Hi!I still have £4 credit on my meter but I’ve managed to activate my £20 emergency. I know it’s a silly question but when will it start showing that I am using the emergency? My In Home Display unit is GEO and for electric only. Thank you.

On Monday I received an email asking me to contact as soon as possible due to my smart meter not being able to be updated by ovo and would need a replacement by 31st may  Important: we need to replace your smart meter before 31 May We've recently been in touch about replacing your smart meter, which needs to be updated. We haven't been able to do this remotely, so now we need to install a new meter. It's really important that you call us as soon as possible, so one of our engineers can visit at a time that's convenient for you.  Your current meter will stop working from 31 May 2023 You won't be able to put credit on your current meter after 31 May, and your energy supply will disconnect after any remaining credit runs out. We really don't want this to happen, so please get in touch as soon as possible.  Please call 

Hi. I’m getting Solar panels and batteries installed next month. The installers recommend that I get a SMETS2 smart meter. I have a Secure SMETS1 at the moment (and has been updated so I can get half hour readings).  The solar installers say that SMETS1 meters can’t read the outward flow of electricity. Is this correct? Also can I get a free installation of a SMETS2 meter from OVO? I called OVO earlier, waited 20 minutes in a queue, got through, explained the situation and then they hung up on me!! 🤷🏻‍♂️. Any help would be fantastic. Cheers. 

I downloaded my Ovo bills for the past twelve months at intervals (not always in the current month).  Now, checking them all, I notice that ‘opening balance’ from a particular month often does not match ‘closing balance’ from the previous month. This occurs in six months out of the twelve. The opening credit balance is sometimes above and sometimes below the previous closing balance, by anything from couple of pounds to about £60.I have therefore downloaded all twelve bills again from “Billing History” and six of the bills are completely different from those downloaded earlier. The sequence now shows one month’s closing balance and next month’s opening balance perfectly matching each other.The fuel costs and total charges on each bill under the heading “Summary of charges” are also discrepant between the earlier downloaded bills and those currently on the systemHow can it happen that the bills stored in “Billing History” -- supposedly an archive of the customer’

We have just (today) switched over from another provider and when I entered our electricity meter readings into Ovo. I checked this with old electricty bill and it came to light that the night time electricty reading had not changed since September 2018. As we are not high users of night time energy it was not somthing that had been picked up on. I notified our previous provider as it was the day before we were switching and they promised to call me back and look into this. We have heard nothing. Any suggestions on what to do. There is obviously a problem somewhere with the meter. I was going to do the boil a kettle test during economy 7 hours to see if this is recorded. We do not have storage heater and the economy 7 hours only work for us when I use the washing machine or dishwasher. Also will my economy 7 hours be the same as my previous providers hours. I was supposed to get my boiler serviced last Friday at 8.30am but they didn't arrive. Allegedly an issue with a gas leak on another job. It is supposed to be now be done tomorrow (Wednesday) but I have no time and they don't seem to want to talk to me.Anyone else had any issues with the free service? 

Historically has updated every 24hrs or so but has not flinched for over one week, does anyone else know if it is poorly and a known problem that is being investigated?Electricity, historically, only updates monthly or so but gas has always been more timely.Thanks to the may weather my gas use has plummeted but my future annual prediction appears to be frozen in time. The cynical side of me might say this is to make me think I should opt for the fixed deal at 8.5p to save even more if I didn’t know the variable rate will be 7.5p come 1st July.I have waited to post this in the hope it might have updated. A great company pre SSE, a shame.  Do they know it is broken and are they fixing it (the gas not the whole company)? PadsterP.S. Not a smart meter issue, I don’t have one.

I switched to OVO , with a B gas smart meter , which wasn’t sending OVO a smart read , so I did it manually, meter reader came , she gave the read .. usage is between £58 -£80 a month !during colder months last week I had an email to say my smart meter is now sending reads every half hour and it was a regional problem.  now my app is saying throughout April & may my electric bill is £900 a month !!!!!!!!! two people in property, still in a fixed plan ! I think there is a massive error and all the reads from myself, meter reader & smart have confused the system as the usage in kw is not a lot of difference month on month ? OVO are not helpful or listening??  

