Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve just received billing based on estimates which are 5 times bigger than my previous and current usage. On the basis of this incompetence OVO invited me to make a top up payment now of £5000+ to avoid being seriously in debt to them in 12 months time. Plus of course my current bill was almost 5 times bigger than it should have been. Was it incompetence or corporate greed that led to these grossly incompetent bills? If an elderly person received such billing they could have a stroke or heart attack. Has this ever happened? Has OVO’s stupid billing actually killed anyone?
Hi All,I previously had a standard Economy 7 which worked perfect but was asked to switch to a smart meter just over a year ago. since then every month OVO are only charging me for the standard rate tariff and no energy usage. So I am paying my standard £137 a month DD but only being charged ~£15 a month Electricity. The Meter and Smart device are connected and OVO have confirmed they can see the readings.I have called OVO on many occasions because of this, not only to be honest but I do not want a huge stonking bill to come through the door one day. I suffer from Asperger's syndrome and unfortunately it comes with some unwanted mental health issues for free including Anxiety. I really struggle to keep on top of everything in life and have spreadsheets for the smallest things as its the only way I can manage. I have called OVO 3 times over the past 3 months to which they have replied that there is an accounting issue. Now the main problem is, I do not know if what I am paying or have
HI,the title really says it all - I have an account with SSE Swalec that has not yet been moved over to OVO. I am having a problem and getting no help after 4 months of emailing email@example.comCan I ask questions on here about that account ?thanksPhilipJ
Hi I recently got a smart meter installed about 4 weeks ago, we don’t have an in home display due to the distance (block of flats). The smart meter never submits meter readings and it’s very sporadic so I’ve had to do this myself a few times. The ovo app under the usage section displays nothing of use either, it displays Gas even though we’re an all electric household.we’re currently £350 in credit but daily charges aren’t being deducted.Does anyone have any answers to these questions? Thanks.
It appears that instead of getting quarterly bills, We now get monthly ones. Thanks to OVO.So unless we do a comparison (from S.S.E.) before we were unceremoniously switched to OVO. We have no way of knowing if we are paying more for the privilage of serving O.V.O. (Obviously. Vastly. Overated)!🤑They gotta keep their shareholders happy!

A lot of people have concerns about energy bills. It would be great is there was a calculator that allowed you to look at your past consumption and price and potential future cost compare it to a set of predefined defaults (such as the standard rate) or a calculator you can enter. This will make it easier for customers to understand how price changes could affect them or how by reducing their energy use it could save money. my pension provider has tool like this to help you explore your options. .
Hi! It’s been since last September that i moved into my new house and after moving in i’ve been informed by the agency that the gas and electricity supply was being transfered from SSE to OVO. I have verified my email account etc. but every time i try to log in to my OVO acount i get the message “Oops! It looks like we need to fix something...” Few months down the road i can still see the gas supply account active in the SSE app (submit readings and make payments) but cannot see the electricity account via SSE or OVO app therefore i’m unable to submit any readings or make any payment. I have reached out to both OVO and SSE support teams and i’ve been told this is probably because of the transfer taking longer than expected. I’m getting a bit nervous cause as i said, i’ve not been able to make any payment for electricity and thinking probably makes more sense to leave both OVO/SSE so that my inability to make payments (although not my fault) does not get further magnified resulting into
So I was moved from sse to ovo and I had 189 credit on my account gets to ovo and they are saying it was a debt and I now owe a migration balance, but it isn't just that now it says I owe 241 when i pay monthly for my bills I don't understand where this random amount has come from and why it keeps going up. I even gave manual readings
I cancelled my switch to OVO within cool off but have been charged termination fees - how do I get them refunded?
Anyone else experienced theft by Ovo? £60 removed from my account as early exit fee even though I exited well within the 14 day cooling off period. Money still not refunded. This is theft - money being taken against the law. Hi
Damaged the gas pipes and electricity cables when doing work on our driveway - how can we arrange a meter fitter as DNO have visited already?

And we are encouraged to go electric!! But you are only allowed to do this with off street parking anyone else had problems trying to install a charging point at home
SSE to OVO opening meter readingCan't be done yet
We are seeing quite a lot of cases of potential discrepancies between the closing SSE reading and opening OVO reading, resulting in large day 1 usage readings on OVO. Of course there is a variety of reasons for this i sure. None the less, ideally there would be some automated check done by OVO to check and validate/correct any obvious issues with opening readings. For example if the day 1 reading was 100% larger that a typical days consumption for that household. It doesn't feel right the migration team are not doing these sort of checks by the look of things.
How often do OVO replace smart meters for gas and electricity? Mine are the original old versions only made for OVO so I can't swop providers easily. How long do they last? This is for the meter reading at source, not the useless machine you plug into the wall (chucked that ages ago).
It looks like I went for a fixed plan but don't remember requesting this - should I cancel and go back to the standard variable tariff, Simpler?
Can anybody help?I tried to talk to support team, and couldn't get an explaination.Oct 21, my 2 year contract ended. Nov 21 to Mar 22 on the simpler tariff (variable, government capped rate). This also had no exit fees.Going through my last 3 statements, i have noticed the tariff name changed to Better Engery with a year contract and exit fees, from the April 22 statement. Is this the lowest variable rate (government capped rate? Or did they move me without asking? Can they do this? Or should I contact ofgem? Any help would be great.
Hi there I have just picked up the keys to my new house and the vendors advised me that the gas & electricity are both provided by OVO. A smart meter is installed and payment is by way of PAYG using separate top-up cards. I am eager to change the payment method to Direct Debit. How can I go about this? I can't find any details on the OVO website and an email to customer services has been met with a particularly unhelpful response suggesting that they can't offer any advice because my email address isn't registered with them. Thanks
