What does sustainability mean to you when discussing energy in the UK?

I will like the people in the community to share their perception and expectation of sustainability in the UK energy sector

Strangely worded question - but any interpretation of sustainability is not just down to the energy sector. The government has a big part to play in this. Licensing new oil fields in the North Sea won’t help, the lack of strict regs regarding insulation on new builds and conversion of old office blocks won’t help, nor did the badly managed home insulation schemes.
Privatising the energy sector means money that could be spent on innovation goes to shareholders, and households are now paying extra on their bills to cover the costs of those suppliers that have gone bust. Dismantling all this country’s gas storage facilities another act of madness. Planting a few trees - as many energy suppliers offer as ‘green’ energy - will only go a little way to help. Trees take a long time to grow, they die if not looked after etc. There’s probably a lot more to be said on this issue!

I believe what ever we do in this country, unless the mass polluters in the rest of the world do something we are wasting our time and will achieve nothing.

Hi @Queenlateephat, if you have any main points you would like to canvass opinion on, I for one might feel up to offering a personal but somewhat diffident response…I would like to know, though, the reason behind your posing this rather large question? School essay? Casual curiosity?

Certainly a strange first question posted on this forum for reasons unknown by someone (or perhaps even bot) who only registered today is probably best answered by that person posing the same question to Google (other search engines are available) if they were that interested. Just nuke all “low quality” AI bot generated threads
Update the House Rules to ban AI Generated content outright

Agree with @waltyboy, such a vague question. New member @Queenlateephat ? (Queen Latipha). Is this a spoof or something more sinister. Sustainability is not limited to the "UK community".

The poor grammar in this question concerns me. Recommend we ignore this. For me it appears politically based rather than concern for customers.
