My OVO energy

Why is there such a relatively wide variation in standing charges from different energy companies with some e.g. Ebico not charging anything and OVo charging a relatively high 25-30p per day?

We have tried to have a smart meter installed (by Bulb, our current supplier) but the installation failed because the mobile signal on EE where we live is too weak. We do have reasonable signal on other networks (Vodafone, O2). My first question is, do all companies use the EE network for installation?  Assuming we are stuck with the EE network, would a signal booster help to make the installation viable? I am not exactly sure what needs to be boosted - is it 2G, 3G or 4G? We live in Bedfordshire, in a village. So we are not isolated and otherwise have reasonable connectivity!

the tamper light in my prepaid meter is showing orange and can't supply power to my house. What do I do?

Hi,We've just got a power cut in our area and, chatting with neighbours who are also with OVO Energy, they have received text messages notifying them of a power cut and the areas that are covered and when our power supply will be restored.Does anyone know how I can sign up for these notifications please?Thanks,Chris 

Why is OVO saying my plan ends on October 1st when it doesn't need renewing till the 10th? Is it advisable to submit meter readings on September 30th for everyone, though and what will this do? Thanks!

Hi all I will be getting an EV in a couple of weeks.I do not have a charge point for it, because it can run off standard mains sockets (trickle charge, and I can fast charge at work or round the corner at a dealership for free)Question:Do OVO have a tariff that doesnt require a compatible charging point?If they do, do you know what the tariff standing charges/price per kWh and the overnight prices/hours for it are please? I tried calling, but as you can imagine today, there are many people in the queue!Thank you in advance for an information you can send :)

Help. I listened to a friend late last night and did an online switch to Utility warehouse. Just afterwards she told me hers was cheaper as she had other utilities with them. I can’t and don’t want to change broadband, mobile etc. so, I’ve messaged Utility warehouse and said I have changed my mind - 30 mins after I put the switch through. I want to stay with OVO - all prices seem shocking but OVO is slightly cheaper. I’ve had an email just now from OVO to acknowledge the switch request. Can I stop the switch is my query?thanks.

Hello,I have a smart meter and a IHD but my on-line account whilst showing the KW/H for both gas and electric shows no values (unavailable) for all subsequent months since April 2020 - only March 2021 has any £ values  - why is this?thanks

I don't know what to do for the best - we've always used fixed rate deals but they are coming in very high..Which of these offers the best deal? Both are over £100 more than the variable we will drop onto in mid-Sept but is a variable a really bad idea at the minute?

I recently got a new card  gas meter installed but how long does it take to get it registered so I can get my card to put money in , it has been in a week now but OVO does not have any info on it even though it was them that ordered sign to install it 

Will a ovo engineer come out to check if there is a fault with economy 7 working the electric hot water heater as it keeps tripping the thermostat so we have to reset it.Plumber as checked it & says it could be electrical fault  

I am currently dog sitting for my son at the moment, up until i went to his house my daily usage was generally abour £1.60 a day. Since arriving at my sons house on the 6th of Augast my daily rate has increased to £2.60 a day, this when no one is in my flat. Any one shed any ligh6on this please. Thanks. 

I used to have a SMETS1 smart meter - it was brilliant until I switched suppliers. This was a few years ago, and the switch was to OVO from British Gas. So OVO fitted new smart meters - still SMET1 though, but back then they worked well, until I switched again.Several switches of supplier later (using meters that had become dumb, but I got used to it) I have come back to OVO. So I request more smart meter replacements and this is done very quickly and apparently efficiently by a fitter that I had great praise for at the time (well he knew more than me about smart meters, so he seemed like an expert).However, after over 6 weeks my SMETS2 meters are as dumb as any other meter that I had on my property, and in fact are worse, because not only are they NOT keeping me (and the National Grid) informed of my energy consumption, they won’t even allow me to input manual readings to my OVO account because the number is less than my previous meters number (obviously because the n

Hi, I’m relocate to the UK recently that I have never experienced on choosing an energy tariff from an energy provider here, so I have got some question regarding the energy tariff provided by OVO Energy provider. As I don’t have any billing history in the UK before, I’m not able to get a quote from the OVO official website or other platforms. In view of my current situation, I have no ideas on which tariff will be suitable to me and my partner. Ovo have stopped my switch to EDF for the second time. Have already called them once and they said they had sorted it and now it’s been blocked again. Does anyone know why they do this? 

I am the landlord of a property. I have received an email today asking for details regarding who is responsible for the energy bills as a previous tenant has left the property and new tenancy has commenced. However, on replying to the email it was bounced back as the email address given to me by OVO (hello@ovoenergy.com) is apparently not in use anymore. I can carry out a webchat however I am no 68 in the queue and then I am informed that web chat can not deal with the issue and I must contact OVO by phone.  I see no reason why I would spend my time or my money (ringing your 0330 number) if you can't send me the correct contact details for the information that you require. Have a house with post code IV54*** and account number *edited by moderator* The electricity comes into the house but the wire to the house is not shielded making it impossible for work to be done on the roof. I would like this fixed please. Also we have an off peak meter which needs to be removed.

Hello, I have recently moved into a new flat and am having issues/confusion with my electric board set up. A new smart meter was installed in 2017 (outside the property) - but i still have many things which i believe are obsolete / not working. Whilst the new smart meter is outside, everything else is housed together inside. I was just wondering if anyone knew exactly what all these were, if they’re still needed and also who is able to come and remove/amend anything out of place?
