Website account has stopped updating with smart meter readings

Have just noticed that my online account is not updating with readings from my smart meter (since 08/12). This is despite my meter showing the usual flashing green lights and the display on my desk continuing to show the usual usage readings

I completed the online form to report the issue,which came up with the correct serial number but said “Your smart meters are talking to us” and didnt give any other options aside from Contact Us. I tried calling, but in the runup to Christmas I dont have time to sit on hold for 30+ mins at a time

I know you can submit manual meter readings, but I really dont see that as a solution, more of a sticking plaster. Its a bad time for this time to happen as Ive just had to start using my awful night storage heaters

Any ideas? Ive had a search on the forums but cannot really see a definitive answer

…..and it gets better!

Tried submitting manual meter readings but there is only an option to select a date - no boxes to actually enter numbers

If I click on the only other option “Send Reading” it comes back with “Oops there is a problem”…..well obviously as you wont let me enter any readings

This really is poor...can you please assist

….and finally (I promise lol)

As a last resort, I went on the App to see if I could manually enter readings there.

When I click on View and Submit readings, it comes up with “Theres not an active connection to your meter right now” and gives me no option to enter manual readings

So…..no smart meter updates and nowhere to manually submit. Triffic!

It sounds like there might be something going on with the system, especially if your online account isn't updating. They’ll also be able to enter any manual readings you have and bring the account up to date.

Thank you for the reply…..the plot has thickened a little since I last posted

I manged to eventually get through to a very decent guy who seemed to think it was a website fault, as they were getting my readings and my billing wouldnt be affected

Unfortunately I had to take issue with that as apparently my usage for the last week has been £7.80 ….I wish!

What I find peculiar is that Im apparently the only person to have reported not just this issue, but also the fact that its impossible to manually enter your readings on the website or the app!

Oh well…..its been raised as an issue with “technical” so I willl have to wait and see. In the meantime, I will have to write down my weekly usage fron the history on my desktop smart meter display.

Am I just really lucky with these website issues or are others having the same?
