the cupboard.  It doesn't smell like gas or electrics. We had UK power out and check the installation and all good. The only thing that's changed is the new meters and they had to cut a hole out of the cupboard floor to drop the meter into. This area is to ground under boarding so I got self expanding foam and I've filled the gap around the meter so no air gaps.  But still got a very horrible smell. Any ideas?

Secure Liberty Smart meter Economy 7 boost button - What does it do?

I have noticed if I press the number 2 on the smart meter it gives me the option to switch boost on for 60 minutes is this normal as I can't find anything about it in the instruction booklet?

How do I take a manual reading from my OVO smart meter?

How do I take a reading from a Secure SMETS 1 smart meter?

I need to give my current meter readings to my new supplier but I can appear to find my current meter readings on the Smart meter. I’ve tried entering “9” but I think this is for a different make. Any suggestions please?

Could my smart meter be tripping the fuse box overnight? - Who should I contact to fix this?

Hi all, I've had a recurring problem with my fuse box RCD tripswitch tripping overnight and I'm wracking my brains to find out what's causing it; thought I'd post something here to see if anyone had similar problems before I fork out for a leccy. We're with OVO and have had our smart-meter for about a year, which replaced our old manual meter. Our fusebox is a Memera 2000 and the RCD protects our shower, water heater (defunct as we use a combi boiler which is wired to the main supply) and sockets (all on seperate trip switches). During the night the RCD switch will trip which knocks out our power so I have to turn it back on manually in the morning. I've used the OVO energy tracker to trace the problem to when it started on 14/06, where we had readouts of 0.0kwh at 2.00am. It's a pretty consistent pattern with a few minor variations which I've listed below 19/06 4am, 20/06 1.30am, 22/06 2.30am, 23/06 2.30am, 2/07 13pm, 3/07 3am, 6/07 2.30am, 7/07 4.30am and 8/07 4.30am. How do I read my new SMETS2 meter manually?

I've got smart meters and OVO are saying that they haven't received any readings from the gas meter for over 100 days!! I've received bills and my smart meter display in the house is giving me daily updates on my usage. The electricity meter is working and is sending readings no problem. I have looked at trying to read it myself but its really awkward and there are way too many buttons. Help!!

Pipit 500 In Home Display (IHD) showing incorrect prices - why?

Good morning. Ever since I've had my Smart Meters installed, my IHD has definitely been showing incorrect rates, even if you take into account that it shows VAT and My Ovo doesn't. How do I get this corrected on the IHD so the estimated spend figures in £ are correct? Under Electricity on the IHD the tariff is 'NEWENERGY' and Gas is 'Ovo Variable'.

I had a smart meter fitted on the 25th January and seems to work fine up until yesterday and now the clock is running 1 hour and 40 minutes slow. Is there any way of changing the time on it? I’ve got the Chameleon device

How can I get my new Chameleon In Home Display (IHD) joined to the network and displaying my usage information?

Hey there! I just received my new smart meter and the IDH (black model "Chameleon") and I successfully joined my home WIFI. The WIFI Signal is displaying three bands, so all good for the internet connection. When it comes now to the "Join network" which is I imagine the connection to the smart meter reading, It loop over and over again without any chance to get my real-time consumption, any clue?

My Chameleon In Home Display (IHD) is only displaying my gas usage and not electricity. Signal is good and everything else is working ok but electricity usage is not showing. Any ideas please