I used to be able to log in just using touch ID but recently I’ve been asked for email address and password, and then I also have to use Touch ID to open account details…. Is this normal now as it’s just long winded…

My smart meter is not sending readings automatically. I have been waiting for several months to have a new one installed and today received a garbled voicemail about booking an installation. Hooray! However I couldn't hear either the number to call or the name of the company “acting on behalf of OVO Energy". Does anyone know the  contact details or name of thecompany who does this work for OVO in the London area? (I have tried OVO customer services but couldn't get through.) Thanks!

I’ve not seen this issue before but today (20th May) I went to get my May gas usage and it was only reporting up to the 15th. I looked at the day report for the 15th which was there but then I was able to right click right through to the 18th May and get the daily usage. Back to the month view and it is still only showing usage up to the 15th. Electric usage is being reported correctly as in the combined month report. This has to be an data processing error as it looks like the gas meter is reporting the data correctly.ThanksPeter

I’m looking for a bit of help and advice if possible. I have had a ‘smart’ meter fitted today but as it is in the basement of the house, it has been unable to get a signal. Basically I was told ‘there is nothing that can be done im afraid’. The reason for wanting the smart meter was to take advantage of the cheap overnight electricity rate which will save us around £500 a year over 2 electric cars.I was wondering if anybody may be able to offer advice on where to go from this point to hopefully resolve the issue or if anybody has had similar issues and managed to find a way to resolve it?TIA

How do I add someone to my account so that they can speak to OVO too?

My billing period is 19 May – 18 Jun 2023. Current charge is zero.I’m paying £136.00 on the 19th of each month. I arrive at the house on May 22nd. Does anybody know why I am being charged £136 tomorrow considering my billing period started in May 19? Is this normal?

Can anyone remember what the fixed rate tariffs for electricity, both standard and Economy 7 were in February 2021? There doesn’t seem to be an archive with this information.

I’m currently on a standard variable (like most people) for gas and electricity. How much extra would I pay if I was to cancel my Direct Debit and pay monthly via BACS on receipt of bill?

I closed an account on 1st Feb, gave the final meter reading, thought all was closed. I still have bills available on OVO and am now being chased for the £67 Energy support scheme which was added on 21st April. The account was closed so why was it applied? I don’t believe we’re due OVO anything. Can anyone explain it to me? Thank you

Can someone tell me what will OVO's economy7 day, night, and standing charge rates be from 1st June 2023 for ex SSE customers in Hampshire?

Perhaps a dedicated 24x7 emergency number for vulnerable customers on the Priority Service Register.The consultation isn't up on the Ofgem site yet last time i looked this morning.What specific improvements would others like to see in terms of OVO Customer Service?

Hi All. We had our first ever smart meter fitted some weeks ago now which had to be replaced by an emergency engineer a day later as our storage heaters and hot water would not come on. (Economy 7)The new meter seems to be communicating with OVO to some degree but is only using TOU1 and is not using TOU2 at all which displays 00000 kWh. We have agreed a peak/off peak plan with OVO but the IHD is displaying a single tariff of 30.86p per kWh which is not our agreed plan. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My bill period end date is the 4th which is when I submit my meter readings from the 5th to the 10th when I go online to check the total of my bill every day from as early at the 5th to the 10th I can get a total every day but it is always different each day - increasing always.  I cannot under why there computer has to calculate my readings why it takes so many recalculations over 3 to 5 days to produce the final bill I would have thought all the information to calculate my bill is in the computer and one run would calculate an accurate bill.  Any thoughts or similar occurrence I am On OFGEMs tariff not a plan which I would have thought would make it even easier?

I just opened my door to find a man reading my electric meter. When I said I send monthly readings he replied saying they have to do regular safety checks. Is this legitimate?

Hi, Just had smart meters and new style IHD installed and have a couple of questions please as have no user instructions. 1. By 6.00am every morning (when I get up) it tells me that I've already used around £1.30 of dual fuel on a total spend per day of around £3.50. Why so high when the central heating/water turns on around 5.30am? 2. What do the green/orange/red lights tell me at the bottom of the IHD, (not the meters)? Thanks. Jez
